Being raised by humans as a gladiator, Thrall learned more about strategy and tactics as a youth than even experienced orcish warchiefs learned in their lives. After escaping from the human slavery and meeting Grom Hellscream, he found out he was a descendant of the Frostwolf clan. He traveled to his ancestors village, where he became familiar with the spiritual magics of the orcish shamans. Now he combines not only his control over thunder, but also his tactical abilities to turn fights in his favor using impenetrable walls of magic, areas of static energy, and even control over time.
Thunder Strike Thunder Strike (C)
Thrall curses the target to be struck by thunder 3 times over 4 seconds. Foes nearby the victim will also be damaged.
Level 1 - 50 damage per strike
Level 2 - 75 damage per strike
Level 3 - 100 damage per strike
Level 4 - 125 damage per strike
Allies withing 200 aoe will also take damage
Mana Cost: 130
Cooldown: 16 Seconds

Glimpse Glimpse (D)
Thrall forces the target back to it's previous position through a psionic rift. Sends the unit to where it was 4 seconds ago.
Level 1 - 600 casting range
Level 2 - 1000 casting range
Level 3 - 1400 casting range
Level 4 - 1800 casting range
Glimpse has some travel time, the target isn't instantly moved back.
Mana Cost: 160/130/100/70
Cooldown: 60/50/40/30
Kinetic Field Kinetic Field (E)
Thrall summons a circular barrier of kinetic energy, keeping enemies from walking in or out of it. The barrier has an aoe of 300.
Level 1 - Lasts for 2.5 seconds
Level 2 - Lasts for 3 seconds
Level 3 - Lasts for 3.5 seconds
Level 4 - Lasts for 4 seconds
Has a 1.2 second cast delay before the field is fully formed.
Casting Range: 900
Mana Cost: 70
Cooldown: 14
Static Storm Static Storm (R)
Creates an area of electric instability which damages and silences enemies in the area. The effect starts off weak and then intensifies over 5 seconds, dealing increasing amounts of damage, before disappearing.
Level 1 - Reaches 170 damage.
Level 2 - Reaches 210 damage.
Level 3 - Reaches 250 damage.
Mana Cost: 125/175/225
Cooldown: 85 seconds
The damage starts off slow and ramps up continuously until it reaches the max.
Total damage dealt in whole duration: 446.25/551.25/656.25
Area of Effect: 375

It is And the cost isn't much right, plus it's AoE, and it's a silence. It's kinda weird how this can be so powerfull without abusing of damage.

He's definitely a mid game hero candidate. He beats out Exort Invoker, SF, Rex, Bane, etc, etc.

The thing is Thrall wont be nerfed since he hasnt seen enough time in game to be consider OP. Invoker might just get his Sunstrike nerfed since how hectic it is right now with him participating in ganks.

Thing is his 2nd and ultimate are ridiculously powerful spells, which makes thrall a great candidate for the mid lane. And truth be told, Maelk himself has said that he is one of the best solo heroes especially in mid. One that can even best the likes of SF, Invoker and Bane. As for item build, I like Meka and Force Staff along with Treads, then make Sheepstick. I have never once thought about Veil and it looks like a brilliant idea, I'm gonna try it for sure next time I play.

It's an AoE Silence with damage.

Throw in Kinetic Field and you can already do a lot, increase in magic damage could be too powerful.

If Static Storm increased magic damage by 5% per second it would be the icing on the cake for me and maybe have that debuff remaining for 3 seconds after the target has left the area of it.

Glimpse is quite mana heavy early, make it 95 mana at all levels and rescale to a cooldown of 45/40/35/30. Static Storm should last 6 seconds and do 500/600/700 damage with 400 AoE. Cooldown 90/80/70 or 95/85/75 and manacost of 150/200/250

Thunder Strike needs a slight rescale to 70/90/110/130 and it should also give sight of the target, affect invisible heroes so that even if they do go invisible they take damage but arent affected by true sight. Kinetic Field would also be nice if heroes could not blink out of for the 1st half of the duration.

Thrall in Captains Mode, great, here comes the new ward bitch or he could solo mid. There are far better heroes for mid. He would work quite well as a baby sitter. He has a good synergy with AA, he could form part of an aggressive tri-lane.

That's if you can manage to use a skill at all before getting completely nuked off your face with that abysmal hp.
Thrall already has a great arsenal of spells at his disposal, its not necessary to add nukes, especially since you are far more efficient as a teamfight/ganking hero, rather than a 1 man ganker with a dagon. Veil of discord/Janggo/Force Staff/Euls are more viable extensions.
Core: Arcane, Wand, TP
Situational items: blink/ghost sceptre
Luxury: Hex/Shivas/Heart/Refresher

arcane is not neccessary ... his spells aren't this expensive. i buy bottle + boots and then pt early or bot late game. i play him with mjollnir in mid/late ... he's a good hybrid imo.

IMO, he needs another initator in order to do good at initating. Take tide. He blinks in unlties, u blink in, cage, ulti, thunder.

Why, oh why do people insist on "it has lightining, lets get more lightning!" and buy Mjolnir on heroes that don't need it? -__- Pure stupiditiy. Thrall is an AoE damage/intiator/nuker type hero. Mjolnir is just terribad.

Yeh, Mortred can also be a support hero with Arcanes, Hex, Euls, Jango and buying wards, but thats not his role. Thrall has no dps-ing skill and making mjolnir on him is just tardic. Just because his spells are lightinings, doesnt mean he needs mjolnir. And not BURIZA, delete w3 if u buy it.

This are my items for him:

Phase Boots
Veil of Discord
Euls Scepter of Divinity
Dagger of Escape/Force Staff
Maelstorm and;
Buriza

If you don't want Buriza then use items that can increase his health so he won't immediately die when he blinks in.

I usually use Euls on the enemy support hero and use Thralls two offensive skills and activating the Veil of Discord for lowered magic resistance. I think he can be a dps hero with maelstorm
