ok if you mean passive ulti, then Phantom assassin with her coup-de grace can easily slay him provided she is not stunned by him first. I think Naix can win him too cos he only has one skill that requires mana and that is his Rage.
if u want to counter this guy just get a hero with high hp and low mana. his ulti will become useless

He seems to be unkillable. Some can stand before his speed. Howerver, get Lifestealer to stop him. You should equip him with Vanguard to avoid the HP lacking.

Hmmmmmm I am wondering, if a character like anti-mage, or any other character with orb effect attack for that matter, gets manta style, does orb effect pass on to the replicas???

An incredibly lame hero. Easily beaten by Naix, but his magic resistance, attack speed and blink desperately need nerfing.

S&Y is an "ORB EFFECT" and it CANCELS Mana Break... 
Yeah don't get S n Y, but this hero is very good late game. When I am AM I try to remain patient through out the game and wait a bit before I get aggressive. Later in the game when your opponents are using higher level spells, requiring more mana usage and capacity and if your Mana Void is level 2, then go in for the kill. Especially INT based heroes. I would say a good build for AM is Treads/2xCranium Bashars/Vanguard/Butterfly/Hood of Defiance(giving you %70spell reduction)
HMMMM I was playing a game and my team-mate had antimage, right from the start i could tell he blew, then when he refused to buy bashers, but instead decided to buy a HoT so that he could take the magic damage for the team, thats when I started to laugh/cry and want to kill him.
He was also positive that AM's mage wasn't infact to kill isolated mages but instead to be the teams tank.
a fun game, Zeus vs Anti-Mage... it is like a 5 second fight.

@ Shrubs, u r by far the biggest n00b ive ever seen here. i cant believe such a person exists in the world such as u. a game between zeus and magina would last 5 seconds as
1. zeus requires lots of mana to get lots of kills and with his quick cooldowns, it would be mana drainin
2. with maginas mana break, zeus has less mana in his mana pool and mana void can kill zeus quite quickly if zeus empties out his supply
3. if either one of these heroes hav a refresher with a decent build, its basically gg, cos their low hp wont help them in a battle.
play 1v1 online usin magina and zeus, midgame is the funnest cos if u die once, its very hard to gain ur lead back

The bashes wont stack... You think its perfect??? Well its not... Ask it from the experts and DOTA Masters...
Favorite Hero he ownzzz 14-0 22-0 20-0 (my last 3 games with him). Fairly low health decent mana pool decent speed and blink. Watch out at the start and I tend to go for 1-2 wraith bands or bracers. As the game progresses your speed orb and ulti + blink pretty much owns nearly everything.
MKB cancels the effects of basher. u cant get orb effects for this hero (like luna moonfang) because mana break decides whether you die or kill.
Bad hero to start but with power treads, butterfly, lothars, basher, hood of defiance and maybe either a bloodstone for health and kill benefits, or a hyperstone for ultimate attack speed, then this hero really is one of the hardest to kill on the battlefield. Blink is very useful in chases and lothar's is extremely handy for coming up behind a hero or running from 5 lol.
2 VERY IMP QUESTIONS:
PLS ANSWER ONLY IF YOU KNOW:
1- Does Hood of Defiance Stack?
a- so 25%hero+40%majina+30% hood=95%?
2- can you get SnY? is it possible that manabreak works the 90% when maim is not working?
Hood of defiance does stack.
Don't get S & Y because it is an orb effect and will cancel out mana break.
Bashers stack as well.
Very good items for her are:
1.Power treads
2.Butterfly
3+4. Cranium Bashers
5.Hyperstone
6.Hood of Defiance

The problem with all these forums is people write strategies like u have all the money in the world. If you are playing people your level you wont be able to get so many items. If you have so much money, any item u get will dominate. For Majina this I think is perfect:
1st u have very low hp. to be able to effectivly play against mages

2xbracer
threads
Hood of Defiance
with these you dont need any other itmes to massacre int heros+they are buyable.
then into late game you want
2xbasher
butterfly
more than enough. anyway you wont have more time or money to get any other itmes. but if you do, hyperstone. think about then a buriza,heart, watever, game wont go this long
yes almost same as ur item build. However i feel majina cant be played without 2 bracer, he is too weak. they are cheap and help ALOT. what do you think? i say butterfly is too expensive 2 get early or mid game
Wrath bands are usually enough to get Magina he needed HP in the begining if you have RoRs.
The Hood of Defiance WILL stack ONLY IF you make the item BEFORE you get spell shield.
And for all you people that wanna get items with orb effects, don't. Mana break is what makes Magina. Maim is not needed because you have blink and can chase.
I usually get Magina:
-Helm of Iron Will (Sold later)
-Wrath Bandx3 (Sold later)
-Power Treads
-Vladimir's Offering
-Ginsu's Scythe of Vyse
-BKB (If heavy disables)
And if the game continues I get Butterfly MKB Burisa and whatever that will kill.
u guys should stop suggestin Orb effect items. Manabreak is great. and bht is right, ur builds r too expensive. in the beginnin u need BoS, 2 Wraith bands, Ring of Basilus and scroll of town portal. then late game should be PT, Vladmirs, 2 Cranium Bashers and if u can a butterfly
I owned magina using spirit breaker. The key items are kelen's dagger, hyperstone and 2 bashers. I charge first and stuns him dealing 2-3 strikes, He blinks, I blink as well then first hit is greater bash I don't why, pushing him like 3 seconds and I already did 4 strikes coz of the hyperstone then because of 2 bashers, it stuns him for 3 secs leaving his hp to red then he blinks, I used Neither Strike.. Killing spree..
lol that AM must have sucked then. I usually notice the charge icon pop up and either hug a tree or my team. And even if he catches me off guard I have a Ginsu's to just hex and run.
Yeah that was his fault. He didn't buy any disabling items like guinsoo or lothars and others. I was hiding in the woods and let him passed near my sight before I charged him. Also, I owned him maybe because I have huge other items not just those that I have mentioned. My opponent is a pro though, hehe. Spirit breaker is my fave and I'm pretty used to him. Dagger is my savior when I'm all alone and being ganked. I never attempt to kill a hero without any ally near me or if my enemy got an ally as well. 2 vs 3 maybe. But barrathrum vs 2?? never! LOL!!

Nope! I didn't even think using it for him coz imo, meka is useful for agi and int heroes. Barrathrum is more on str and speed. What does it do to barathrum though?
Ya bracers are needed on AM but if your just last hitting and avoiding hits (Which you should be doing) You should go for the cheaper alternative of wrath bands. (Unless you're going for an all out early hero killer then Bracers are fine) Since spell shield can block most of the nukes and if you're blink breaking and harassing nukers you should be fine.
Uhm, okay. Anyhow, it's our own choice of build depending on the situation and the enemy as well..
Wraith bands r better than Bracers at early game, u can harass ur enemy by blink/manaburn combo at early game

this build increases atk speed, hp, dmg, and 1v1 capabilities (wid basher)
Your item build is cute . What I can suggest is to remove vanguard coz it's useless on the late game, change it to HoT. Change the Soul Booster as well to Buriza for the critical strikes and more damage. Other items are good. You can also change your Basher to battle Fury for greater damage of if you want, you can double your Bashers if you do not want the Buryza. "pis brad!"

This is the coolest hero ive ever used! Its also my favorite! 2x cranium basher would always give u the best edge in the game! He always bash the enemy and burns its mana. No enemy would be capable of making a spell on him! especially if u use hood of defiance! U can always evade attacks and make sudden attacks on enemies. No one caould move if hes around!
Its not the damage which is important on magina. Its the no# of time u can hit the enemies without any counter attcks:

Uhh the mini stuns on the mkb cancels out the actual stuns of the bashers, so getting mkb along with 2x bashers would only screw up AM's atk stuns....
manta styles manaburn overrides his passive burn. same effects never stack

I'm having problem's lvling with this char...I'm so slow cos of the low hp of the char im continuosly running back towards base.. any tips?
in early game, get two ring of regens, then convert to hood of defiance
jasonerdes: hang back behind your creeps and only go in to get last hit/deny in early game. also buy tango's + 2 bracers or 2 RoR first.
His Lack of Hp is his downfall, Mortret the Phantom Assasin can take him easy, she's my best hero and this is my friends best hero. He is fun to play though

I had a Leshrac ,Balanar,Lion attacking Sentinel base.
Leshrac nuking creeps and allies heavily.
I had teamed up with Ezalor and Omniknight
First Ezalor had Mana leak on Leshrac
I blinked in and had few hits to get and Ulti finished it all.
Next I saw Lion pushing Omniknight in mid lane; as I came near him,Omni threw
a Repel on me and I went on charge of taking him out as well,few critical hits-blinks and nicely done.
Finally Balanar- the rusher tryed me out.
I blinked-hit-blinked-hit till it was day again
Just then Omni healed me from behind
Me and Omni with his Degen Aura followed Balanar and final blink to stalk his death.Entire opposing team killed in 0half a minute. 
FREAKISH !!!

Oh yes!!my build for Magina:
HoT,Power Treads,Radiance,Vladmir,Butterfly,Burizado.
You cud start by having Perseverance,then jump to HoT late game.
Radiance for passive immolation of course.Helps for farming gold a little bit.
Butterfly annoys,Burizado strikes ,Vladmir steals hp for those close-2-death combats.
jus use naix the life stealer,, in early game,, jus hunt for money and just avoid him as much as u can,, jus buy treads,, 2x basher,,assault,,satanic,,and butterfly.. he's jus like a newborn puppy in front of u :D
good hero good for attacking nukers espically zeus, the guy i was vsing was mana drained from using his ulti + refresher so i just blinked next to him and ulti'd 1.6k damage since he had 1.4k mana drained then i just tapped and he died.

i think magina is the most powerful hero on DotA especially in 1 on 1 battles
basically an easy hero to use because of his blink. early game just get 2 ring of regeneration to be converted to HoD later, pthreads, vanguard, and 2 wraith bands, you can already go and try to kill somebody. mid game, you should have at least 1 basher and a hyperstone for faster mana break. final items would be 2 bashers, pthreads, vlads, butterfly, HoT.
i lost against razor and maiden because of his pathetic hp.damn!

2) after that the ulti will leave the hp to red

To those who are not that Familiar with Magina here are SOME
Advantages
1.early nuisance (normal hit = mana burn)
2.late game FREAK(i mean with proper items)
3.can eliminate any INT-type heroes(the name says it all)
Disadvantages
1.weak in early game(especially when facing nukers and ranged heroes)
2.cannot be GODLIKE of not equipped with any bashing items(basher,MKB etc..)
and
3.can be easily countered by NAIX(take out his mana and use your Void and he will just quickly regenerate with FEAST)
Look heres a good item build for magina:
1. Treads
2. Vanguard
3. Hood
4. Butterfly
5. Vlads
6. Basher
(7. replace vanguard with a heart or a cuirass after you get the vlads if you want)
Yes hood does stack w/ spell shield and in the newer versions you can get spell shield first and they still stack.
Vanguard + Hood makes you a tank early game.
So you don't have to get HoD before you point a point into spell shield cuz they still will stack. Good to know.

at late game if antimage have very fast attack he can destroy the terrorblade.
soul keeper have very low hp like magina
but at level 25 soul keepers mana is 1001( without int or mana items) so after 16 fast hits if magina is able to lower terrorblades hp then 1100 and survive he will kill keeper with mana void. Besides maginas spell shield can stop alot of damage from sunder and soul steal.
still magina have blink to either run or to follow and kill.

I dont think magina will be able to do that especially with that build. (low hp). Centaur or any other good stunner with MoM will stun you in the start and Deal quick and heavy damage by using MoM. You might survive but still survive and run with blink.
Twin blades of death strategy is possibly the best strategy I've ever seen for this guy... first time I tried it I was 13/2

although magina has low health, once you reach high lvl with treads. butterfly, 2 bashers + a final item (baruza, battlefury, mkb w/e) theres no need for a vanguard.
my biuld for anti mage : aim 4 treads at start, get vlads, then 2 bashers, and finally a butterfly, the (baruza, battlefury, mbk, w/e) =)
magina may be harass or owned by heroes like barathrum or other str based heroes, but thats cuz hes latea game. he's usually unstoppable with the right build, even 2 str heroes

MAgina can own anyone easily in late game but if opponet have stuning effects like bash so opponet hero have advantage over magina.
to kill low mana heros we got to sacrifie alot. buy bashers hyperstone and alot of dmg. It will waste your first and last move. this will give u high chances of stuning opponet and not leting them run if they still run use blink.
o whoops yer i 4got, the VLADmirs IS a great choice for magina, cuz its not an orb effect, so it stacks PERFECTLY with his mana break

ok if you mean passive ulti, then Phantom assassin with her coup-de grace can easily slay him provided she is not stunned by him first. I think Naix can win him too cos he only has one skill that requires mana and that is his Rage.

Yeah don't get S n Y, but this hero is very good late game. When I am AM I try to remain patient through out the game and wait a bit before I get aggressive. Later in the game when your opponents are using higher level spells, requiring more mana usage and capacity and if your Mana Void is level 2, then go in for the kill. Especially INT based heroes. I would say a good build for AM is Treads/2xCranium Bashars/Vanguard/Butterfly/Hood of Defiance(giving you %70spell reduction)

HMMMM I was playing a game and my team-mate had antimage, right from the start i could tell he blew, then when he refused to buy bashers, but instead decided to buy a HoT so that he could take the magic damage for the team, thats when I started to laugh/cry and want to kill him.
He was also positive that AM's mage wasn't infact to kill isolated mages but instead to be the teams tank.

@ Shrubs, u r by far the biggest n00b ive ever seen here. i cant believe such a person exists in the world such as u. a game between zeus and magina would last 5 seconds as
1. zeus requires lots of mana to get lots of kills and with his quick cooldowns, it would be mana drainin
2. with maginas mana break, zeus has less mana in his mana pool and mana void can kill zeus quite quickly if zeus empties out his supply
3. if either one of these heroes hav a refresher with a decent build, its basically gg, cos their low hp wont help them in a battle.
play 1v1 online usin magina and zeus, midgame is the funnest cos if u die once, its very hard to gain ur lead back

Favorite Hero he ownzzz 14-0 22-0 20-0 (my last 3 games with him). Fairly low health decent mana pool decent speed and blink. Watch out at the start and I tend to go for 1-2 wraith bands or bracers. As the game progresses your speed orb and ulti + blink pretty much owns nearly everything.

MKB cancels the effects of basher. u cant get orb effects for this hero (like luna moonfang) because mana break decides whether you die or kill.

Bad hero to start but with power treads, butterfly, lothars, basher, hood of defiance and maybe either a bloodstone for health and kill benefits, or a hyperstone for ultimate attack speed, then this hero really is one of the hardest to kill on the battlefield. Blink is very useful in chases and lothar's is extremely handy for coming up behind a hero or running from 5 lol.

Don't get S & Y because it is an orb effect and will cancel out mana break.

The problem with all these forums is people write strategies like u have all the money in the world. If you are playing people your level you wont be able to get so many items. If you have so much money, any item u get will dominate. For Majina this I think is perfect:
1st u have very low hp. to be able to effectivly play against mages

threads
Hood of Defiance
with these you dont need any other itmes to massacre int heros+they are buyable.
then into late game you want

butterfly
more than enough. anyway you wont have more time or money to get any other itmes. but if you do, hyperstone. think about then a buriza,heart, watever, game wont go this long

Wrath bands are usually enough to get Magina he needed HP in the begining if you have RoRs.
The Hood of Defiance WILL stack ONLY IF you make the item BEFORE you get spell shield.
And for all you people that wanna get items with orb effects, don't. Mana break is what makes Magina. Maim is not needed because you have blink and can chase.
I usually get Magina:
-Helm of Iron Will (Sold later)
-Wrath Bandx3 (Sold later)
-Power Treads
-Vladimir's Offering
-Ginsu's Scythe of Vyse
-BKB (If heavy disables)

I owned magina using spirit breaker. The key items are kelen's dagger, hyperstone and 2 bashers. I charge first and stuns him dealing 2-3 strikes, He blinks, I blink as well then first hit is greater bash I don't why, pushing him like 3 seconds and I already did 4 strikes coz of the hyperstone then because of 2 bashers, it stuns him for 3 secs leaving his hp to red then he blinks, I used Neither Strike.. Killing spree..

Yeah that was his fault. He didn't buy any disabling items like guinsoo or lothars and others. I was hiding in the woods and let him passed near my sight before I charged him. Also, I owned him maybe because I have huge other items not just those that I have mentioned. My opponent is a pro though, hehe. Spirit breaker is my fave and I'm pretty used to him. Dagger is my savior when I'm all alone and being ganked. I never attempt to kill a hero without any ally near me or if my enemy got an ally as well. 2 vs 3 maybe. But barrathrum vs 2?? never! LOL!!

Ya bracers are needed on AM but if your just last hitting and avoiding hits (Which you should be doing) You should go for the cheaper alternative of wrath bands. (Unless you're going for an all out early hero killer then Bracers are fine) Since spell shield can block most of the nukes and if you're blink breaking and harassing nukers you should be fine.

Your item build is cute . What I can suggest is to remove vanguard coz it's useless on the late game, change it to HoT. Change the Soul Booster as well to Buriza for the critical strikes and more damage. Other items are good. You can also change your Basher to battle Fury for greater damage of if you want, you can double your Bashers if you do not want the Buryza. "pis brad!"

This is the coolest hero ive ever used! Its also my favorite! 2x cranium basher would always give u the best edge in the game! He always bash the enemy and burns its mana. I had a Leshrac ,Balanar,Lion attacking Sentinel base.
Leshrac nuking creeps and allies heavily.
I had teamed up with Ezalor and Omniknight
First Ezalor had Mana leak on Leshrac
I blinked in and had few hits to get and Ulti finished it all.
Next I saw Lion pushing Omniknight in mid lane; as I came near him,Omni threw
a Repel on me and I went on charge of taking him out as well,few critical hits-blinks and nicely done.
Finally Balanar- the rusher tryed me out.
I blinked-hit-blinked-hit till it was day again
Just then Omni healed me from behind
Me and Omni with his Degen Aura followed Balanar and final blink to stalk his death.Entire opposing team killed in 0half a minute.
FREAKISH !!!

You cud start by having Perseverance,then jump to HoT late game.
Radiance for passive immolation of course.Helps for farming gold a little bit.

basically an easy hero to use because of his blink. early game just get 2 ring of regeneration to be converted to HoD later, pthreads, vanguard, and 2 wraith bands, you can already go and try to kill somebody. mid game, you should have at least 1 basher and a hyperstone for faster mana break. final items would be 2 bashers, pthreads, vlads, butterfly, HoT.

He goes great with heroes affecting mana pool like Ezalor,Silencer etc.
Also he goes well with Manta Style
and NecroMinicon users.
Basically a Team player.But sometimes
owns cretain heroes like hell.
You cud also get an ally with slow or bash to support to get kills while ur blinks finishes them.A great Team Ganker.!!!!

the ultimate build is treads, hood of defiance, vanguard, mkb, buriza, butterfly... substitute bkb if stunners... he is dangerous if built dps... personally i think the perma-bash build is very cowerdly... if game goes on longer sell vanguard for heart

Antimage is the ultimate hero:
1) the mana break will eat the enemy's mana
2) after that the ulti will leave the hp to red
3) end with a blink (if the enemy try to escape) ...monster kill...

To those who are not that Familiar with Magina here are SOME
Advantages
1.early nuisance (normal hit = mana burn)
2.late game FREAK(i mean with proper items)
3.can eliminate any INT-type heroes(the name says it all)
Disadvantages
1.weak in early game(especially when facing nukers and ranged heroes)
2.cannot be GODLIKE of not equipped with any bashing items(basher,MKB etc..)
and
3.can be easily countered by NAIX(take out his mana and use your Void and he will just quickly regenerate with FEAST)

Look heres a good item build for magina:
1. Treads
2. Vanguard
3. Hood
4. Butterfly
5. Vlads
6. Basher
(7. replace vanguard with a heart or a cuirass after you get the vlads if you want)
Yes hood does stack w/ spell shield and in the newer versions you can get spell shield first and they still stack.
Vanguard + Hood makes you a tank early game.
