When she has a MoM, she can take whole creep waves by herself. She gets gold so fast man it is hilerious.
buy an item that can lifesteal just to get that bonus. what the above guy said it good idea, because u can use frenzy. watch out for sneaky heroes while ur farmin though. activate frenzy, better farmer, more likely to get ganked at close range.
Just played with her with Lothar's, Hyper, Butterfly, HoT, and Treads, worked out quite well.
bounty hunter will kill drow ranger with that above build :D

Get Lothar's as your first major item then get Power Treads, Butterfly, Buriza then Manta/HoT if they manage to kill you even with Lothar's or they got Wards/Gem.
I play her with treads, lothars, butterfly, hyper, buriza, devine rapier. works well.
divine rapier? very risky at late game cos ur lothars can be countered by gem or wards
tried using treads, buriza (put this on the top left of her inventory), butterfly, mkb, sange and yasha and hyperstone. good results
maximiza her ultimate so if the game becomes dragging. you can have your crow just follow you. reminder equip your crow with radiance
once,i used this hero and ended up killing every creep in one shot at level 16+.
but with marksmanship of course

No she's better than Clinkz because she can slow.
@ TrueBlueMetalHead klinkz dopplewalk and strafe increases attack speed and movement speed which would counter the slow effect.
klinkz dopplewalk and strafe = increased movement speed and attack speed, so its autocast ability can be rendered useless, also klinkz can deal continous damage with his fire arrows

my frost arrows is one of the best early game skill in DotA.
And get Skadi in me, you will face super slow motion (+my frost arrow)

Ur Frost arrows doesnt stack with EoS you know??? Maybe know u know.
i mean, if your mana is empty for using frost arrows, you can stop that. And hit normally.
Eos is good for this hero when facing off agints n'aix or omniknight cause the frost effect goes through repel and rage
this guy is gonna get nerfed. Honestly, the only way you MAY be able to outfarm her is in -em and she is being used by a person with an iq of about 10.

~Mjollnir (cast the skill on her self + 20% to deal extra 300 damage and also its an agility item it adds up to her damge..)
~Buriza (critical)
~Butterfly (good for agi heroes)
~DIVINE (if u still have money to buy this)

Disables work, pretty much any hero with a decent damage combo (preferably w/ a stunner) will rape traxex. Just be sure not to get silenced. This is why alot of drow builds include a lothars: she just dies way too easily.
Early game traxex is kind of annoying because she got really good early slow that doesn't attract creeps/tower attention, easily countered by extra tangos and make sure you pull back from a dying creep wave a bit earlier. Her ult is worse than stats so once you hit level 6 chances are your ult gives you a huge edge over her, and she dies.
Best drow counters I've found... Earthshaker, blinkers, image heroes, etc. The usual 'low hp hero killers'. Trick is not to get in the situation where you are running away real slow 1v1 and she is chasing you, thats the only place she shines.

The best Hero that I found to defeat the Drow Ranger is Atropos. His spells have such a far range, not to mention Fiend's Grip which totally disables her while taking damage.
Drow can easily silence atropos like she can to everyone else...

If you want to completely rape this hero just use Lina Inverse...
Just chain your nukes correctly and she'll die in no time!
She'll most probably stay away from you after so you need to make eul's quick,
So Cyclone+move close+stun+dragon slave+laguna blade hehe she wont be able to take it and youll get insanely fed...
(note: when euls charges are done just follow up with guinsoo, it's almost the same )

Basically it depends on the person handling this hero. If you really are not familiar with this hero, you will really say that this hero can be quickly killed. Wait for her at level 7 and see what your hero will be...
Dro is awesome, you need MOM, Butterfly, and Lothars
because dro can farm so well, you can get this within 40 minutes with a few kills, just solo with her and youll farm a storm.
Buriza is good after the first three items
If you know how to silence youll be unstoppable because most people just run if their silenced, and then the mom/ cold arrow chase begins.
Killed many heros within the 6 second silence time using MOM and Butterfly, Akasha the QOP could not even blink away
Oh and btw, Kardel the Riflemen gets owned by Dro Ranger

You say searing+80% atk speed and drow hp can take drow out easily.
Clinkz still isn't as effective as Drow when it comes to FARMING. Good farming power alone is good enough to own anyone. She farms fast enough to catch up after a death, and also...Silence screws EVERYONE except N'aix.

When i use Drow i always own because of my perfect build lol. Try to get Boots of speed when you first start off because it is a good combination with her frost arrows. By lvl 11 you should already have Power Treads, 2wraith bands and a lothar. Once you have started owing (lol) you should have enough money to get a butterfly. After you know you are untouchable get a Rapier. LOLS!!!!! OWNS!!!

and then:
buy : 2 divine and satanic..
and then u will find the GOD of Heroes
u can kill everthing....
u do realise of course, if someone buys a disabler item and bkb, u just lost 2 divine rapiers? also, when u complete ur first divine, ur a threat, so u will be ganked so much

I got reaaally weird items.. DESOLATOR, Bot, Buriza and sum others...
I personally get her these items.
PT, Lothars, Yasha, Butterfly, Mask of Madness early game, then sell for Satanic late game (only cos she has really low health at late game, 3 disables and shes dead).
Everyone on this forum who wants to buy drow a divine should stop playing against noobs, and start playing for real, if u play against anyone who knows anything theyll get their whole team to rape you the moment you get it, and stfu about aegis, roshan only pops up every now and then
The "Usual" build for Traxex in detail:
Begining: Two Ironwood branches and ring of regeneration.
After a while: Headress of rejuvination, boots, demon edge.
After another while: Monkey king bar, eaglehorn, boots, headdress of rejuvination.
After another while: Add a quarterstaff, sell headress of rejuvination to get butterfly.
After another while: Add power treads
Then Buriza then Vladmirs offering.
Game is over by ow.

Treads/BOT(if u're daring enuf cos early game u can tele here and there to farm like mad, u can catch up ur oppenent's items real fast)....
1 or 2 wraith bands early game for damage.
my final build is BoT, Lothar's Edge, Butterfly, Linken.... game shud be end by now....
if havent end, get a burize/heart, whichever u prefer, and blink dagger....
lothar's and dagger sound like espace items for a lot of people but you know... when u firstly get invisible, approach the enemy and silent them, then frost all the way. anyone can die if u attempt at the appropriate situation.
Dagger for making sure a kill or escape or to ambush or whatever, think of it! Ya know'? After going through the silence and slow of drow, any hero who struggle to finally found a chance to escape will be really pissed off if you have a dagger to backup....
There's no need for too many damage items. 1 or 2 will do. (p/s: lothar's already add a lot dmg) hihi....
And the best allies for drow which i think are:
Vengeful Spirit : stun, dmg aura stack, swap, enough said.
Yunero : nightmare for almost anyone start from level 1. I tried to play sentinel everytime and use drow, then have a friend who use yunero....
We will go to the bottom lane. Just as I saw an enemy, I will start frozing him at level 1, then whether he fights back or not he's gonna die. Yunero will come out from the forest and spin all the way..... Damn it's damn cheating! hahah.... repeat this over and over again. ur enemy will either switcfh lane at the beginning of the game, or keep feeding until they are under-levelled....

i tried an offensive drow with:
lothars,BoT,MKB,s&y,butterfly,buriza
try this: start w/boots and ring of regen (and a courier if u can, why not?). Get stats and aura first to get dmg up fast. ASAP get treads and 4 wraiths, for high dmg quickly and fast AS. Then harrass like hell. Wait till about level 12 for arrows for ganking. The ring can turn into an HoD or vanguard later (or sooner if u need to). Just don't be dumb, cause u can die with this build. Then go for anything that will increase dmg and AS (butterfly, lothar's, etc.). Buriza's good too. I know 4 wraiths sounds dumb, but it works. Just try it once.

satanic works with frost arrows if u manually cast it, but if u autocast, u dont get lifesteal.

Stop saying that some heros r better than other... there is not such thing, the point is how u use them. Traxex is has no weakness of any kind of hero, Jesus!!!
I think that Taxex is one of the best glass-canons of dota, specially couse TA (trueshot aura, not Templar Assassin). I woulnt waste gold in HoT... get as many dmg and attack speed as posible then even centaur will face u. Trust me!!!
Yeah Drow is a great glass cannon, shes got silence to give her 6 seconds of nuke-free stun free strikes and trueshot aura is a really nice dmg boost. If her ult wasn't complete crap she'd probably be more useful. Lothars gives great dmg boost because of trueshot so thats her escape mechanism (needed by all glass cannons :P)
Then again, most high attack damage heroes like Drow often have bad or no dmg no stun ults (razor's radiance effect, clinkz's deathpact, dazzle's shallow grave, storm's grapple, bounty hunter's track, VS's swap, morph's replicate, lone druid's bear form, silencer's global silence). The only reason drow can match up against anything is probably because of Silence.
Just imagine if drow had a dmg/stun ult like rexxar does, that would make her unstoppable, or a high damage finisher like anti-mage.
Traxex is a great hero though, early game one point in frost arrows allows orbwalking, 1 point in silence can save her ass and really put the hurt on alot of heroes. Stats and trueshot give her outstanding damage midgame, survivability early game.
At level 10, the new treads (+10 agi), 3 wraith bands (+18 agi) 4 levels of stats (+8 agi) will give ya 107 base damage, and 4 lvls of trueshot aura will boost it to 137! Thats alot of hurt for a level 10 ranged shot. Best part is since you have 1 or 2 points in frost arrows you can orbwalk and keep up with your prey without a problem.
Late game w/ butterfly and buriza (don't get MKB on her, the trueshot crits are better) or double butterfly will make this hero a real powerhouse. One of the best combos I've ever seen with her is Dragon Knight because of his low cooldown long stun (over 3 seconds) and ability to tank damage.

To JAPANFIGHTING:
S&Y is imperative for Traxex, the maim stacks with the Frost Arrows!
Gives better MS, and IAS!
My build for Traxex:
-Wraith band
-Treads
-S&Y (some prefer Lothars)
-Butterfly (a must in Mid game)
-Buriza
-Radiance or 2nd butterfly (not for the evasion because i dont think stacks with 1st butterfly, but for Attack Speed and dmg+agility gain)
Traxex is ultimate Creep slayer, and can take down pretty much any hero, except for well built strength huge HP heroes like Centaur Warchief or Magnataur...
I have observed in a lot of pubs that
they build S&Y after building p-treads
then saving their way up for butterfly/ lothar's/tarrasque. Is that a good build for Traxex? And one more thing,
what do you mean by manual casting?

Now I know what's the difference of auto-cast from manual casting. I tried playing Traxex without Lothar's and I still dominated my lane. Getting S&Y after p-treads has a major change in your -ms. A whopping 401 ms! Good for chasing maimed heroes. Adding butterfly makes Traxex a monster! My final items were only 3 wraith bands, p-treads and S&Y. When I added Butterfly, Traxex became a nightmare! Thanks guys for your comments. I used all of them and all of your builds worked! It would just depend on your opponent and/ or his build as well.

First of all, battlefury on Traxex..WHY?!?! (CRY OF DESPAIR)
No agility gain, only damage, and the splashed damage doesn't work on ranged heroes!
SECOND...
How the HELL did you manage to farm for that build which costs about 33000?!?!?
Dont post all the expensive items that exist, try to post what a real Traxex player would get.. which is playing smart, not full out tank!
Look at post# 134, my build is worth about 20,000... and even at that, i rarely manage to get to the second butterfly or radiance, games are usually over WAY before that...

no, LoA will not. just get blade mail and assault cuirass, LoA wont mean much. plus, manually cast frost arrow and run a bit. Hit and run with high damage is hard to resist, even for LoA.

i think a lifesteal for her is not bad, since as far as i know that when the cold arrow is not activated, she will steal all the remaining lifes of the creep who got hit by markmanship [500 hp if u instanly kill a normal melee creep], so it's good for staying in a lane longer, like bone clinkz's death pact. also, a satanic on her can make her survive a long battle, and she can get this item easily. a butterfly always do better, thou'.
i usually get 2 MKBs and a vanguard [to survive against nukers a lil'bit if they got u ambushed] for a short game [about 45minutes game] and i can kill most heroes with that, even a omniknight can't cast GA since 2 MKBs will make him dance like a fool.

however i'm sorry about the lifesteal on marksmanship, it's a mistake, probably by some changes, it won't work anymore on the latest version, or at least at 6.49. however i still recomend satanic to survive long battles, or MoM for a quickplay.

Icefrog has finally ruined drow ranger. The one thing that kept her going, the influx of gold is now cut off thanx to a really stupid nerf of her ult. I'm going to have to shift my fav hero now...

If you could count it you'd understand that Drow has been f'ed in the A. Agility gain dropped 1 per level, and the ult "makes up for it", so the net change on her is +5 agility and -20% maim. What a trade!

the old ulti, didn't it just give trax a chance to slay creeps with one arrow? nothing more? to get a last hit with trax is extrelmy easy since her high dmg.
the new ulti is too weak. bradwarden got 12/24/36 and drow just 10/20/30

I like drows ulti now its far from weak becauseher agility adds to her ranged damage and you have an aura to increase that so instead of 30+ damage its more like 30% of 30 + 30 damage so it amounts to around 40 damage not including regular attack damage or items or stats. people dont realize drow needs aura early not frosts for damage later on so she can devastate. getting kills early with imba damage is the best strategy, as many ppl say early game "fed drow = GG"
nope not a good ulti because the older traxex can farm more so more items can be build like butterfly easily attained when using older traxex

last skill at level 3 gives traxex a built in butterfly, combine it with another butterfly and kapow, walking machine gun...with frost arrows and silence there's little chance to escape drow
new ulti is much better since it gets aura as well and you dont need the % to kill creeps since you can 1 or 2 shot kill them anyway besides the old uti only activates only so often and its no help vs. heros so give me her new one anytime.
i like the ulti, its pretty good and at late game, it does eventually one shot creeps with 2 lvl 4 items. true shot aura amplifies that damage too, so at lvl 3, u actually get u 38 damage

SH'e more faster than ever since the markmanship's use has changed and it now gives 10,20 and 30 agility per level. Well, its like Bradwarden's Great Fortitude but this one is more awesome.
+30 agi is super cool!!! A single plus in agi worth more than one in str or int. But WTF with the mega-nerf of minus 1 agi per level? It's just like changing the ultimate from creep slaying markmanship into a plus 5 to agility!!! +5 agi as an ultimate skill? Now that's what i call TRASH!!! Lets just buy boots of elvenskin then, +6 agi. Thanks for the total nerf, icefrog!!!

min_tea[bbc] you are so wrong. This ulti can make Traxex near invincible her vs. a creep wave. This can kill one creep in one shot. This hero is ultimate for farming.
However...
1. 1 vs 1 If you're not Traxex RUN RUN
2. 1 vs 1 If you have a stun or slow, or like hex, hex her and run away!
Point is she activates her frost arrows you're good as gone! ~She slows you down and while you are at half life and running 70% without blink or teleport you will die.
drow ranger's last skill is better now becausse she became more a hero killer type.... the +30 damage stacks with trueshot aura....

Dont get her life steal at all dude get her a bfly, a buriza, a lothars, threads,and a mkb and a divine if u want cause u can runaway and still hav ur divine but first get a boots of speed and a lothars then get ure threads plus ure ulti givs u +10 extra dmg

Noobs seem to pick pick this hero alot, but if u get Lothars she cant be killed and the ulti sucks i know but combined with trueshot aura its pretty good, i usually run around with like +300dmg kickin butt

I tried 2 bashers on her and it worked well..
You can get S&Y with lothars at her.
Usually, I play her with frost arrows as my first skill-> Not for the slow effect, but to attack my enemies while the creeps do not attack me.
To do this, get a creep on 2-shots-left-till-it-dies.
anyone would like to deny that, but when they get near, press frost arrow hotkey
(which is (r) ) and click on the foe. Enemy creeps wont attack you in this way. BTW, traxex earlygame is not like mortred. She sends enemies back 2 fountain with the trick I said. XD
yea...b'coz spell attacks does not trigger the enemy creeps to attack you.
Lothar's for drow is overrated imo. The damage it gives for its gold is pretty terrible and its effect isn't that great.

I'd recommend you Satanic,dude, cause she already has pretty good slow; and about the Dagon - I wouldn't use it. Drow kills with pure dmg, so I would spend 3k on something that wouldn't be useless late game - build buriza (1 or 2), MKB, Butterfly, Lothar's and so on

I BEGAN TO USE TRAXEX WHEN HER ULTI CHANGED, IT LOTS BETTER!! WHO FACE HIM 1 ON 1 WILL DIE,, SILENCING INT HERO AND SPAMMING HER FROST ARROWS WITH PAINFUL DAMAGE,, SLOWING MELEE HERO SO THAT THEY CANT GO NEAR HER,, BUYING LOTHAR TO GIVE SURPRISES AND ESCAPING,... WOW!! GREAT FARMING HERO!!
