Great hero to use, sprint is perhaps the best skill here. use it wisely, you'll realise that your slithereen guard will never die. Treads,BlinkDagger, MKB, 2Wraithband / Bracers. (apem) should do a pretty good job. MOM will be a cheap alternative too actually.

Start off with boots, tango, and a gauntlet of strength. Just save up for hyperstone and you'll pwn any hero from there out. Get bash level 4 as soon as possible with this guy.

ok a few comments and questions..
Do Twin Cranium Bashers stack with his 'Bash'? i was told they didnt and rendered it useless - could someone plz clarify?
Also, using Stygian Desolator (-6 Armour) does that have any effect on his ulti - Amplify Damage? It would suck if it cancelled it out or anything. Its hard for me to tell what stacks and what doesnt.

BTW i think saying Blink Dagger is a stupid mistake - With a S&Y (which slardar should most definately have) + Treads, Using Sprint will boost your MS to 522. No point in blink dagger imo. MoM is quite good for Slar, atsp is the key not hp (HoT)

why do u need 2 bashers? his first skill already gives him a chance to bash. one or none should be enough. btw why do u need MoM if his MS is goin to be 522 if he uses sprint? if u wana increase his attack speed, by Butterfly. My combination for this guy would be PT, Hyperstone, Basher, Butterfly, Lothars (mainly for sneaking and fleeing) and Empty Flask (replace with buriza or crystalys if u can afford it).

Typical pusher/chaser. SY and BoT is suggested or butterfly and hyperstone. Sheepstick for those annoying int heros. Sheep them before they sheep you ofc :D.

I see alot of guinsoo and MoM floating around. You're better off getting BKB or Linkens instead of guinsoo since they have more stats you need. MoM is a nice waste of 2000 gold once you get sprint.

Can anyone confirm if getting bashers overrides his bash skill?

Slight fix:
MoM would be good early game, but he doesn't have enough hit points to take +20% damage early on. By late game you should have enough ias from items like hyperstone, SnY, and Butterfly. Totally a preference item

Slardar is my Favorite!! here's my build Power Treads,Sange and Yasha,2 Cranium basher,Heart of Tarasque and Desolator.. but i warn you if slardar reaches lvl 11 or lvl 16 your dead!!! dont put amplify on lvl 6 its only -5 armor.. put amplify on lvl 10..

Desolator is orb, basher isnt.

MKB cancels ALL previous stuns so MKB is not good for slardar cuz it cancels his bashing abilities...

Best for Slardar is : 2 bashers,power treads and heart.

butterfly is a big waste of money for slardar cuz he's str, if you want aspd, buy hyperstone, if i had that money for slardar to buy a butterfly, i'd rather buy a heart so you dont need to worry about taking 20% more damage from sprint, or maybe a buriza paired with a hyperstone...

hes already got natural bash, i dont see any real purpose of buyin a basher. and i know cranium basher isnt a orb effect, but there are some skills and items that cant override each other. butterfly doesnt only increase attack speed, gives evasion, it will help u very much when u sprint so ur damage taken would be less than normal

lupeman, slardar bash stacks with 2 basher...
i don't think slardar need S&Y or EoS because you have a 2.5 second stun with 8 secon cooldown. With 2 basher, your oponent won't move. And I also use MoM in early-mid game... not for chasing but leech life and aspd...
i don't think blink dagger, lothar's edge and deso is a good item for him... Just my opinion...

If he buys stygen he will go for an unstopable.

Dunno bout deso on slardar, he already has -15 armor... which is in all fairness a ton of armor reduction. The only thing I'd change is deso. Another hyperstone is always good, or a buriza for crits, or bfly if you're richer than shit.

Deso's -6 armor is pretty much neglected with slardar's ult.

Taking out deso and adding SNY would be a good idea since SNY adds run speed which is good for Slardar since he has 345 ms with PT. Sprint has too much of a cool down IMHO. In addition, the health (304 hp) and attackspeed (36%) is awesome for him.

3. MoM (y? coz of lifesteal of course and the active berserk.)
4. MKB (minor stun does not cancel his bash ability)

btw, thick skin is classified as armour, look at spirit bear when he gains resistant skin or something

PT, HoD, basher, SnY, heart and butterfly. People will suggest desolater and assault cuirass, but unless the other team buys armour items, its a bit overkill.
with SnY and sprint activated, u get max speed + if ur slowed, it will give u adequate speed that can save u from near deaths.
if ur constantly bein killed though, save up for either lothars or blink dagger. lothars can be countered though

Battlefury (for abuse crush, fast farming and damage, MUST GET)
Desolator (-6 armor and add damage)
Buriza (Add damage)

Because int hero = low armor low life.. Amplify them from far, sprint, avatar and crush.. well not much to say... dead. -21 armor is painful enough + high damage = 3, 4 hit dead.

Getting battlefury is because you need perseverance in the early state to abuse crush in farming as int hero will surely pressure you. It also help in later state fast farming.

Vs Str
Boots of Travel (+ sprint(lvl4) = 522speed)
Desolator (-6 armor + damage)
Assult (-5 armor and add attacke speed)
Heart (For stand the long battle with Str Hero)
2 basher (increase bash %)

Since lifestealer and Faceless void are hard to kill 1v1 hero, we have to use perm basher to kill them. If you cant bash them, you lose..

This hero is too cool but look ugly lol. Not much of a team player except for the crush. A super hero for 1v1..

i think he should be a DPS hero. Deso is a good item for him IMO, just stun, amplify, attack. Oh, cuirass work wonders too...

i dont understand why people get both desolater and assault cuirass. -26 armour is pointless because its too overkill, not to mention it doesnt do anything, at late game, 20 armour is the average armour most heroes will have. the damage reduction is 0%, it wont go into negatives

u wanna more armor reduce? use VS and tidehunter.. u will cry for help X= the armor reduce like nuts if they cast all the reduce armor thingy to him.. hahaha

To be honest, the basher is not really needed, because slardar doesn't really need to chase, even with sprint. With deso+amp+BDK+other damage increments+ the possibility of teammates attack the enemy = enemy is dead. Seriously dead.

Lategame, Slardar will defeat most heroes. 1v1, Slardar is just undefeatable.

My build is really what you should get if you want to be a real killing machine. Ranged creeps will die in 1 hit, melee in 1 hit, or maybe 2 hits.
Here's a scenario
It was a 5v5 -ap game on bnet, teams were
Scourge
1.Slardar(me, soloed toplane)
2.Dwarven Sniper(mid)
3.Broodmother(mid)
4.Vol'Jin(bot)
5.Sand king(bot)
Sentinel
1.Sceptre(bot)
2.Dirge(top)
3.Centaur(bot)
4.Clinkz(mid)
5.Bane elemental(mid)

Early game I totally controlled Dirge. With slithereen crush and bash I got him back to the fountain very quickly.
Mid game I attained hyperstone, started almost killing Dirge, then first blood happened when I got dirge to low HP, then Dwarven finished the kill :).
Late game I reached all those items, and when I met mecurial, a amp+1 hit+crush+ whack x 3 = m-m-m-monster kill! I hunted down centaur, with an amp+reduction from deso+ crit from BDK, he got from 3.4k health to 900 health in about 5 seconds. 1 more hit, he got to 3xx health due to my BDK, and sniper finished it up.

This shows that Slardar can screw even a high HP tank, who had a army of creeps there too. I left the place with 2xx health. Not bad considering I was getting double edged+stomped+creep attacked.

base on my experience when i use his amplify damage?? awwwts men,, -26 againts enymies!! wow even the hp of opponents character is 3k and there armor is 10-20 is useless.. 4-6 hit is enough to kill them with that hp! the BKB is so helpful if you choose slardar in team play game even in 1-1 match!! his unstopable i mean....

PT - Basher - Desolator - Assault - Heart

the bash isn't important important thing is armor penalty with this hero try to get all items which gives armor penalty such as desolator and assault after those 2 try 1 basher and 1 HoT in late game u should have :

Even with just these items you can own one on one, so the others are up to you but...

These two turn him into a bit of a tank, you can even sometimes take on two at a time, and still win/ kill one and escape.

Maybe this question have been answered before, but...

Cranium basher(15%) stack with Bash(25%)?

Yes, Bashers stack with natural bash so Slardar has

0.25 or 25% chance to bash (no craniums)
0.25 + 0.15*0.75 or 36% chance to bash (1 cranium)
0.36 + 0.15*0.64 or 45% chance to bash (2 craniums)
So with 2 craniums your chance to stun went from 25% to 45.

For the price of 2 craniums you could have 3 hyperstones, which would give you plenty of stunlock. Hell, slardar can stun just fine with 1 hyperstone and some treads, who needs bashers? Better to get BKB and/or heart than try for permabash.

Buy basher. For me, i'll buy 2 bashers so 30% = 25% = 55^ bash in each of ur hits. Buy a hyperstone. 1.1 sec stun is enuf to hit ur enemy twice without a hyper stone. With hyperstone u can hit ur enemy three times i tink in 1.1 sec, thus increasing ur chances of stunning ur opponent again.

What has sprint got to do with permabash??

And armor gets into negative lol.
Also, 1 armor is equivalent to about 6% increased or decreased HP. So it does not stack diminishingly.

You don't need to use 2 bashers?!...WTF!...his 3rd skill is passive so why will you use 2 bashers!!!...His 3rd skill depends on the AS so just simply use an AS gears such as threads and cuirass. Put HoT in the later part when ur already owning and that will do!...

A realistic item build for Slardar! Not like others that say Treads > 2x heart, Buriza, etc... Slardar owns midgame so you should build him for that, then go for luxury items later.

You will be doing a lot of chasing using sprint, so high attack speed is not needed. You only get the chance to attack every few seconds.

MoM or Desolator? I think MoM cause of the increased MS and ASP. Though if desolator, the enemies' armour would go down like shit. XD

I love it when im using this guy and im laning against riki or anyone who depends on windwalk. its just pure ownage from lvl 6 onwards. i played a slightly noob riki once who didnt know my ulti tracked him :D he got well angry

I don't think Desolater is necessary. The Amplify Damage on Autocast is more than enough.

Actually, will be writing a guide that doesn't use it, and the strat seems to be working fairly well. It has the POSSIBILITY of a desolater, but it's not necessary. Plus, it costs a moral messload of gold in comparison to other items that will do just as well.

u just pwn them after that. just stun and hit. mkb and bash will just pwn them.

Only and idiot would put MKB on him since the mini stun from the MKB cancels "any previous bash"; if you want more damage get Buriza

Furthermore, Cranium Basher and Bash only stack in a very limited way.
They don't add to 40% chance to bash.
You just get two chances two stun.

(25% Bash) + (75% non-Bash * 15% CranBash) = 25% + 11,25% = 36,25%
One Basher only increases the Chance to stun by 11,25%.

I think this justifies a CB, but I'd prefer boosting up my AS even more, since it would deal even more damage too.

But a third Basher increasing Stunchance by aprox. 9,6 isn't worth the space.

Does Amplify Damage seem good now? Because here's an update: mana cost instead of 75/100/125 is now a constant 25 at all levels! 25 mana cost is like nothing at all

all you need is a desolator. 4 seconds of whacking your opponent should be more than enough. If you're up against a blinkers etc with escape mechanism, get an orchid. It's pretty darn good on slardar but nobody just seems to realise it.

MoM is better, cause your ult already greatly reduces your enemy's armor; and beside the great att spead, MoM also gives lifesteal you know
