the ulti is a rip off version of the other heroes that can use it, cept with the slow movement bonus. i cant play long term damage. mages and rangers could kill this hero, so lothars a must

you definitely need a buriza or MKB for this hero and not forgetting the butterfly for the cool evasion and aspd

fav hero! his ulti almost GUARANTEE'S a kill when ganking

Viper is one of the best heroes I know together with Venomancer! Noticed that name of Viper and Venomancer starts with "V"? Beware of poison coz it might be the the last thing that could injected in you! An outstanding hero he is indeed! TANK you!

well...Viper is a good hero he can definitely strike! he's a good hero-killer Frenzy can definitely wreck havoc on the opponent and poison attack can slow heroes and follow it up with Viper Strike for the kill.

an annoying early game hero.i always get the first blood when using him.

I buy maesltrom for viper if my team needs a pusher.... just frenzy and see enemy creeps fall.

I recently randomed this hero. I got a beyond godlike streak for !25! kills . I found that the thing that worked best for me , was waiting until the other teams tanks were occupied on their pushes, and then chasing down their casters.

when it comes to pushin though, not so good, (unless u plan to poison attack each individual enemy that comes ur way so they r all slowed) pickn of soloing gang members FTW!

This hero is a great support and killer because of his poison attacks and his viper strike

lolz refresher. unless ur vs'n multiple heroes at once (not advised) then u can get refresher. Viper is good at pickn off soloing heroes

I now theyre both orbeffect but if you buy Satanic and Manta would you be able to make your illusions? and would you and them steal your enemies HP?

another question.. is it better to use FRENZY after or before making your illusion with MANTA?

Nobody uses manta on viper. OMG Images don't have frenzy and poison attack. All that is just make-believe. And it's silly, you can't cast poison-attack anymore, you can't orb-walk at all, the whole item is useless on viper. I don't know why but ppl keep putting unwanted items on some heroes, manta on viper, lifesteal on harbinger. Are you all being serious or is this just theorycraft?

Viper is a Great Killer. Most efficient Slower. He can slow down enemies very fast. So that he can rescue alied heros from enemies

Haven't more hitpoints. Be care on Stuns. it is better to use life steals for Viper. Since he has high attack rate he can cast very fast.

Can someone make another guide for this hero???? I kno there's one already but it felt like it was too short...

the best hero amd he goes deadly killer with radiance within 13 lvl...then proceed with either bkb or heart..then buriza ...why did the dota creators make him so insane..

i dont think it is better to put lothars edge cause you can kill one hero face 2 face and i think i shall add S&Y FOR HIS ITEM great attack speed as a result and can kill hero more fast

For Viper, my strategy is... If 1 vs 1 start with a boots of speed n gloves of haste plus Yasha, then go and farm for money. After that, go for power treads n Sange. At the mid game go for Sange n Yasha and Butterfly. This hero now rocks!!! At the end game, get this hero a MKB, Buriza n Assault. This hero is now UNSPOTABLE!!!

Can anyone answer this: does poison attack act like an orb effect? Because when I got Mjollnir with him, it never did chain lightning when poison attack was on autocast. It doesn't say orb effect, but i think it actually is..... anyone???

Yeah im pretty sure it is an orb effect cos i have come across that before (very disapointing wen u complete the recipe and it doesnt f#ckin work hey lol)

my usual build for this guy wud be power treads, vanguard, 2 butterflies, cuirass.. the 6th item is just optional. great harrasser early - mid game and also a hero killer. poison is cool!

u should farm for 3.8 k(sacred relic) in 10-15 min. for this hero.

Giving him a vanguard would be more practical.. With a larger hp, it would make him more confident in harassing the enemy..

Viper isn't really that strong. He only rules in the early game... In the lategame, his poison wouldn't be enough for a kill.. But he is very useful in tournaments, his slowin skills allow his team mates to assemble an attack...

well at first lesale has way more health but his mana is very low

viper has like some sort of agi stats
but needs a lot of item to make it strong and not like a weak hero.

so at early game lesale should have an advantage over viper unless viper has anything that increases hp and strength
viper should be careful of lesale because he'll 70 percent of the time get pwned by lesale in early game.

in mid game viper should be having almost having exact same stats or even more than lesale but still needs to watch out because lesale 75 percent sure
lesale will get lothars edge which can make him invisible.viper should be able to kill lesale 1-3 times and vise versa with lesale with the kills

late game lesale is still strong and viper is strong so both should be careful of each other. viper should kill lesale more than lesale can kill viper because viper has high stats by late game

conclusion
viper vs. lesale is an interesting match
against the two
viper will be stronger than lesale but with less hp but higher armor if u have the right items. lesale has high attk but should be three fourths or even lower than viper but has the hp thing but his armor is lower.
viper's skills and attk should easily pwn lesale

viper is my favorite hero but the other day i was playing a game and i found out that if your opponent has a linken sphere you are screwed because vipers poison attack douse not deactivate the linken's and basically your viper strike is useless cuz linken's cool down is only 60 seconds. douse anybody know of a good linken counter??? (i think its very gay that poison attack (which uses Mana) doesn't activate the linken's disentangle someones gotta change that imo)

today was my first time with viper and i teamed up with faceless void. i could see how helpless rhasta and luna was whenever i say "VIPER STRIKE! ). i read and followed the COOOOOOOBRRAAAA guide even before i started using him. i pretty much followed everything except the skadi build (i heard frost atk and poison atk dont stack. is that true?), the vanguard build (i've been re-trained to win w/o using vanguard anymore), and i didn't put frenzy early game. after the game my friend told me i shouldnt've combined SnY & mkb, i should've gotten buriza instead of mkb. why?

btw the reason why i've been retrained not to use vanguard because here in the philippines they say that vanguard is forbidden to be used in official tournaments and "gamble matches" (battles where you bet your money on who you think will win). one thing i'm fascinated about is that us dota games last very long, that's why i'm so shocked whenever i read words like "build 2 tarrasques, build 4 bloodstones, etc. here in the philippines once a hero gets his signature item, the battle's over. once i played lich in a 4-on-3 and the battle ended so quickly i couldn't even finish building aghanims!

The skadi effect will work as long you don't have poison attack on autocast.

i never auto-cast. what if you're only hitting on creeps? are you gonna waste 20 mana per hit on a creep?

Skadi aint a good item for viper because the slow from skadi is 30% and from PA it's 40%... Better buy attack items

HoT is a ownage item for Viper.. stacks with his passive and that will be together 50% magic reduction!!!

Amazing...I was loving Yurnero and Lina Inverse before I found Viper. I think a Linken's sphere is clutch for this guy since his mana and HP starts out so low.

pareho pala tayo ng buo e... PAREHO PA TAYONG PINOY!!! but i don't use defiance unless my enemy is a magicman (someone like lion who has strong skills), and besides your 3rd skill is like a defiance. something i recently tried is treads, radiance, 2 butterflies, and d rest is up 2 me.

Viper is indeed one of the most awesome heroes you can play. He's really fun to use when all enemies are melee . He owns early game and with the right items, can easily own midgame and lategame. Buriza and MKB on this hero. Lothar's is a must when there is a stunner on the other team.

Viper is very strong begining and ending hero. .He strong in all level. It can kill agi & intel easyly and not too hard to kill strengh. .

And trust me . .His poison is lot sadist rather Veno in last game since it will slow both speed and attack speed. .
