Slain for sins of heresy by men who declared themselves holy, death only gifted Rotund'Jere with an immense wrath for the living, that he can express by sending evil spirits at his foes. Taking pleasure and growing more powerful every time a living thing dies by his hands, each step of his reeks of death, and his very presence makes living things rot and wither. Now a master of torture and pain, the Necrolyte mercilessly slays any weaklings who might cross his path, always with a nasty smile on his dead face.

The Necrolyte releases a wave of death from the core of his being, dealing damage to enemies and healing allies.
Level 1 - Deals 75 damage and heals 50 HP.
Level 2 - Deals 125 damage and heals 75 HP.

Level 4 - Deals 275 damage and heals 130 HP.

Death Pulse can't be evaded by moving or blinking.
Can heal magic immune units.

Heartstopper Aura Heartstopper Aura (T)
The deathly air stills the hearts of his opponents, causing them to lose a percentage of their max health over time.
Level 1 - Deals 0.4% of the max HP of the target per second.
Level 2 - Deals 0.6% of the max HP of the target per second.
Level 3 - Deals 0.8% of the max HP of the target per second.
Level 4 - Deals 1.0% of the max HP of the target per second.
Damage type: HP removal
Damage counts as negative regeneration, and will thus not disable abilities or items like Kelen's Dagger which requires player based damage.
Area of Effect: 1000
Mana Cost: N/A

Sadist Sadist (I)
Reveling in death and pain, the Necrolyte gains mana back for killing units.
Level 1 - Regains 12 mana.
Level 2 - Regains 24 mana.
Level 3 - Regains 36 mana.
Level 4 - Regains 48 mana.
Sadist is also triggered by denies.

Cooldown: N/A
Reaper`s Scythe Reaper`s Scythe (R)
Brings a target to full realization of its own mortality, dealing damage based on how much life the target is missing. Stuns for 1.5 seconds.
Level 1 - Deals 0.4 (0.6*) damage per hit point missing and stuns.
Level 2 - Deals 0.6 (0.9*) damage per hit point missing and stuns.
Level 3 - Deals 0.9 (1.2*) damage per hit point missing and stuns.
Mana Cost: 175(150)/340/500
Cooldown: 100/85/70 (70 at all levels with Scepter)
Damage type: magical
Damage is dealt at the end of the stun.
Disable works on magic immune units.
Casting range: 600
Can be improved by Aghanim's Scepter (* shows the improved values).

Eul is also a nice mana regen item if you can't farm guinsoo well but the disable(cyclone) is not as good as hex.

meka is only good if you can farm it fast.if you can't, you might get mana problem since you delayed mana regen item.

my build:
-courier,4gg branch,1tango,2clarity

-soul ring(like omni,I can spam pulse.nice item with cheap regen)
-hex(great mana regen to spam pulse,great disable)
-shiva(great tanking item,have active skill which is deal 200 dmg at 719 area,better than dagon i think)

if the game drag so long, choose to buy linken or bloodstone.dagon is also good to try if you are crazy in KS.

What about Arcane boots? Though I think STR PT is really needed, good survivability.

Boots of choice:
Phase or PT.
Phase makes lasthitting easier for beginners, while PT gives some nice INT/STR boost. Take those 2 nulls, a Magic wand and go toward your scepter. After finishing scepter, think about Hex. Or maybe even go for vanguard as first item and scepter for second, but beware, this way youll be lacking some mana without mana baterries.

if you want to boost your dmg either get int treads, phase, or a null or 2.

dont spend 1850 gold on an item thats useless on the hero.

I am going to give it a try anyway. Necrolyte is very bad at base attack and this makes last hitting very difficult. This is somthing to remedy early on. And I find death pulse is a skill based on making a difference between your health and enemies' health by 405 points. In some circumstances standing is better then running away. Standing and sucking their life away may be something helpful early on. Armor and it's active skill, Dominate can be truly an asset.Thanks for discussion it was helpful

your dmg comes from hear stopper aura and spamming your pulse.
you have a bad attack animation, an even worse attack speed, and a very pitiful bas dmg. why would you want to improve that?
improve what your good at, and that is your spells. you improve them by getting mana and tankiness to be able to spam it.

Point of death pulse - spam. While its effects may not be that much, stack them over 10 seconds, you're giving a free 400 hp heal to allies around you. That's a lot. Heartstopper is like a radiance with a way larger AoE, all you need to do is tank up and sit there, and the enemy takes damage. I normally just spam press D in the middle of a teamfight, it needs to be spammed that much.

Hmm... I am planning to try helm of dominator early on, since it is very cheap and could prove useful. Not only for life steal but also for armor, atk damage and most importantly "dominate" ability; only for 1850 gold. What do you think about it? Bonus damage may also help for sadist to be more effective.

strategy is defence.

you usually tank up to do maximuim dmg and heal in a team fight with your aura and deathpulse.

getting some mana too would be nice.
usually go with eaither scepter or vangaurd, hex or shiva (eventually getting both), pipe, HoT, bloodstone, etc...

there are alot of good items to get for necro.(usually tanking ones tho.)

I continue from here because of character limit...
I did not really understand what death pulse can be used as. It is pathetic for healing, bad for harassing, not a real asset in farming. Only a bit of useful in the middle of team clashes, or in pushing; but is far from making a real difference. Since it is the only active skill besides it's ultimate, which is a thorn in the players side since it is an int hero and kinda squishy. What is the strategy in playing with this hero? def or offense?

you know that you can skill heart stopper aura and leave the harrassing to it right?

get pulse, aura, sadist, pulse, pulse, ulti, pulse, then max aura.
1 lvl of sadist should suffice for the mana reg.
and the heart stopper aura is really annoying for your lane enemy. it should do the dmg for you. if they decide to come to you to attack, then pulse and run.
youll do way more dmg without bieng really hurt.

Hmm actually I try to last hit and I am normally ok with it. But necrolyte's attack animation hits the target in great delay, and I'm working on it to play better. But this is not the main issue I'm trying to deal with. Necrolyte is a bad harasser with skills, sadist is supposed to add some mana (which is often useful at harassing). This combination just makes me sick and inefficient in early game.
Besides item suggestions would be welcome.

@500 Mentioning DPS in the early games, sounds like you are autoattacking.
If you always get owned earlygame its you, not the hero.
Dont try to harass with Death Pulse. Too short range and you can easily be stunned. And after having used Death Pulse you really cant do shit before level 6. And tbh Death Pulse is generally not a good harassing tool Just play it safe and keep you and you ally alive with death pulse mainly. If you are not very good at last hitting. Aura>Sadist. U need item Suggest?

you are suppose to last hit with sadist, and harass with death pulse. having a ranged opponent means,if in middle lane, keep him downslope so he must climb up,which makes him close to you enough to be death pulse-ed.If you are at side lane,with allies.try to follow 1 with stun,to make death pulse easier to hit.also add at least a level of heartstopper aura to ruin their regen.

I need professional advice for this hero. I suck with it, always got owned early game very often. It's heal/damage looks pathetic even when escaping. My base damage per second is not very helping for me to fight as well. And there are not much of an skill to use despite being an int hero. Hmmm? any advice?
