Ulti is imba...I hate playing against Necro because of it...you're basically dead if you have half life, even if you're owning him.

By far one of the best heroes in dota, imo. Overall goodness and excellent skills.

Diffusion aura doesnt really seem to make a difference in late game and sometimes even in early game. That makes it a 9/10

aghanims isnt necessecary until late game. i got BoT, soul booster (later aghanims) dagon, refresher, and if it goes on longer a cyclone stick

setoxc, diffusion aura is a great support skill. You can take a pretty big beating and keep on healing your mates with death pulse (also damaging enemies).

I tried the dagon approach a few times and i don't like, any other item builds for this guy that are more mm... useful? Dagon-scythe is so effective but its literally putting your whole hero into wtfpwning one guy. Walk up to a guy, pulse, dagon, scythe, +250 gold. But the next guy comes along and you cant do anything >

300 movement speed is average for heroes.
i wouldve replaced bracers with couple of circlets, its cheaper and u can always use death pulse to heal urself if needed to (if u position urself right, u can kill some enemy creeps as well and get some mana back from Sadist)

mekanism,dagon,,aghanim and refresher can own u opponent to death.Even Though Death Pulse Heal u,when facing tanker u can use mekansim to make ur opponent flare up and death pulse again,dagong,ulti...ifnv die
refresher orb and ulti can do the trick...save dagon for another hero incase they suddenly appear from nowhere... tis may not be the best way to kill but is one ofthe way to OWN UR opponent...

at early game you should purchase atleast only bracers and den dagon1, meka, euls, aghanims, den put your euls into guinsoo den no one can stop dis hero with that.. simple..

Guys... try this out. THis is my "walking team fountain" build: arcane, boots, mekansm, eul's, skadi, finish guinsoo, finish boots of travel, and then sell arcane and get whatever fits your fancy. Your team will WORSHIP you for the constant mana and hp boosts and emergency 250hp + armor from mekansm. Also helps keep the whole team alive much, much longer during pushes if you keep spamming death pulse. Idea is to keep healing team while they bring other guys within hp range of your ulti. hehe... gg

Get a refresher with aghanim

Pudge is an anti-intel hero. So is Rikimaru and Anti-mage. Lots of anti-intel heroes, just be smart.
refresher is kinda a risk, u wont always knock down two heroes down to half health and can waste ur money. some heroes can tank multiple spells and physical damage but still hav something like 70% health left

I call this guy the tank-buster. I watching love 5k hp centaurs run around like they own the place then get murdered once they get below 50%.

Almost as imba as Terrroblade in 1vs1... Dagon-Ulti early on is just unfair, and most Mage-Killers/Permabashers cannot match his pushing ability.

Not to mention he usually has a herd of creeps around him... and can use Euls to kill yours and heal right under your butt.

Images come to mind, but are easily beaten/distinguished by DP.
Pudge can work IF you hook him out of his creeps and kill before he diables.
Axe maybe... hard call.

ei...how about in an early game? with lvl 1 Reaper's could you kill a half-life-d opponent? considering that you are in a close range of Levels

early game, support, late game killer. (if u buy dagon, then its early game killer also, but wont work on strength heroes, dagon, reaper usually works for intel and few agility heroes)

items for necrolyte:

1.Bot - increased movement speed
2.Aghanims Scepter - more damage and mana boosts ultimate
3.Dagon - for high HP heroes ull need this for them to lose some HP
4.Orchid Malevolence - inc. attack speed and silence
5.Shiva's guard - increase your armor and it goes well w/ ur diffusion aura, 200 damage and slows enemies for 40% since u don't have stun this is quite usefull for chasing or escaping
6.HoT - so you would last longer or something like that

Necro has to be one of the most imba heroes there are. Even without items, he can still own the game. Death Pulse does a whopping 275 AoE damage and 130 AoE heal every 5 seconds. Reaper's Scythe alone generally means a sure kill for opponents with less than half HP (and try topping that off with Dagon!)... If he's paired up along with Bloodseeker, the result is clearly SURE DEATH.

i just started really trying to play necro and hes so awesome late game with the build i have.

early game:
go either boots or treads, maybe BoT if u need it but with treads u can do so much physical damage to people. then you can either go meka or just tech up straight to guinsoo.

Late game: have guinsoo, orchid, treads or BoT, BKB, Skadi, and either buriza or aghamins.... its my battle necro build.

After completing aghanim's, what would you guys farm for next? Many of you like refresher, but what do you guys think of guinsoo's/shiva/orchid instead?

try using HOD,vanguard,euls,linken,heart with him,ur sertified killer...all he needs is armor,hp n mana regen bec of his death pulse n diffusion aura..36% reduction...mind that..then farm with skadi..damage is not so impt to him,just depend on your deathpulse having 5 sec cool down...his very hard to face 1 on 1..just beware of stunners n permabahers..

i don't get refresher with him, my money is better spent upgrading dagon, so my ult will work fine the FIRST time.

Instead of Aghanim's, you should seriously consdier Skadi. It is just a myth that half life= dead. The damage is not pure or like Axe's Ulti. It is reduced by magic reduction and all heroes have at least 25%.
So your enemy need to have at least 40.3% life (without magic reduction item at level 4) With Aghanim's ur enemy needs to have at least 45%. So it actually doesnt improves a lot.
Skadi gives about the same stat and also a frost attack. Necro has no stun+slow so i think skadi is good 4 him

No AGHANIM! It only adds 0.2 damage per life loss. 1000 life loss only deals 200 damage ==> useless. Its too expensive dont get that.
NO REFRESHER! CD is 210 sec. Necro's ulti is 70 sec. Can use it 3 times before CD is over!
Don't get BOT as first item. Bonus 40 movement speed of 350 is only 10% increase. Not till late game for travel.
The only way Necro can win every single fighter and magic caster is to tank.

Best setup so far was already posted by weezing22arbok but some noobs came after that thinking "No Aghanim's, Necro should TANK"..

Lite-version of that setup would be:

-BoS
-Dagon (1)
-Aghanim's
-Refresher

Costs around 15k only. Head up to your opponent and use Dagon-->Ulti--->Refresh-->Repeat.

After a couple of these, the game is over or you've upgraded into the elite-version and will be ending the game rather quickly.
