Rheya no longer remembers her former life among the Night Elves. She served the Sentinel for centuries, a champion among the warriors of Elune - until the Scourge came, and the Lich King's will entered her mind. She now serves the Scourge as the dreaded Shadow Lyth - still alive, still a Night Elf, but totally bent to the dark will of the Lich King. She uses her ancient bow and the power of the Shadow to assassinate the enemies of the Frozen Throne, and her corrupted abilities can blind the Sentinel to the happenings on the battlefield, plunging their world into unnatural darkness.

Cripple Shot (T)
Rheya cripples an enemy with a well-placed arrow, causing damage and slowing their movement speed for 4 seconds. Cast range of 500.
Level 1 - 50 damage. 10% slow.
Level 2 - 100 damage. 15% slow.
Level 3 - 150 damage. 25% slow.
Level 4 - 200 damage. 35% slow.
Mana Cost: 95/ 110/ 125/ 140
Cooldown: 12

Framework: A yellow-tinted arrow that strikes an enemy. When the enemy is struck, blood will spurt. Yum!

Notes: Does OK damage, but the real killer is the 4 second slow, oh yes.

Poison Arrows (R)
Rheya fires poison-tipped arrows, damaging enemies over time. Lasts 3 seconds. This Poison will not kill an enemy outright, but it will keep damaging them until the effect is over. *Damage stacks.
Level 1 - 5 poison damage per second - 15 total damage.
Level 2 - 8 poison damage per second - 24 total damage.
Level 3 - 12 poison damage per second - 36 total damage.
Level 4 - 16 poison damage per second - 45 total damage.
Mana Cost: 12
Cooldown: 3/2/1/0

Framework: Rheya's attacks/arrows gain green poison effect. Enemy will take damage until the effect is over, but will not die from the poison by itself. If the enemy gets down to 1 HP, they will remain at 1 HP until the Poison runs itself out - unless they have +17 or more HP regeneration per second...pfft

Notes: You can use auto-cast, but do so with care, as you need your other abilities too, oh yes. I nerfed/played with this a little bit, but if it still looks imba to you, please compare to Searing Arrows on the Bone Fletcher, or Impetus on the Enchantress, and realize that the "total damage" referred to is damage over time (3 seconds).

Shadow Walk (S)
Rheya becomes one with the the shadows, allowing her to move faster and take less damage in melee (>190 range).
Level 1 - Rheya moves 3% faster and takes 2% less damage in melee.
Level 2 - Rheya moves 6% faster and takes 5% less damage in melee.
Level 3 - Rheya moves 9% faster and takes 10% less damage in melee.
Level 4 - Rheya moves 12% faster and takes 15% less damage in melee.
Mana Cost: n/a
Cooldown: n/a

Framework: Rheya's tint becomes darker - but she does NOT get any harder to see. Just blacker/darker. Ends up with Red Tint: 75 / Blue: 50 / Green: 50

Notes: It's a passive skill, and a nifty one at that. If you're facing melee characters, anyway...

Midnight (D)
Covers targeted area in supernatural darkness. The enemy will not be able to see through this darkness, and will effectively be blind in this area - this also affects the mini map (though they will still be able to see themselves on the mini-map, they will not see allies or enemies). What is more, their attacks will have a chance to miss their targets, and they will be slowed. *Rheya and her allies will be able to see quite clearly, however. *1 second cast time.
Level 1 - 600 aoe. 6% slow/ 50% chance that attacks miss their targets. Lasts 4 seconds.
Level 2 - 700 aoe. 12% slow/ 60% chance that attacks miss their targets. Lasts 5 seconds.
Level 3 - 800 aoe. 18% slow/ 70% chance that attacks miss their targets. Lasts 6 seconds.
Mana Cost: 200/ 275/ 360
Cooldown: 180

Framework: Area of effect is covered with black fog/darkness for enemy players; they cannot see what is going on beneath it, but they can select units, etc. - like the Stealth Assassin's cloud. For you and your allies, the area is only shaded, and they can still see everything that's going on.

Notes: Rheya's defining skill. This ability can easily turn the tide of a battle, oh yes. Can also be used for you and your allies to escape a dire situation. If it could stand to be nerfed, lemme know.

SKILL SYNERGIES

Cripple Shot Poison Arrows

CRIPPLE SHOT + POISON ARROWS =

Your textbook method of Hero-killing 1v1. CS slows them down, allowing you to lay into them with Poison Arrows. Get used to this combo - it's a real killer, provided you've got enough mana.

Nightwalker Cripple Shot

SHADOW WALK + CRIPPLE SHOT

Allows you to chase your enemies down or escape their clutches, oh yes. Great against melee heroes in general.

Poison Arrows Shadow Walk

POISON ARROWS + SHADOW WALK

Since the Poison Arrows can't kill your enemies by themselves, it's always nice to be able to chase them down...

Midnight Cripple Shot Poison Arrows

MIDNIGHT + CRIPPLE SHOT + POISON ARROWS =

See above CS + PA, but add in the fact that the enemy cannot really fight back and definitely can't see what's going on. Quite deadly, but you'd have to have a pretty big mana pool to keep the Poison Arrows going after using those two other skills :P.

In any case, this is Rheya's signiture combo, and it's a doozie!

Midnight Shadow Walk

MIDNIGHT + SHADOW WALK

Excellent method of escape - though costly to both time and mana, as your ulti depletes both of those. Use only in dire situations!

Cripple Shot Poison Arrow Shadow Walk Midnight

All of Rheya's skills working together make her one deadly B.

Rheya is mostly a solo character, but anybody that can exploit Midnight is a great ally.

Nukers / damage dealers

Jakiro - The Twin Head Dragon Pugna - The Oblivion Viper - The Netherdrake

Can hopefully kill your enemies before they escape the area of effect.

Stunners / Disablers

Dark Terror - The Faceless Void Lion - The Demon Witch

These sorts can stop your enemies from leaving Midnight's area of effect, allowing you and your allies to confuse and destroy them.

Channelers

Crixalis - The Sand King

When Heroes with channeling spells are channeling, cast Midnight, and the enemy will not be able to see what's going on - and, therefore, won't be able to stop them from channeling!

You don't have a lot of hit points, and Shadow Walk does nothing to reduce ranged damage. :O

Jah’rakal - The Troll Warlord Rhasta - The Shadow Shaman

Melee Heroes can eat you up, Shadow Walk or not, if you're incapable of moving.

Tanks

Bradwarden - The Centaur Warchief Raigor Stonehoof - The Earthshaker

Again, you don't have a lot of hit points. They do. Just stay away from them, which shouldn't be too hard with Shadow Walk. TANKS THAT CAN STUN YOU are to be avoided.

FOES THAT WILL FEAR YOU

Low HP Heroes / Melee Heroes

Rikimaru - The Stealth Assassin

Particularly low HP melee Heroes.

Your combos can eat them alive if they're not careful - they will not relish the idea of fighting you 1v1.

Just imagine: Cast Midnight. They can't run away fast, because of Midnight's slow. They're missing with their attacks, and, because of Shadow Walk, their attacks aren't doing as much damage as they could. What's more, you're damaging them the entire time - hardcore style.

ITEMS

With enough mana, your abilities are extremely deadly. Anything that ups mana regen/capacity would be a plus!

Items with attack speed bonus are definitely a huge plus, what with auto-cast Poison Arrows and all.

Combine with mana-enhancing items to create a real killer, oh yes.

Also, any items that let you copy yourself make Midnight the ultimate confusion skill - cast Midnight, copy yourself, and send the copy out of the AOE in one direction (the one closest to your enemies), while you escape out the other!

The enemy will have a very hard time ganking you if they are chasing a ghost in the wrong direction.

*This is a build I'd go with, but remember that I suck with item builds, so grain of salt and all that...

Think of these as a "Dream Build," rather than "a set of items you could actually buy in a single game." Then again, some people are just good farmers like that :D

Lothar's Edge: The Wind Walk skill makes you quite a deadly assassin.

Butterfly: Evasion, mainly. Combined with Midnight, you will be quite untouchable...the attack speed with Poison Arrows rocks, as well.

Monkey King Bar: Increase attack damage/speed and critical strike. 'Nuff said.

Linken's Sphere: Mana regen, oh yes.

Boots of Travel: Rheya loves increased Movement Speed.

Blademail: Not only will a melee enemy deal less damage, they will be damaged in return! Oh, and survivability is always fun.

I'm sure there are plenty of other items that would supplement her skills...

NOTES:

Wanted a solo assassin Hero - a ranger type hero with corrupted "Night" abilities.

Went for good synergy, rather than unique abilities...the "less is more" type of "philosophy" :P

Changelog:

2007-05-14: Nerfed Shadow Walk and lowered the time of Midnight.
2007-04-24: Slowed her BASE attack speed a little. - Nerfed cooldown on Cripple Shot slightly - Lowered Damage on Poison Arrows/ made damage stack/ and they don't kill you by themselves now (see description) - Nerfed all effects on Midnight a bit, but added in a slow effect, and lowered the cooldown by 20 seconds. - Changed wording in Discussion Section accordingly.
2007-04-16: Changed up Poison Arrows: nerfed the damage/cooldown, lowered the mana cost a bit; look up Searing Arrows (Bone Fletcher) or Impetus (Enchantress) for a comparison. - Thought about changing Shadow Walk, but I like it, so :P. Changed wording in Discussion section accordingly.

This is a good hero with alot of synergy. I'm impressed. Hell this looks good enough to be put into the game as is.
Also @dARk_StAr_27: Searing arrows don't stack damage. The 100 damage you see is stacked poison damage One poison arrow only does 20 damage every 5 seconds. This hero kinda makes me think of Traxex. I love Traxex, so I'll give ya bonus points. 10/10

Reduce damage on Poison Arrow, maybe cut it to 3 seconds, its not as imba as it looks because thats actually 40 mana a hit, Searing Arrows is 8. Oh, it doesn't stack. Looks alright. I like the ult, its hard to find a creative ult these days. Rate after more comments.

Will most likely nerf poison arrows (3 seconds instead of 5 sounds good), and maybe rethink Shadow Walk as a more creative passive skill...

I know Poison Arrows are a bit dull, but I was going more for the overall synergy than 4 super-cool-unique abilities...

dude i love this idea. i would love to play this hero. i love the idea of the ulti to. but mabye add a slow to midnight?? seems like it would just be to easy for them to walk right out. kinda of like you can't see when it is dark so you go slower
lol if any one compared shadow walk to dopple walk luagh.
SW is passive and you don't go invis leaving a double.
i love this hero seems very practical

I did think about lowering movement speed within the AOE of Midnight...but I'd have to nerf the time/AOE if I did that, cause I thought it would be confusing/dangerous enough...
Oh yeah, and I didn't think Shadow Walk had much in common with Dopple Walk either

@expella - Perhaps if the times for the ulti were 6/ 8/ 10...?

@UnholY - As in it affects Heroes with less than 150 range...? I'm not clear as to what "1xx" range means, but I want to be clear, as that sounds like a better idea than just "melee damage..."

@Uruha - Maybe similar, sure...but I wasn't thinking of Balanar when I made her...

@Pico - haha I nerfed Poison Arrows already...but I was wondering if they were still too potent...

Midnight is going to be very horrible when used correctly. Nice ultimate there. At last, another night elf joining the ranks of the scourge. Good. And the storyline is good too, blends with the theme of TFT. Very attractive hero package, all in all, that could draw icefrog's attention.

Enemies have no chance to attack u and u can pawn them for 10 secs....
Cause if they dont see u they can never counter your ulti or something..they cant click on enemies etc....

I actuallly like your hero. Other than shadow walk that is. . . instead of 10/15/20/25 % damage reeduced, try 2/5/10/15.

i give it a 8/10 and if it gets a little nerfed, a 9.99/10 . JusT A BiT too imba for me

Make poison arrows do less damage, but get rid of the they will stay at 1hp part. poison should be able to kill.

also, i think it'd be cool if the shadow walk worked like the night elfs invisibility, where she would be invisible at night as long as she didnt move. would be awesome to become invisible and just wait for the enemy to push too far.

also, she could become invisible when using her ult if she standing still. this would manly be used to save ur own butt, not to kill. i like it tho.

overall, good hero. id like an alternative to playing drow.

Love it...except...2 things: Why Poison arrows? I say we have enough poison more dark. How about... Dark Arrows or Shadow arrow (stuff in that sort). Take away the damage over time and put in a new buff: Shadow Arrowed: Uhh...chance to miss...uhh...no hp/mp gain? Something new and creative. No hp and/mp gain might is probably really imballanced as soon as people look at how much hp/mp gain can be stopped taht way. (making it very potent late game).

Second thing i want to note was the ultimate, Midnight. It's a very powerful attack indeed infact, it's super incredibly overpowered for one fact. If they can't see anything in 800 aoe, how do they use any spells requiring targeting? Plus, if that's the case, it's pretty much the silencer's thing becuase the silencer himself usually only uses it when he's with his allies and they all go in at once against all the enemies, generally already within 800 aoe. ALSO you decidied to put in a miss rate making all the agi heros saying "Ha! i dont' need spells!" pretty much out of business... You use it and pretty much disable everyone because you also felt like putting in a slow. Other than that, the hero is very good. Oh and, you either taking away one or or the other, the miss rate and slow or the fog for the enemy (so the enemy can see).

Your wrong. Look at Rikimaru. His first skill is aoe, smaller and cannot cast sells. At level 4, and at level 7, it is already better then the SECOND level of Rheya's ulti.Except, the bigger range. It is NOT overpowered. And it is limited... u still have a chance to cast the spell even if it's not possible to see. Just look inbetween the spaces and click in the hero! Very nice hero, i want Icefrog to publish this hero,
Also, lessen up the manacost + the cooldown. 3 minutes is way too long - like a reincarnation reborn!

i like it but with the psn arrow with 0 cool down it will overall take a huge affect on the enemy and the crippling shot with that much slow ness. i saw it is like drow but with more slow and alot more harassment. wait till night and u will get jumped by her
