Once a Night Elf sorceress, Sesani's unusual appearance and power originated from years of imprisonment in the Twisted Nether. Her split personality makes her a challenging foe to face - spirited and playful at one moment, vicious and destructive at the next. Her dual magics can invigorate and heal, or curse and obliterate. During twilight, the boundary between day and night, Sesani is empowered and can use every one of her range of abilities with greater force. No matter which side she chooses to ally herself with, together they will be truly unstoppable.

Now...

WHAT THE HELL IS 'TWILIGHT'?

For the purposes of this hero idea, twilight is the period of time from (on the Warcraft clock):

  • One orb until the end of night until two orbs from the start of day (ie it lasts for two orbs' duration plus the time taken for the night->day transfer).
  • One orb until the end of day until two orbs from the start of night (ie it lasts for two orbs' duration plus the time taken for the day->night transfer).

When the clock reaches full orbs, twilight begins. When the clock reaches two orbs on the next day/night, twilight ends. Every other time is either day or night as usual.

... you know, the clock at the top-centre of the screen? With day and night orb thingies? That clock.

I was going to provide screenshots to explain that, can you believe it? This way is so much easier.

NORMAL Discussion Section:

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

High base Intelligence and Intelligence gain (22 + 3.0).

High base movespeed (315).

Very versatile with multiple spell-sets.

DPS potential with good (18 + 2.0) Agility and Noonlight/Twilight Vortex.

Great in big fights with all AOE spells.

Extremely powerful at twilight.

Inbuilt escape skill.

Cons:

Low base Strength and Strength gain (17 + 1.6).

Spells require a lot of mana, particularly during twilight.

Not nearly as useful during the day or night.

Not good in small fights where AOE isn't as effective.

Skill(Set) Description:

Noonlight RayNoonlight ShiftNoonlight Vortex

Day Spells: Sesani in support mode. From left to right: AOE heal, AOE vision buff, AOE AS+MS buff.

Night Spells: Sesani in hunter mode. From left to right: AOE nuke, AOE vision debuff, AOE slow.

Twilight Spells: Sesani in god mode. Each Twilight spell does BOTH effects from the day and night version of the spell, and with more power, higher mana cost, and lower cooldown.

Skill Synergy:

Shift -> Vortex -> Ray: Shift in on top of your target heroes (allies/enemies/both), speed them up or slow them down, then heal them or nuke them as appropriate.

Items:

Power TreadsGuinsoo`s Scythe of VyseOrchid MalevolenceShiva`s GuardEye of Skadi

  • Treads: Seeing as you have a Blink skill, you don't necessarily need the greater movespeed of BoT - and this, combined with Vortex and Orchid, makes you a powerful DPSer.
  • Guinsoo: Keystone Intel item - provides everything you need to spam your spells. And a disable.
  • Orchid: Because you are not satisfied with your spam yet. And attack speed. And another disable.
  • Shiva: More AOE. More armor, which will make you harder to kill combined with your good Agility gain (for an Intel hero).
  • Skadi: Makes you dangerous due to frost attack and massive due to everything else.
  • I haven't got a clue what to put down as item number six...

Allies:

Mana Heroes:

Rylai Crestfall - The Crystal MaidenEzalor - The Keeper of the LightArcane Ring

Anyone who can get you more mana is great, because you really need it!

Any DPS Hero:

Rikimaru - The Stealth AssassinLuna Moonfang - The Moon RiderKardel Sharpeye - The Dwarven SniperTraxex - The Drow RangerBlack Arachnia - The BroodmotherMortred - The Phantom Assassin

Just to name a few... you have an AOE attack-speed buffer, 60% of their attack power is a powerful thing.

Enemies:

Silencers:

Rikimaru - The Stealth AssassinNortrom - The SilencerPuck - Faerie DragonTraxex - The Drow RangerKrobelus - The Death ProphetLucifer - The Doom BringerOrchid Malevolence

Spell-reliant hero without spells. Uhh-huh, guess how long that'll last... for a hero with hp like Sesani, not long enough for the silence to wear off.

Disablers:

Slithice - The Naga SirenRylai Crestfall - The Crystal MaidenRooftrellen - The Treant ProtectorDarchrow - The EnigmaRhasta - The Shadow ShamanLion - The Demon WitchPudge - The Butcher

Blink skill, eh? So what - you can't move. Fat lot of good it does here...

Manaburners:

Magina - The Anti-MageAnub`arak - The Nerubian Assassin

Oh, gods. Evil. Get it off... also, AM can probably one-hit you with Mana Void and NA can combo you for the same effect.

In theory, every hero is an ally or an enemy - it just depends on which side they're on. The heroes in the sections above are examples and/or heroes to pay special attention to.

I think her ulti should also have an activated effect (with high cd), which will enable her turn on her twilight abilities for a short period of time. That, in my opininon, would make her a bit more balanced and it would solve the "Balanar issue"...

165 By rushinagin 2009-09-27

I like it, for an active ultimate you could make it so that instead of making it twilight, it could extend the next/current twilight for X seconds, this way there is no conflict with Night Stalker. For anyone who says she's unbalanced I disagree, she's got nerfed stats so I don't think she can solo or carry, but she'll gank well.

164 By denethor 2009-09-25

i like the idea, night it's not just for NS, but also this hero.

163 By neoh1994 2009-09-23

nice idea

162 By reddell 2009-09-08

I like the concept alot really but i think twilight time maybe need to nerf a bit cause its really very imba

161 By GilgameshX132X 2009-08-19

Nice idea i like it very much

160 By Thanatos_0400 2009-08-12

great idea and concept, but I agree with davidhh85, the timing would be hard and impractical. but still great idea

159 By Frost (Umbre)Ermerdung 2009-08-07

The name and concept is bad ass.
Constant adaptibility means youll never get bored playing with this hero, not to mention if your good itll be gg from the beginning. But that means learning how to make best of what time it is, cant wait for twilight that is just stupid and there are how many other heroes w/ u? Get over it, he can support when not twilight, kill when night, and do both any other time
Ps, the

158 By pythanean 2009-08-06

nice concept for a hero built..yet keep it coming..

157 By davidhh85 2009-08-06

But that's true... If she had an active ulti like Balanar's, what if bouth uses their ultis? Might wanna skip the active ulti after all . But I still don't like all the timing it would require for the team to wait for twilight.

156 By davidhh85 2009-08-06

Totally awesome idea. I don't see why some compares her to Invoker, I mean she's not complicated at all. I read the comment suggesting an active ulti working like Balanar's. I acually like the idea. I'd rather have an active ulti and nerf a spell / the spells during twilight, otherwhise it would require everyone on your team to keep the time of day in mind when pushing. I don't see that working playing in public games. Other than that I'd sure like to see Sesani in one of the upcoming updates!

155 By Yokan_Boladão 2009-07-25

I don't comment in any hero/item idea because i'm just a newfag. But this is great, I would love if was in any version of future dota. Oh, almost forgot, i think the idea of "choboroy" is just amazing, I dream with a game with Sesani and Balanar in the same team.

154 By Kaiman 2009-07-22

Very good work - best hero idea I've seen so far.

153 By choboroy 2009-07-21

Very nice team orientated support character! Her ulti should maybe be like balanars ulti with less duration and more cd perhaps, because she isn't very versatile as she is now. What about if her ultimate changes night to day (when it is night), day to night (if it is day) and increases the "twilight" duration (if it is twilight when cast). It wouldn't change her much, except make her slightly more versatile. The "false" day/night don't need to last long.

152 By pomlaos 2009-07-17

Wow good work shim. I'm impress. When I started reading it I saw a supporter after a while she turned into a nuker. Didn't expect that to happen.

151 By shukaku00 2009-07-16

Wah another 'Invoker'...hope the keys are the same even on twilight/noonlight/moonligt

150 By Kel_Thuzad 2009-07-07

too many skills make it a little bit confusing about the time. Just like Invoker

149 By Sprättis 2009-07-07

what version of dota ??? rly need to know

148 By vbv16 2009-07-06

For your last item I would personally get a Dagon because while your in support mode you dont have any damaging skills. Dagon can also be used for ruaway heros.

147 By herehell 2009-07-04

excellent hero pro with night stalker very confusing though but i can understand.
