Usually found in the battlefield only after the battle, Ikka Neryk is a scrapper, scavenging material from broken machinery and leftover weapons. He makes a profit by making salable items, but most of the material goes to his prized machine, the Legacy. He accepted an offer from The Sentinel to fund the development of the Legacy if he uses it in the battle against the Scourge. With its tough body and an array of functions at his command, Ikka and the Legacy are a formidable match in the battlefield.

Junk Launcher (R)
Fires a mass of junk at a target. The impact of the projectile disorients the target.
Level 1 - 100 damage. Stuns target for 4.25% of your current armor.
Level 2 - 180 damage. Stuns target for 5% of your current armor.
Level 3 - 260 damage. Stuns target for 5.75% of your current armor.
Level 4 - 320 damage. Stuns target for 6.5% of your current armor.
600 Range. Deals physical(hero) damage. Has a stun cap of 5 seconds(to prevent abuse with Guardian Angel).
Mana Cost: 100/120/140/160
Cooldown: 16 seconds

Framework: A metal ball projectile is fired at target.

Notes: Designed for better damage early game, better stun late game. Mana cost a bit hefty due to potentially high stun.

Protector (T)
Shields an ally unit from damage by erecting a barrier that allows the Legacy to take half of the damage for that unit. Damage to target uses Ikka's resistance values.
Level 1 - Target receives 50% damage. You take 50%*1.5 damage. Takes effect while in a 750 AOE from the target. Lasts 7 seconds.
Level 2 - Target receives 50% damage. You take 50%*1.25 damage. Takes effect while in a 1000 AOE from the target. Lasts 8 seconds.
Level 3 - Target receives 50% damage. You take 50% damage. Takes effect while in a 1250 AOE from the target. Lasts 9 seconds.
Level 4 - Target receives 50% damage. You take 50%*0.75 damage. Takes effect while in a 1500 AOE from the target. Lasts 10 seconds.
Mana Cost: 160 at all levels
Cooldown: 22 seconds

Framework: A barrier(circle surrounding target) appears when target is attacked while you are in the AOE.

Notes: A very good support skill to use your tank capabilities to help others.

Drain Barrier (D)
Drains energy from an enemy to erect a defensive barrier.
Level 1 - Target loses 3 armor. You gain 3 armor.
Level 2 - Target loses 4 armor. You gain 4 armor.
Level 3 - Target loses 5 armor. You gain 5 armor.
Level 4 - Target loses 6 armor. You gain 6 armor.
500 range. 8 second duration.
Mana Cost: 110 mana at all levels
Cooldown: 12 seconds

Framework: Red beam connects you and target, then disappears and a blue sphere appears around Ikka.

Notes: Increases your armor while decreasing theirs. Deal more, take less.

Recycle (E)
Ikka uses scrap material from fallen enemies to reinforce the Legacy's defenses. Some armor can be lost when damaged critically.
Level 1 - Adds 0.1 armor per creep kill. Adds 0.5 armor per hero kill. Cap bonus of 13 armor. Adds 7% magic resistance.
Level 2 - Adds 0.15 armor per creep kill. Adds 0.8 armor per hero kill. Cap bonus of 27 armor. Adds 14% magic resistance.
Level 3 - Adds 0.2 armor per creep kill. Adds 1.2 armor per hero kill. Cap bonus of 40 armor. Adds 21% magic resistance.
Loses 40% of the bonus armor when killed.

Framework: Similar to flesh heap or necromastery.

Notes: Very powerful tanking skill. It'll be hard to bring down when its armor is up.

Discussion:

SKILL SYNERGY:

Recycle + Junk Launcher: Great boost to stun.
Recycle + Protector: Both you and ally take less damage
Drain Barrier + Junk Launcher: Improves damage and stun to a degree.

ITEM SYNERGY:

Hp boosting items:More Hp means more survival.
Armor boosting items: improve survivability and stun of junk launcher.
Evasion: another way of boosting survivability.

HERO SYNERGY:

Strong, but fragile heroes (Tormented Soul, AGI killers, etc): Allows them to enter battle with better survivablilty.
Heroes with armor buffs: (Lich, Rooftrellen, Dazzle, etc.): Increases tanking capability and stun duration.

CAUTION!:

Heavy Nukers(Slayer, Lich, etc.) : Dangerous at early-mid game. Do not get killed.
Hp dependent damage(Enigma, Zeus, Necrolyte): Will eat through your hp,even with the heavy armor.
Critical attacks(Mortred, Yurnero, etc.): can possibly deal significant damage to whittle your Hp.
Hex (Guinsoo, rhasta, etc.): You lose resistance values while hexed.

Heart of Tarrasque: Boosts your survivability by increasing your Hp.
Battle Fury: Helps fix mana problems and armor collection.
Power Treads: Boosts movement and attack speeds
Assault Cuirass: Boosts armor and attack speed.

This build is aimed on survivability and some attack capability. As a tank, survival is key, but don't be afraid to get into the fray if your defenses are high, just don't rush in. Feel free to get items as you see fit for the hero.

oops. Wrong Icon for butterfly. Will fix that once the quake's effects wear off. Hope people read descriptions below and notice that that should be a butterfly.Don't want flames for having an alacrity in my suggested build.

@MK: I checked around on your notion, and looks like one of Thorn Lord's skills is very similar to Recycle. But in case you're concerned it's a copy, it isn't. Result of a brainstorm. If LD though wants some credit, he can pass by and tell me, and i'll say he called it first.

Too tanky for my liking... I think everything is perfect except for his ulti. I think you should bring down the cap from 40 armour down to at least 30... With his ulti at its max, an aegis in his inventory, drain barrier in use and his base armour Ikka has 60+ armour. How are you meant to beat that? Too tanky, but i like the idea!

@Sammeh: I already advised caution to dangerous heroes. Spellcastes can stop his farming early and midgame. Static field and reaper's scythe won't care about the armor bonuses. Criticals can deal significant damage, even with the armor.

very nice. a lot of ppl go for more damage or attack speed items. for this guy you go on armor. it's different which is good. -and for [protector], is the 50% damage taken according to your armor or the friendly unit's armor & does this also work if a [protected] unit is nuke (as in by a spell like [breath of fire] & what happens if the damage you take in from the[protected] unit can kill you too (as in you expected less damage, or decide to sacrafice your hero for theirs-i mean one can die from this ability (chance wise)

@Secres: Icons were customed in photoshop from art of Magic TCG. @donchovi: Damage to protected unit uses Ikka's resistance values(armor/magic reduction). Yes, you can die from this skill. The skill ends,of course, since you're not their to protect the unit. You probably aren't in range if you're dead, anyway.

Armor ? very original, love it, this should get more ppl to pay attention to armor items, just do the maths, and if u get satanic, Blade Mail, Aegis, Mekansm, BKB and at level 25 u should end up with 80 over armor, can anyone tell me how much damage reduction that will be ? Good job

Junk Launcher: Damn good nuke and an original stun effect.

Protector: Great ally helping skill, good way to save your buddies from enemy heroes with uber range or chasing skills. The sting will be quickly taken out of Zues' and Kardel's ults.

Recycle: Beautiful man. This is just plain perfect. with thi skill, it'll take ALOT to hurt you.

Because of the originality, I'm marking this as one of my favorite heroes.If icefrog doesn;t put Ikka in, I swear to god I'll find him and make him do it!

honestly, i never say this, but this is a pretty nice char. its different, not all dmg which everyone is mostly concerned with. Huge tanking capbilities, which might make it imbalanced in the end. I mean, yes with the ult you allow loss of bonus armor due to crits, but still, +40 armor max, which is hard to get but with drain barrier + normal stats your armor will be nuts. Add on with radiance and honestly, gg. but very very nice char; original and thought out. 9/10

what is his legacy? is it his mount?

nice background story

base stats and stat gains are good, base armor is kinda high imo, is 140 melee or ranged?

junk launcher is cool and balanced

protector is good too, I think it should be able to link more than 1 target, at least at the higher levels, how would it interact with one? and fatal bonds? decrease mana cost at lower lvls

dream barrier is good, mana cost needs

to be lowered since the only thing changing is the armor

recycle is good, why won't the armor carry over if you die? why a max armor? (to prevent junk launcher abuse?)
flesh heap helps more since more hp is always good but the extra armor doesn't do much for effective hp and is only really useful for the junk launching synergy
maybe add another effect (like additional ms since the legacy is large or something like that)
should increase the hero killing armor gain

skill synergy is nice

although with protector you will be taking dmg rather than taking none (but it's mainly for helping your ally)

extra armor from items won't do that much in terms of increasing effective hp since the % bonus decreases, so it will only make the stun longer, hp and evasion items are good

hero synergy you missed, heroes that give -armor (lanaya, sladar), will make the enemy take lots of extra dmg

caution magic nukes since armor won't do anything about that

ultimate tank build would be
BoT (your tank, so u don't need aspd)
Vanguard (helps survive early game)
Assault Cuirass (armor, support)
HoT (hp, hp regen)
HoT (hp, hp regen)
HoT (hp, hp regen)

will be able to tank just about everything and still be a threat, will be able to protect even the Clinkz who has 1000 hp (but 1000 dmg)

might be able to tank the fountain

nice flavor, cool effects, need some slight balancing, mtg art is awesome
9.5/10 (I round up)
