Ranged = Attack Modifier (Does not stack with frost arrows or poison attack), Melee = Orb Attack Modifier.

You cannot stack two attack mod's together. therefore SKADI and DESO wont stack, the usual combination would be helm of dominator along with Skadi. EOS, would be the deadlist item (to me at least) in the game. ; ) any hero can easily own with it. ; ) sexy item. Hit and run, and that dude can never catch up with you. =P

Skadi definitely does work on a ranged hero, because I was definitely owned by it a few times today.

My favorite item throughout the entire game. I just played 1 vs 3 and had Power Treads, Eye of Skadi, Aegis, Divine Rapier, and Battle Fury (using Terrorblade). Can't be outrunned with Skadi and Metamorphasis and basically immortal with Aegis and Sunder

its a frost attack if it could stack with rangers frost arrows guess what it would become... oh a frost attack duh so it would be exactly the same it's not 'like the game has different degrees of frost attacks so that with ice arrows and skadi u suddenly freeze your enemy for a few seconds like rylais ice move. Though that would be cool. It's like saying oh if i have two apples and ate them at the same time it would turn into a super mega apple adn would taste so good you would die from the addrenalin rush it's just stupid.

skadi and life steal is awsome for range heroes eg morph skadi and mom u can go godlike

MoM, Butterfly and EoS is a great combo for most rangers as it increases attack speed, slows and givin a chance to evade

most rangers benefit with this because ranged EoS is not orb effect, plus the slow will allow heroes to catch up easily

wat? orb effect for melee hero not orb effect for range hero. that is totally unfair. range can easily kill the enemy cause it not orb effect and u can buy sange and yasha or mask of madness with which it would be a ease to chase. example u r chasing shadow fiend and u r using death prophet who has run out of mana. shadow fiend has red life.lets say u hav the same run speed but u bought sny while shadow fiend didnt buy sny. even if u haven attack him to slow him down u can atleast catch up with him and sure kill. but if u r using axe who lets say some how has the same run speed if he buys eos he cant catch up with shadow fiend because sny does not stack.

it has been discussed that they dont stack, maim or frost attack only work. if they stacked, it would be 55% aspd lower and -65% ms lower. thats just too unfair

Being Dominating and Wicked Sick was like music to my ears, especially when it reached Godlike. It's super effective with ranged heroes who have Mjolnir....

Just a theory:This coupled with blade mail can be quite devatating to melee heroes. 20% damage counter +3 second minus chasing speed + thorn effect.

skadi doesnt stack with SnY or desolator. get for heroes that can travel a short distance in a really quick time (blink) then frost attack will take care of the rest.

depends really which slot u put EoS in... if first slot, u get Frost Attack, if other, u get Frostmourne. this also applies to other buffs/orb items. First slot always overrides other buffs/orb

linken's sphere + kelens dagger could be an alternative item build for EoS. u'll have ur stats from linkens and instead of slowin u could blink in front of your opponent. additional u'll have disentangle and an escape tool !!

SnY has a small chance to get maim, EoS gives u frost attack every attack u do.
Also, "linken's sphere + kelens dagger" combo is more of an escape plan, not killin, plus its also more expensive

even though its an orb on melee heros if you get this on melee heros ANY KIND OF MELEE ITS GG.on rage fit frost for 2 sec on melee its 3! Works on naix( poisen and isnt orb. They stack.) Mepoo 80%slow+ skadi = 90% slow(heros cant get any more than 90%. I think...) Think about it usually all melee heros have high atk or atk speed with skadi THEY CANT ESCAPE! (exception of blink or invisibility)

Oh i just found out that ursa isnt a range ANYMORE. They fixed that in the 6.44 patch. Sorry =X. It was fun when you could of use it on the older version...

It doesn't stack with stygian desolator because of the fact that each attack made can only and will only ever put ONE debuff on an enemy.

Stygian reduces armor by 6 for 5 seconds, skadi slows the enemy. Those are 2 debuffs, so you cannot apply both at the same time.

orb effects such as lifesteal, chain lightning, or mana burn do not leave a debuff, so they will stack with Skadi.

Venomancer's slow poison skill, Viper's slow poison, Drow's frost arrows, Silencer's glaives, Huskar's burning spear, and Visage's soul assumption all leave a debuff on the enemy on each attack, therefor skadi will not stack on each attack.

Some expceptions do occur, for instance when using bone clinkz, if you have skadi and deso and attack an enemy, they will get -6 armor when hit, but if you use searing arrows and attack the enemy (manual cast OR autocast) than you get the slow effect of skadi, not the -6 armor. Also note that no matter what you have if you attack while windwalked your first attack will not leave a debuff no matter what. For a hero like silencer though, no matter what you do, glaives overrides skadi, and deso overrides skadi when not using glaives.

Also note that skadi does not stack with stuns OR crits. If a MKB stun, natural stun, natural crit, buriza crit, or basher stun occurs on your attack they will not be slowed from skadi.

it's not an orb effect on ranged, so desolator and skadi stacks on ranged heroes, next, frost attack and stats help alot, especially on those without chasing or killing skills

USE EYE OF SKADI WITH MASK OF MADNESS OR SATANIC IF YOU PICK A RANGE HERO!THAT IS THE ONLY ADVANTAGE I SEE FOR THIS ITEM! In Dota, speed is the key. Skadi wont give you that because its too damn expensive!

^i dont think anyone has the tolerance to switch items slots between attacks.

that actually would be a good battle plan though, switchin items around. maybe u should ask Icefrog to create a hotkey to switch items with first slot.

Cos normally mjollnr won't activate, so only one actual orb effect in play...

Yes, with Mjollnir's partial probability, I've seen alternating shots, chain lightning then frost attack. Makes for total devastation, under the right circumstances.

hey can someone help me? i need to know if skadi stacks with s&y. i heard that if u stack skadi with s&y, the maim of s&y will be replaced with frost attack of skadi, but the speed of yasha is still present. is this true? and if so, is this a better to have s&y only as a build w/o the skadi?? thx to anyone who answers this question

i think u can shift when using deso and Eos if ur clinkz. use searing arrows=u'll get scady's frost at default u got stygian's corruption. correct if im wrong but i saw this on previous version.

It will stack with S & Y, if you are a ranged hero. If you're a melee type of hero, frost attack won't stack with S & Y since Skadi becomes an Orb Effect and Orb Effects don't stack with S & Y.

Can I ask LUPEMAN for his nice opinion on this. I am still a noob in DOTA. (1) I am wondering if SKADI can be used by LUNA? (2) Would frost attack activate? if so, would it also bounce so as to slow or frost other opponent heroes? (3) Would satanic and SKADI together be okay for LUNA?

luna with skadi and her bouncing attack will performs a bouncing attack with ice animation, however anyone who got hit by her attack would not be slowed, therefore, there's no need for luna to get skadi. also, a mirana with skadi and mjolnir is a total OWNAGE since she will attack with slowing effect of skadi and the mjolnir still have the chance to cast chain lightning. that's as far as i tried in 6.49b
skadi is the best item in dota, if you ask me.

Thanks wintermore! I really thought that since Luna is a ranged hero, SKADI is not orb effect on her and therefore, would activate the frost attack. But I am not sure if her first hit (with SKADI) will have frost attack. You are right about the ice animation on the bounced attack.
Many dota scholars here in our town said that Luna is the exception because of her glaives skill.

however i still don't understand why luna can do lifesteal with her bouncing attack but she can't do cold attack, or maiming [with S&Y], or corruption, etc.!?? it is pretty boring since everyone knows about the bouncing lifesteal, and use it frequently, so that everytime u play, there's 101% probability that u'll see this kind of luna [with satanic, b'fly, mkb, etc], and last time i use her with her convensional style [dagger & scepter] everyone thinks like i'm a weirdo.

however, kardel with skadi is also cool, but i often get guinsoo first, then skadi and butterfly, in case i played with that type of kardel [the int type]. skadi rocks!

i see sum of these questions of drow frost arrows and if they stack with skadi...look even if they did drows arrows are still good even if they dont stack...especially if u get guinsoo on her cuz u can just set the arrows on auto and shoot away without worrying about low/no mana lol...guinsoo is so messed up now its great lol...but skadi is essential with enchantress spam her spears and enchant them to slow and u are a pwnage machine

i'm pretty sure that clinks' searing arrows will override skadi, and you will not have the cold effect when you attack (that is, if ur on autocast).

it juz dun have orb effect when stack wif other orb item...when u equip YnS wif EoS...the YnS still will take effect...try it!!

Skadi doesn't stack with Desolator. Those items both place buffs, 1 attack = 1 buff, no more. So one of those items will be overridden.

One more thing concerning Luna, if you have EoS stacked with Satanic/MoM you won't get the frost attack. I havn't had time to test it myself but does this apply to all ranged heroes using that particular combo or only melees+Luna??

OOT: One thing bothering me is the animation thing. Why does it still bounce off as a frost attack (Luna with glaives) but as someone mentioned the real effect isn't applied? Bug FTW!
