I keep seeing people say that butterfly increases hp...?

This item is the best for Mortred i always buy two just in case after this you CAN"T TOUCH THIS CAN"T TOUCH THIS CAN"T TOUCH THIS

Why 2??? The Evasion doesn't stack...and for Agi/damage there are MUCH better items out there...

lol @ buy 2. this item is much needed for any agility hero. FOR ANY AGILITY HERO! such as mortred, rikimaru, juggernaut, nightstalker, etc...

Butterfly "increases" hp because the 25% evade is essentially a 25% hp bonus. Doesn't stop the nukes though...

Greedygood, it doesn't boost ur HP in anyway! 25% evasion isnt the same as 25% more life....a pudge with 3000 HP and this wouldnt suddenly mean that if he gets hit for 50 normally that if they miss 1/4 times so its 150 instead of 200...anyway i dont feel like doing aall the maths in my vacation but i think my point is made

Item stats not updated as of today.

Anyway, 25% evasion means almost 35% EHP. Now that it gives 30% evasion, that's now 50% EHP... I think.

Mortred is a best example of who it's NOT for. Evade does not stack, it takes the higher one.

So basically u'd be buying a 6000+ item just for the 60 damage and 60% attack speed....and as others mentioned there are better items for this price.

when you raise agility it raises the heros hp the evasion has nothing to do with it

lol the butterfly is pretty worth it coz the quarterstaff adds 10 damage and when u buy eaglehorn to convert it, it adds 30 damage! haha lol good for razor

NO...30 agility refers to your stats and +30% increased attack speed refers to the added aspd on top of your current aspd...

Viper is invincible with this. The best f*cking item.

Agility Stat
1. It adds damage for the AGI type heroes.
2. It increases speed
3. It adds defense not hp

Well acutally adrian, more defence means more EHP.
So although it doesn't add to your HP it gives you more HP against non-magic attacks.

strength heroes = usually hav lots of health and damage and with the increased attack speed, +30 damage and 30% evasion, it makes it harder for them to kill.

intel hero = 30% evasion is very good, the increased attack speed is very good as well and because most intel heroes hav low damage, +30 will balance out the playin game.

Don't forget that 30 agility gives about an extra 4.2 armor, which is pretty significant too.

As for how much of a boost to overall toughness the 30% Evasion gives, you simply apply this to get the % bonus:
100 / (100% - Evastion%)
= 100 / (100% - 30%)
= 100 / (70%)
= 100 / 0.7
= about 1.43, so a 43% toughness boost. Take the 4.2 armor into account too, and your hero is over twice as resilient to non-magical damage as it was without.

Obsidian Destroyer's special attack is an Orb effect, and so does not stack with the cold effect of Eye of Skadi. Still, which is better to get? Can't easily say, but I'd tend toward the butterfly. Bfly is cheaper, too (6350 vs 7675 for Skadi). Get both to be on the safe side rofl.

And yes, to put it to rest, +30 agility and +30% attack speed grant +60% attack speed.

always use this with viper.

the increase in price is worth it. 30% evasion is almost imba.

If you had 2 Bflys it would be...
+120 damage (30x2dmg + 30x2 agi)

+120% atk speed (30x2agi + 30%x2 atkspd)
+60 agility (30x2agi)

hmmmm. i love this item cuz if u put this on medusa, shes gonna be once tough cookie.her mana sheild, i believe, takes effect after evasion so i dont think her mana will take a hit if she evades. also,prolly the one of the best farming items by itself

Speed stacks. im pretty sure, "very fast" is as fast as it goes, but i never really pay attention to that detail

Lupeman- The fastest speed bonus is 300% atk speed increase. Very fast can be achieve with 1 hit per sec, so it's not that fast.

I'm not sure there IS a limit to attack speed, aside from possibly the animation being compressed time-wise. Ursa Warrior can get +400% speed repeatedly from Overpower, and I've played other games where heros attack visibly faster than he does...so it's not a game-engine limitation that limits the speed in DOTA, if indeed there is a limit.

When u get two Butterflies it does stack, but it gives u 51% evasion instead of 60
cuz 1 - (1-.30)x(1-.30)=1-.49=.51 aka 51%

For Mortred, it gives +60 dmg (+30 fr agi), +30% ASPD and 30% evasion. Mortred's own evasion doesn't stack with this item.

DON'T get this for Mortred, its to expencive, the evasion doesn't stack, so your gold is better spent elswhere (satanic/MKB/hyperstone even)

if u wanted an agility item for mortred and u already hav the eaglehorn, get a mjollnir. grants a defensive static buff (u get evasion from mortreds passive and if u do get hit, the thing that hits u gets zapped). plus its an agility item which is grant u additional damage. mortreds one of the few heroes i get mjollnir instead of stickn with maelstrom.

^if ur talkn about the miss chance, yea it will stack. thats why butterfly is great on both Troll Warlord, Tinker, Rikimaru and Broodmother, cos their skills cause enemies to miss any target and additional 30% more evasion on themselves.

then again, butterfly is invaluable for all heroes

2 is too much for mortred?!? well, i use 4 of them on Lancer, this is the best weapon you can buy for an AGI hero. 60 DMG, 60 Increased Attack speed, 4 armour.....it's great

this item is THE BEST FOR AGI HEROES. A MUST HAVE FOR ALL AGI HEROES AND MAYBE EVEN SOME STR.

yes evasion kinda stacks ok? each one has 30% chance to dodge. this means that it actually gives more chance because you have 2 activating at once, giving u in total 51% chance instead of 30. USE UR MATH. ALSO DOES THIS WITH ALL OTHER EVASION SKILLS LIKE SMOKE SCREEN, MORT'S EVASION, AND VOID BACKTRAK.

BTW: jjjjjjjj, gj, u figured it out before i posted.

umm.... evasion doesnt stack, its been discussed to death. u only get the one chance to evade the attack, no two chances to avoid attack.

i don't really think there is a limit in aspd. i used this with traxex with 3 hyperstones and 2 butterfly. it's very fast.

Very nice for troll warlord. His blind isn't a chance to dodge, its a chance for the target to miss. So the target has a less likely chance to hit ANYTHING and you have a less likely chance to be hit by ANYTHING.

Uhmm, what?? If you use lvl 4 Blind (Troll) on a hero he/she misses 42% of all the attacks he/she does, which means you and everybody else DODGE 42% of all incoming attacks from that particular hero. The evasion effect of the Butterfly works the same way but applies to all incoming attacks from ALL heroes and creeps.

Butterfly's evasion may not stack, but what other item gives riki +90 damage(back stab), +60% as, some armor and evasion for the first one.
