It's good for fast agility heroes, or for ones with critical stike.

VERY useful for agi heroes or when you don't want to spend thousands of gold on other lifesteal giving items. Also is an item required for Vladimir's Offering, which grants lifesteal NOT as an orb effect.

for any of the lifesteal items (vlads, satanic, mom) what kind of attacks lifesteal? only direct melee and ranged attacks?
I'm wondering whether something like Pudge's rot damage can lifesteal or not

You guys are really stupid to say this item is bad.... by itself, not good especially late game, but it is a prerequisite for mask of madness, satanic, and vlads, which are all really good items, and until you get those, having this in you inventory can be a big help, not so much for the boost in hero killing, but so that you can regen your HP by killing creeps instead of running back.
@AlaMaT) how this items works is whever you deal damage (from your normal attack) you gain 10% of the damage you dealt in life. Some sort of lifesteal item is a must have for most heroes imo, and this is needed for the other lifesteal items.

ive never seen someone just get items without upgrading them, cept for those unupgradable items.
all items arent very good until upgraded in a recipe shop.

does lifesteal work with range characters?

I think that they should change the visualisation/framework of the orb effect on ranged characters. that greenish white arc that is thrown at the enemy makes me hate buying lifesteal with ranged characters. looks like i'm weak.

vlads offering goes pretty well with balanar. this item by itself is pretty useless though.

its very useful for all heroes, instead of buying consumables to gain life..you gain life in every hit even if you're using hyperstone.

i always use this with powerthreads in the beginning of my game.
