Boots of Speed is a neccessary item for every hero in DotA.

Get this item first or prepare to get killed straight away, and be called nOOb by everyone playing.

i never buy boots first, i doubt that u will get first blood on lvl 1 through 6, unless u get ganked or r that nub.
then again, i hav gotten a double kill as Syllabear at lvl 5 against lvl 4 Skeleton king and Necrolyte.

i laugh at people that get this items first. they are usually first blood

if you want to live in early game then i suggest you buy this then upgrade into treads or BOT always buy this and a ring of regen in early game to stay out in the field for as long as possible

I agree with lupeman.
get the boots just on your first trip to the fountain. Without boots it is easier to block the first creep wave
