Kelens Dagger of Escape

A really good item for both sneak attacks and running away. It only costs 90 mana and has a small cooldown so it can be used over and over again. Also, really good on the sand king since you can epi and then blink and good on ursa to jump out and kill somone in 3 secs.

Great item for almost any hero, except for Pudge and Vengeful of course...
Other then that, this item makes sure that you can run from battle and run into battle, making sure that the surprise is on your side ; ) Great item! but have fun farmin for it, if it isnt an EM game.

wouldnt Mask of Madness be equally effective if not better? activate frenzy. of course with the 20%+ damage taken though, but still...

LupeMan, Well.. i dont exactly see the use of rhasta getting MOM or Maiden getting MOM. So Dagger would be a beta go. ; ) any LOW hp-ers wont risk a 20% more damage.

This item transports a hero from 200-1000 range in a BLINK of an eye! Never use this item on Pudge and Vengeful Spirit coz it will be a total waste of gold and time! Plus, it is not heavy on mana and the cooldown is quick! This item is good for Bradwarden, Sandking, Magnus, Sven, Alchemist, Spirit Breaker, Tiny and much more! TANK you!

great item... if you have this.. u will be the one to decide wether the battle starts or the battle ends...

It is really effective to use Dagger when u are playing earthshaker, u might say it it a must-have.
Blink to a giant wave of creeps (and maybe a hero!) and use ulti...
Mass gold from creeps + u might get a herokill, cos of all that bouncing energies=)

@Doomdesire, I like how you reiterate the fact not to use on Pudge or Vengeful, cause from the start they make it aware you CANNOT use it, Billboard Action.

However it would be nice to improve the cast of it, instead of point clicking it or using numberkeypad(I play with a laptop so thats useless to me) how about a dbl click to use Dagger? That would be more efficient to dbl click and dagger cast that way, let me know what you think??

Combine this with Radiance and Heart on Bradwarden=ownage... I tried it... Put a Buriza in, Blink in front of the enemy, stun and hit, and finish off with Skill 2...phew...it only takes 3-4 seconds to kill...

@ dtjy. they will probably detect the radiance before u hav a chance to blink them and they will be prepared for it.

a very good item. superior to lothars edge. allows you to setup your combo as well as provide you a great escape mechanism

this item is great w/ sven because you can cast godstrength be4 u come near to ur enemy den use dis to come near to ur enemy..because if ur enemy saw u cast godstrength they just run and come back when ur godstrenght timelimit is over

TINY!! if enemy tries to escape, blink in front of him, toss him in the direction of ur base and avalanche him + 1-2 hits= dead

i believe dagger is a must item for bradwarden with hyperstone/curias + satanic. Sneak attack first then stun, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop (5 chops within 2.75 sec ouch!!! plus satanic's lifesteal.. arrrgh!!).. trying to escape?? blink then chop then double edge (400 damage at level 4).. pew!!! that was easy pawn!! Bradwarden is my coolest hero. Nobody beats me on our cafe using brad with blink..

I know why icefrog didn't want dagger usable for vengeful and pudge. Coz on the dota map there are 2 craters where you can blink in.. hahaha!! you know what I'm thinking, right? For vengeful, blink into the hole and wait for passing hero then swap! haha!! whack him to death or just leave him there until he quits hahaha!! For pudge, blink into the hole and meathook passing hero. Rot and Dismember waaahhh!! will kill him surely hehe..

Also, buy it when you are using vengeful and pudge.

there are still heroes that can get them into the pit, like tinys toss ability or priestess leap + vengeful spirit swap.

many people dont realize why pudge and vengeful cant use kelens cause their damn stupids! if vengeful has a dagger al she does is teleport on a spot where no one can move then swap enemies in there and they already game over (except for those blink and borrow strike)while pudge has one he teleports in one of those places too then meat hook some one there and there is no ESCAPE! damn stupid people who dont get it!

with pudge it would be ridiculously imba, though how i wish, how i wish. The combo would go:
Snag a hero with dismember+rot (same time) then chase with rot, then hook, then if they manage to outrun you, blink ahead. Its unallowed becasue pudge alreayd gets 80% of its kills by chasing, this would just make it sooo much easier.

same with vengeful. Her tactics are all about letting the other hero run away until she cant hit them anymore then she swaps and repeats, with a stun. This would give her 2 massive teleport/blink techniques.

I understand why they wont let pudge or vengeful use it (they blink to a spot on the map i.e. a plateau that you cant walk off of) and they hook/swap an opponent into it.... effectively fukcing the opponent over, but why is this not true for rajin thunderkeg?? he can lightning grapple an opponent to a fucked up spot then blink out.

and -unstuck takes time..... a lot of time...so you dont do it when you get ganked just to not die

in a 5v5 its a waste of 2k unless you are french and like to run all the time! doesnt even give any stats and if your a smart player you should know when to run and not rely on an item that take all your gold

the thing ice frog doesnt realise that u can still get ppl stuck on certain places.. hapnd 2 me once lol.. this noob clan had priestress and venge... priestress leaped somewher near the top lane by the river.. then venge swapped with her.. and i was spirit breaker thank god!so i was walking innocently by the river and venge swapped with me.. at 1st i couldnt stop laughing coz its sucha pointless trick since venge was up there for 5mins w8ing for some1 2 come! so i just used my ult on a creep which my ally used them 2 chase him! lol but i was stuck up there a good 5mins as well.. i was lvl 12 and became the lowst lvl on map :( lol i pretty much got punkd on dota!!
but im gonna try that next time

hahaha guees why vengful spirtit or pudge cant use the blink dagger? cause vengeful will blink into a hole or between da trees or sumthin (PLACE WHERE U CANT GET OUT) and then another member of the team comes wondering by and nether swap and their out of the game forever unless they got blink...pudge can blink in wait for blink to cooldown. meat hook someone in and blink out...lol thats a fast way to get rid of players.

this item is really cool.

it should be noted that this item was made for escaping. kelens dagger of ESACAPE! lol. anyway late game each death you are losing lots of gold. so lets say you wanted to start farming a reaver or relic mid game but you die 2-3 times now your relic or reaver is 1k more. you could have gotten blink early and saved your life those times.

but also dont forget that blink is rape when tryign to kill an escaping hero and it literally is rape. you just get up in there instantly when they are on their way out and bam.

so many times there is so much wasted effor jsut for the enemy to get away or even you chase hi and end up dieing. well if you didnt have to run so far cause you blinked maybe he would have died instead of gettign away and also before his teammates arrived. also if you want to be risky chase and fail then you are dead but thankfully you have your blink to save teh day when an ordinary juke wont be enough. (slows and stuns and stuff)

if u use this for pudge then the enemies would be stuck. If use for venge same thing happen

yeah really freaks my ememies when im using sandking cast Epicenter+blink to the enemy.. and use manta Style.. yeah A huge Epicenter will Bang you Screen... and one free Borrow strike...and ohh also use Shivas Guard.. with sandking its easy to get rich...

I'd say it's useful for only slow moving heroes like tiny etc. It's pretty expensive for nothing more than a blink...

It's a good item for every hero except pudge and vengeful of course even for those with blinks already it's also good. Two blinks owns. It's a double advancement in offensive (by not waiting for 5 or 6 seconds anymore), double back for defensive (same) or think of it that one is for offensive with 5 seconds cooldown and one is for defensive purposes when enemy reinforcements arrive.

It's Kelens dagger of ESCAPE! yet..icefrog changed it so that if you've been hit in the past 3 seconds...you cannot blink.

now it can only be used to initiate combat...unless your pugna...and can caste cripple on yourself...which i don't think you can...

this item is not useful anymore. it has a nots so high mana cost and also not so high cooldown. and i dont know why pudge and vengeful cant use this item. do they dont have the right to escape and live?and also, this item is quite expensive. they should put some attribute in this item.

The reason Pudge and vengeful can't use it...is cause pudge has Hook. He could tp to a location where no one can get to...and hook someone into there. =/

or.

Vengeful could do the same...with swap...and then someone is stuck there all game... or until he finds a way down...then vengeful could just rinse and repeat the same strategy.

glitch in this item. i was centuar and had 2 vanguards and a blink dagger, farming on the sentinel side and two people found me and started attackn me. the creeps and him were attackn me and i still was allowed to blink away. no 3 second cooldown

What was wrong with dagger to begin with? If it was realy that big of a problem then just up the cooldown... Plus, it was a skill based item. Playars had to decide did they want to use it in offence and hopefully get a kill, or save it for defence. They cant use it both times in a realistic battle situation with a 45 second cooldown. IT IS A BLINK DAGGER LET IT BLINK. It was not overpowered at all, and now all the skill// fun is taken out of it.

For me I use dagger of escape in case of emergency, LOL!...I love to use dagger of escape in Str heroes like slardar!...blink then stun then -armor then pawn!...LOL!...It can be a good offense also for low HP heroes!...It you can't beat them, escape then!...LOL!

if you have low hp and wants to escape from a hero with a radiance...it's not possible now because every second, you are dmg y 35 so it wont work...

I think that the 3 seconds is too large of time. They should make it 1.5 second just to give it a slight interrupt but still be able to escape. Then it would be a little more useful and worth buying.

What was so imba about this item that demanded change in the first place... I mean before frog ruined it, you could only use it for offence or defence in a realistic situation. With the change now its limited to pure offence, and all the fun//skill is taken out. If it realy was imba before, JUST UP THE COOLDOWN NOT COME UP WITH A DUMBSHIT SCEME TO RUIN IT.
