uhh, i think youre gonan need some hyperse for your bear and maybe a cuople of bashers on him. on syllarbear itself, IMO lothars is a must cuz late game many heroes will try to gank you, and i like skadi on syllabear. bear with hyeprs and bashers, entangle and bash while you in the back slow them down; kill for sure.

This is a good guide. Not so sure about getting True Form late though, since you can easily tank a bit with it. And I just have to ask, if the Spirit Bear dies, what happens to the items with it?

nice guild.. can i ask what will happen if i will put mealstorm in bear?? with its fast attack speed can that bear automatic cast chain lightning??? will that help druid farming?

I have a similar build and I agree with using True Form last just like Bryant Pham said you would have to equip your bear with non orb effect items because the entangle is an orb effect. Aside from Treant, I think that this hero is one of the most expensive heroes to build because you practically have two heroes. Before I get a S&Y I try to give my bear Boots of Speed first then I get S&Y because it is really your bear with entangle that ensures that you get a hero kill and your bear can chase the hero whereever he goes. I would get Lohar's, S&Y, and HoT for Sylla and power threads, Hyperstone, bashers for the bear. You will start seeing the difference once your bear gets power threads, has rabid and you have S&Y

i agree the true form at late game but about lvl 23 might be too late!! be4 u could get to lvl 23 u might finish the game(whether win or lose). i think it should be a bit earlier

Just a suggestion: Max out synergy while you can. Increases rabid's duration so you and your bear can have rabid at the same time.

Nice build... But when I play bear I always buy some bracers for myself and farm for aegis rapier for myselffor late game.. That way the bear can tank the enemy, and u can really hurt the enemy from behind.. I use true form when im running.. A little correction, true form adds 1000 hp with synergy level 4..

why dont you eventually work that ring of health into a perseverence, or even a linkesn late game? it would help immensely with your tanking skills

Nice build dude! A two thumbs up for this build! I am usually a strategy critic in dotastrategy.com, but this build has no errors as of my knowledge of playing syllabear. This is the exact items i use for the bear master, i usually add vanguard though. I give this a 10.

I usually tries to get threads for me and my bear as soon as possible. After that I buy a couple of bracers and a hyperstone for my bear.
Now im ready for herokilling. Using rapid on my bear will give him extreme attackspeed, and a great chance to entangle your enemy. If it's an agi or int hero, I will most likely get a kill.

At this stage I'm aming for at least one basher for the bear, and heart for myself. Usually I buy two bashers for my bear. At this time the game should be over, or at least close to be.

BTW Heart will only give your bear an additional 300hitpoints (Compared with 965 for yourself). The extra 35 strengt doesent do a shit. Thus you should get vangurd(s) for your bear, and NOT heart!

Man why not going for monkey or Critical?Also you can go for 2 Bashers and own with youe ulti.(Cause +10% chanse to bash on melee).Combined with the roots you can disable everyone.

nice build but i play syllabear differently though. i max out rabid and synergy from lvl 1-8 then stats. build the basics like power treads and s&y then try to build skadi and OMG!
but if you're planning on using spirit bear, might as well go for basic for bear like power treads 1st, then radiance, divine rapier, hyperstone. although true power is w/o bear

synergy at lvl 21/23? u should be bear,sy max at lvl 8, go 4 in rabid, stats then ulti. However, u might want ulti 14,15,16 because its better right before a team fight to go in and take 1.5 seconds of damage.

Hey, yeah ive been playing sylla bear for awhile now and i plan on writing a guide. For the time being i figure i may as well do a sort of "myth-buster" comment. The build above is deffinatly effective EXCEPT
PLEASE NOTE**** the spirit bear has no stats, so other than a slight health bonus and regen bonus, the bear gets no benefit from carrying a heart. If you have any questions about sylla bear please ask me i have tested every possible item build with him.

hey, is that a heart of tarrasque in your spirit bear?? that would be foolish, coz sylla's spirit bear gains no stats, meaning it will only gain 300 hp, and 11 hp/sec, hey thats not enough for a 5000+ item, just buying vitality booster is just as effective for your bear, and that sange and yasha?? whats that for?? for the hp?, well you have true form, for the movespeed?? the heck you can cast rabid on your bear and you any time it cools down, if your synergy is leveld, and that orb effect is just an overkill. what a guide

when sylla is in true form it adds hp
so why not build aegis instead of HoT to sylla...
and i prefer atk speed on bear instead of HoT on bear

If this works for you man, so be it. I play an atypical sylla in that I don't get the bear until late game unless an enemy hero is a perma basher. I would suggest replacing the HoT on your bear wtih something like a vlad. You would still have health regen and it's a helluva lot cheaper than your HoT.

I noticed you said about the Heart of Tarrasque that after you get one give one to ur spirit bear too, one thing people don't get is you're bear isn't a hero meaning he dosent have strength also meaning it will only give him 300 hp nothing else.

actually syllabear is my favorite heroes and ive already maximized all his skills to the hilt! yeah i hve to agree sylla's main strength is his bear!!!

esp if bear is lvl4 with inventory capacity... he's got so many use...

not only is the bear good for farming, entagling heroes, even addtl damage to heroes when attacking... it also serves as a decoy for syllabear. in the event that sylla is bleeding red; you can use bear to block off the chasing hero's path.

ive done that too many times successfully pissing opps off!

but why keep headress till the late game???

u can get battlefury instead for hp and mana regen plus splash damage...

re the rabid skill-- this is how i use it...

first i put it on sylla then on bear - why?

the lasting effect of the rabid skill on sylla is longer and while you're waiting for the skill to cooldown ud notice u still got rabid on sylla and when u put rabid on bear- u got TWO 2 rabid affected heroes!!! that's alot of speed and ravaging!!!

just make sure though to do this like before you attack any hero as it gives you time for the skill to cooldown after putting it first on syllabear then on to bear.

try it... you'll enjoy it..

for craniums - that's a plus if you can farm it early atleast 1 but if you can, go for two put it not on the bear (since this has entangle/overgrowth), put it on sylla as it adds more stunning bashing effects on the hero foe, for longer stopping power.

imagine rabid-rabid-bash-entangle-bash-bash effect...

my items for sylla:

1. BoT
2. Buriza
3. MKB
5. cranium
if still possible
6. butterfly
on syllabear

1. battlefury and/or
2. radiance

sometimes i put two blademails on bear since he's in the forefront of my attack everytime he absorbs most of the damage - therefore if you this - you can return the damage - and ofcourse this item build is cheap.

NOTE: (BEAR does not necessarily need addtl attack speed, you have rabid remember?)
but of course that's a welcome addition.

and if ur good in farming u can still go for assault cultrass on sylla.

btw this items build varies depending on the list of opps u got and the skills they use against you.

the bear cant get hp from str so a heart is pointless on it....

my item build would be:
sylla
1) treads
2) 2x str bracers
3) eos
4) lothars

spiritbear
1) treads
2) 2xbashers (stun is not an orb effect)
3) battle fury

if you get this the game would have gone on for a long time so what you i would do from here is to add more dmg on my bear and maybe a hyperstone, sylla i would leave alone

well u could use a valmirs for lifesteal wit ur bear and urself when u ulti. Also i recommend in beginning game to get headress of rejuvination. And also to get a basher on ur self and ur bear. only one for each! other wise i think this is an excellent guide i give it 8/10. Oh yah and bear shouldnt get heart because the strength atributes are useless so u should get like soul booster if u want life for it and u should change the ring of health into battlefurry latter on for late game farming.

nice guide but i think soul booster would better better to replce the heart for the bear as heart adds strength which is useless for the bear anyway

what the! putting HoT on the bear is purely stupid since the bear has no stats and has no main attribute, HoT only increases the bears life a little bcoz of the vitality booster...
