yeah try manta style.. it works really great on nessaj, its feedback may get many heroes crazy.. butterfly hot and manta are the items i get with nessaj.. should try it

No one made a set rule that manta style should go for every illusion hero. Think of it this way, The enemy would be dead before his mana runs out! :) Manta style on heroes like Phantom lancer is awesome(slithice is good but also not that good for her), but Nessaj's illusions deal full damage, and there are only a few enemies that can survive their onslaught. besides, manta style does not add to the overall damage, so i prefer getting other items that will help me more on the long run. Nessaj doesn't need the extra illusions too.. IF i want to add to his items, i'll be adding another heart or sthg that increases my resilence such as linken sphere or aegis of the immortal. sometimes i add another hyperstone.

I tend to have trouble with ck's mana pool...i think battlefury would be better than a hyperstone solely for the mana regen but im not sure if images cleave. Great strat though!!

If you have read my strategy well you would have seen that i have written in large caps that in 3.38 you should get arcane ring... Which will solve all your problem.

But I do find that a lot of heroes will run. I go with Arcane, Treads, Radiance, MOM, Hyper, and a Satanic. Then sell the arcane late game for a Heart or more damage. Radiance is a must for this guy.

Illusions do not get increased attack speed from items like Hyperstone and Sange and Yasha, nor do they get Maim. The only way to increase the attack speed of your illusions is via agility, and the only orb that works on illusions is Feedback. So, your build might work great for you but I think it sucks for your illusions.

By level 16 you could have two Bracers, Vladmir's Offering, Diffusal Blade, and Boots of Speed/Travel. Yes, you and your illusions can burn mana and steal life at the same time. Then finish Manta Style and Heart of Tarrasque. If the game is not over yet, replace the Bracers with Butterfly/Radiance.

Seriously, don't rely too much on Phantasm for killing. It's main thing is to push, and confuse enemies. Kill w/your own. Get SnY, Manta, Heart, Battle Fury, Travel, and Butterfly. For starters, heheh.

I would like to add the following for CK fans to try. It is an early game strat if the opposing team has either tiny or bloodseeker. I find these heros really weak early game (especially tiny because of low armor). I purchase as many gauntlets as i can afford, switch to their lanes right away (coordinate with team) and then pick blink strike and stun as my 1st skills followed by 2 stat boosters to level 4. With this i focus only on the heros, being careful to avoid creeps. I find that I can usually kill tiny once or twice by level 5 or 6. Most times they leave game after that. Bloodseeker is a little harder but the early kills are still possible on him. After that I build to whatever I feel like. Sometimes life steal and Battle fury, sometimes bashers and hearts (phantasms bash). My main goal with CK is to get my damage up. I also like BF and stygian combo.

I may be wrong about phantasms bashing in my previous post. If you know this is true, please tell me where you found the information.

Hyperstone??? WTF are you thinkin' man? Get another dmg item instead for the critical strike to have more dmg. You have a stun that can last four a maximum of 5 seconds, how the f*** can an enemy escape with that? Wtf do you need the hyperstone for? Sorry man but this build is just too noob especially getting euls? You need dmg bcoz of the criticals man not mana. A very noob guide.

Correction shadowmastermk47 S&Y and manta are both orb effect items. Just to refresh your mind.

mmm very fun hero, once it was late game after i got heart i killed 3 ppl at once without help and that was before hyper all in all a very fun hero, and no one beats him with image crits

Basher?

you need to provide a more in-depth guide on making use of the ulti. Point being, your illusions last pretty long, 20secs, but your stuns plus cd don't. So a tip for beginners is to ulti first and rush your enemies with images followed by a stun. You should always focus on jus 1 enemy each time to ensure a kill. If you are gettin diffusal early, you will have the extra disable of purge, which greatly aids your kills. Not to mention the extra agi and mana pool from the item.

does buriza's 2.2xcritical stacks with this guy's crit? so why not use this as an additional?

can i equip him with EoS? to increase the attack speed of my illusions and mine, as well?

hey thx for the strat! i also think chaos is powerful, and would like to add on an item to your list.
I recomand Manta Style. Int/Agi item with active illusions. this REALLY confuses your enemies to which they should hit! and they makes SnY much more effective due to the extreme increase in attack speed!!! use manta first then ulti. works well with naga and phantom lancer too.

nice item for chaos knight i also used that in 5vs5 game... chaos knight is a hero killer... you can own a game w/o mkb sny and hot will do.. 1 or 2 crit hits w/ each image will kill a hero in 2-3 secs...

make a refresher orb and manta style with is guy too

i tried out this build and went 8-3 in an AR match with my first time with nessaj. NICE!

My build for Nessaj is Radiance, BoT, Assault Cuirass. Only need 3, add HoT if the game takes any longer.
He's really great in chasing heroes. I really love him, he's an almost perfect Hero. You have Blink, Stun, Crit and Illusions which makes 4X the trouble.

This strategy helped me big time I was just about to give up on playing Nessaj but I saw it and used it to the point where I went 17-2 before I got my HoT haha (at the end I was about 25-5 but that was because I wasn't even using skills to kill other heroes lol!) I was just about to give up on DoTA as a whole but this got me back into it! thx a lot -Sllp- Go level noobs!!!

dude u shouldnt get phantsm at lvl 6.. CK doesnt have enough mana or int to do both ulti and stun.. his int growth is pathetic and at lvl6 u only get one image... now how would tat help??
if u do get ulti at lvl6 and u use it, u almost have no mana.. probably not enough for chaos bolt...

Take out Threads Hyperstone and Sange and Yasha and put Manta and boots of Travel instead. Images don't benefit from attack speed items. Oh and I suggest 2 bracers over 1 bracer + Null early game is more on survivability so Bracers are more important than nulls.

i repick him, he is so fucking imba.. i play him with a mask of death before getting a hot. trust me, you're unbeatable.

The only thing i disagree is the null talismans. My opinion is to go for Ring of Regeneration, Bracer, Power Treads and Sange & Yasha! Heart will finally come to you very easy! I give you five mate!

I've seen ppl play with nessaj with a cranium basher and they just OWND. He alone killed razor and n'aix without using his ultimate

I prefer goin for battle fury instead of sange and yasha.. the cleave with the change to do 3 times damage is great + the mana and hp regen not to mention the damage

start off with bracers vladimir and a diffusal then manta and battle fury (work for a heart or radiance) boots.. dunno travel and treads both good

i really dont think you need 2 nulls but other than that i think it is a good build....maybe instead of hyper you should get vanguard so you can own...you imght say that the heart will help with that but vanguard would be for if you are slow at getting the heart...

I disagree with the fact that you choose to pick critical strike after Blinkstrike.What can I say… this skill owns! 3x Critical Strike is a huge friggin’ amount of damage. If you get a decent damage boosting item you can actually take out low Hp heroes in a few blows.
I also disagree with your Hyperstone choice.The Hyperstone is a great item, but it's very expensive and only gives you one buff - enhanced attack speed.Get this item only to convert it into an Attack Cuirass to boost your team's overall damage output.

As far as my sixth item is concerned I still haven't decided which is best... I'm between
6.1 Divine Rapier(Images do full damage and imagine the face of the enemy when he sees what you are holding, plus think of the critical strike dmg!!!!!!)
6.2 Radiance(Again due to the fact that images hold it too and Nessaj cacn blinkstrike in the center of the enemy crowd to damage many enemies at the same time)
6.3 MKB (Each image plus you will have a 30% chance to deal 100 bonus dmg on every attack stopping channeling spells
6.4 MantaStyle (More images plus feedback for every image)
6.5 CraniumBasher (Each image plus you will have a 15% chance to bash)

Try Diffusal Blade for Nessaj(later Manta style) and Battlefury + Radiance. These are great herokilling and farming items. Purge is completely sick with Nessaj and this guide is good but i think items(S&Y, HoT, Hyperstone) would be better for some other hero like Spiritbreaker.

i want my own strategy specialy to rastha, i will use phantasm then chaos bolt then kill. if it escapes, i will not let it go nyahaha bec of blink then phantasm[ sort of ] then thats my srategy killing it nyahahaha

S&Y is useless on Chaos man. He can blink strike as well as stun. No problems in chasing enemy. Get radiance plus other damage items. Finally, get Satanic. You will own....

I usually get cuirass, vlad, eul, and heart. Cyclone, cast your illusins, stun, attack. If he flees, blink, then stun again. He should be dead by now

Mask of Madness is better than sange yasha. We'll, for me that is. Ever consider batttle fury? It fits him perfectly.It's a good strat though!

dude... manta is a great item for CK... i have seen take him out a Skeleton King... the best part was that the SK couldnt reincarnate cuz all his mana was burnt off... i feel manta is too important to let go for CK...

nessaj needs items that are use for longer life.. at mid game.. i recommend 2 reaver.. so his phantasm can fight loner in battle.. swear.. its effective..

I get treads Manta a Heart and battle fury. I just played a game with that build and i got two triple kills. My score was 17-2 :P manta with his ult rules theres so much power in that

im a noob at dota and i got this guy in AR. first time with him and i got so little gold in the game because of harass and 2-4 allies on the lane and i still OWNED

I like playing with CK. But Id rather level up his ulti at level 10 and 11. That's too much mana cost early and will only last 20 seconds. The real pain starts when there are three of you. Manta is good late game but I wont prioritize getting it. BoT and HoT make you durable.

Worst enemy-Harbringer. You wont stand a chance but that is why you have teammates.

This is one way to do it but personally it's not my style, using my own method which i put in a strat thats is currently being varified i managed to take out a spirit walker with 2 devine rapiers and a hyper when all i had was a black king bar and a reaver, not only that but i didn't take any damage... however i did loose the game because that guy found an illusion rune and used it to distract me so i wasted my mana :@

Manta is very situational for this guy and way too often used. CK is a Strength Hero, thus he hardly profits from the agility gain. he gets 18% attack speed and like 2.6 Armor, two images that deal 40% dmg only and the 38 feedback for freaking 5500!!! I might take it vs Leo or if im facing many Heros with Mana dependant escape skills (WW), but to be honest i would stick to the diffusal blade probably which is 2.5k less. Too many people dont use the 10 purge charges which is probably the best about diffu blade.
CK is a damage dealer. If you spend those 5.5k in damage and HP like HoT or Radiance hardly any int/agi hero will even survive a 3 sec stun.
Manta is made for phantom lancer and maybe usefull for naga although i would stop at the diffu and maybe upgrade later after some damage items. Manta for CK is a no unless in some rare situations.

3.sange n yasha isnt cheap for a 5v5 game-try items that give lifesteal if u r facing a melee opponent(OG COURSE ITS RECCOMENDED VLADIMIRS COMBINED WITH SANGE YASHA)
4.maim doesnt work with ur illusion-(only feedback can).Combining manta n' vlads is just SUPERB as your illusions have mana burn n lifesteal n increased attack spped n armor!!!!

nice strat - for illusions, really only use them against towers or when it is a multi-hero melee - and it doesnt matter too much about vlads/aspd since they deal full dmg and theres 4 of them! manta is not needed, spend the money on a mkb to up the crit dmg.

Hyperstone doesn't increase image attack speed. Don't get it. SnY gives you enough of a bonus.
Arcane ring?? Unnecessary. Too expensive for what it gives, considering you don't use spells to clear creeps. Bottle is much better, since it heals health too.
You really don't need the nulls. Bracers are better. I'm not sure why you think you need the extra intelligence. He's not a spell spammer.

I build my CK like a ganker: bottle, boots--> treads (the new ones rape), SnY (MS= 446 I think?), then heart. Satanic is a possibility since the lifesteal will override the SnY maim.
I finish off my blink and CB first, then get Phantasm at levels 10 and 11. There's no reason to get it at level 6 since an extra Nessaj isn't enough to do much of everything. I use it to push, not gank. The cooldown is ridiculous and the mana cost obscence, so save it for big battles and gank with super high ms and stuns.

Remember, Chaos Knight is basically PA with high strength. Not Siren.

Why not get hyperstone =.= late game it'll find its way into assault cuirass anyways..since Nessaj is a str hero, he needs the att speed. His crit is 11% not 15 or 20 like motred and buriza..so AS is vital to get gay DPS. SnY and satanic stacks...the maim will just kick in for that paticular attack while for that attack the lifesteal doesn't. Battle fury would be nice..since his critical + splash = $$... Don't call me crazy, but 2 battle fury's is a CAN.. not insanity...70% splash 8 HP regen and the added Mana Regen should be enough. Mom in early-mid game would be nice I don't disagree on anything....but manta on this guy is just ridiculous. ==

With the skill build i recomend boost stun + blinkstrike if you have 1 or 2 ranged opponents at startgame. Boost stun + critical if you have 1 or 2 melee opponents. boost stun + stats if you 1 range + 1 melee opponent. i always choose skills depending on what i have against me at startgame.

a VERY bold statement indeed. I know an amazing nessaj but I won't call him the best, not even arguably.

i thnk,, 2 bashers, a buriza, a pow treads, SnY, and HoT, will best work for him like,, once, ive played him on a wtf mode and used this build and whenever an opposing hero comes,, he gets killed in an instant,, especially with my imaes like i eat them in a second,,, yah,, i know,, 2 bashers are quite noob coz its like i dont get 30% chance of bashing but a decreased value lower than 30% but still higher than 15 is great,, and a buriza even hes a crit hero is quite noob also but it adds the power,, coz you cant expect his natural crit to always work coz its only a mere 11%,, hihihi,, i thnk my build is better,, and its quite cheap too,,

I dun believe u killed that fully equipped skeleton king. It's totally impossible unless that guy give you chance! He got HEARTS dude! And unless he's low on mana, u are supposed to kill him twice. Another possibility is that u ks, n tats nothing to brag about. Lol. And I tink it's a must for chaos knight to hav manta style. it makes two more images for criticals! ownage!

My skill build is first the critical next the blink strike both are them are lvl 1 only then chaos bolt must be mastered the phantasm the chaos bolt if the chaos bolt is mastered go for the critical then the b strike then the bonus

This hero is good... but hard to use. Might as well ulti first, and then backstab him from the back. When u get near him, stun him, and whacked him. He should be maimed, if hes maimed hes dead and chase him . If hes a ww hero, too bad.

Satanic on CK just makes him imba...I took down a fully equipped gondar and drow late game, especially with crits around 900 dmg.

why must blink strike be the second skill it should be critical strike so you can out match a fair fight with an enemy

to clarify some stuff, you don't get the critical strike early because you don;t have that much damage

you don't need battlefury for the mana regen because it should only take you 190, maybe 240 mana to kill a hero (blink, bolt, hit and maybe blink to kill) if you are having mana problems it is because you don't know how to use the skills properly. also you have null talismans to help out with the problem

@ battlefury will not give your illusions damage, read the abilites

blink is pretty important early game for the easy surprise kills

and do not post ridiculous item builds that would cost 15k+ because that is not reasonable amount of gold to get

you don't need manta style to rape because you already have an illusion ability to do that and the stats do not give you any damage (str hero duh)

people, actually read the strat before making stupid comments

im so sorry to disagree ... but to b honest...my CK pawns so much harder!!! S%Y is great and all but eye of skad is so much better solves the mana prob.. gives dmg, atk speed,hp and EYE AND vlads=gg... ur ulti creats imortalityjust focu fire a hero and it will die.. my items r boots,4 bracers, vlads, sell bracer then get imba item... eye, curras, vlads, BoT,heart, battlefurry... just jungle and the gold will rollin... its crazy!!! trust me plz im asian!!!try it... ull farm in fast so relax!

For disabilers you have to add the Witch Doctor to the list. His Paralyzing Cask can really hurt both u and all ur copies

An Additional for me about nessaj. He is a low profile hero.

nyah u always want a manta style on nessaj cause his damage buffs are out of the roof and crit covers up for missing damage i go for 2 barcers power treads manta hot and satanic if im taking boots of travel and not power treads

why no skadi? skadi is so much better then s&y, for mana probs and dmg for your illusions
i do skadi first, then assault, then vlads (RoB instead of nulls early)

You guys do realize that this was created over a year and a half ago, correct? Some of the items that are in DotA currently might have not been created yet in the older version. For example, I remember DotA "Darkness Falls" version, that one didn't have Manta Style.

All Guides should be updated and edited accordingly to the most recent version of DotA.

lawl i usually try get bashers for this hero for permastun(u blink in stun and if they manage to get away from stun use your skill stun hehe :) gem true sight helps a bit or even lothars edge to sneak in)your illusions for this character=pro they can take hits and deal massive damage oh yeh !!

i think u must get buriza asap coz his critical strike is his only advantage in fighting.. and i think its better to get (treads, S&Y, and den butterfly) - for attack speed and if possible get assault too.. damn good attack speed.. more chances of criticals... bwahahaha!!

one of the underused heroes in dota but when this knight gets fat in lategame nobody can escape him you could try burize also adds on the critical very ouch!!

i usually get battle fury and vladmir's before going for the heart....
