As you may have heard before, this is my first strategy on I have been playing dota for a while now, and if my ideas, strats, item build could help anyone out there, it would all be worth it. Hope you'll enjoy it, and maybe learn something!

Rhasta - Shadow Shaman

Range: | Move Speed: 285
Primary: INT
Str: 19 + 1.6 | Agi: 16 + 1.6 | Int: 21 + 3
Damage: 47 54 | HP: 511 | Mana: 273
HP Regen: 0.82 | Mana Regen: 0.85
Attack Speed: 0.68 | Armor: 1
Ether Shock
Ether Shock (R)
Calls forth a cone of lightning, hitting multiple enemy units for damage.
Level 1 - 140 damage to 1 targets.
Level 2 - 200 damage to 3 targets.
Level 3 - 260 damage to 5 targets.
Level 4 - 320 damage to 7 targets.
Damage type: magical
Casting range: 600
Area of Effect: 200
Mana Cost: 95/105/135/160
Cooldown: 8 Seconds
Comment: Great at getting last hit. Wether its creeps or heros! Try to multiply when casting, so youll get 3-4 creeps, instead of 1.

Voodoo (D)
Transforms an enemy unit into a random critter, disabling special abilities.
Level 1 - Lasts 1.25 seconds.
Level 2 - Lasts 2 seconds.
Level 3 - Lasts 2.75 seconds.
Level 4 - Lasts 3.5 seconds.
If the target is an illusion, it will be instantly destroyed.
The hexed target will have a base movespeed of 100.
Hex disables damage block and evasion.
Casting range: 500
Mana Cost: 110/140/170/200
Cooldown: 13
Comment: Voodoo. wont help you much in the beginning, but lategame, it can save your ass (or your teammate), and it can easely cause an enemy hero to die, giving you or a mate a free kill!
Shackles (E)
Magically binds a target enemy, so that it cannot move or attack and deals 40 damage per second.
Level 1 - Lasts 2.5 seconds.
Level 2 - Lasts 3.25 seconds.
Level 3 - Lasts 4 seconds.
Level 4 - Lasts 4.75 seconds.
Damage type: magical
Shackles is a channeling spell.
Casting range: 400
Mana Cost: 110/130/155/185
Cooldown: 16
Comment: Hero Shackles. I really love this skill. The damage it self, is very low, but still a mortal spell. *try to catch an enemy hero, while your own creeps is slaughtering him, or while ganging him. He cant escape while shackled. Your hp is low, try not to use shackles when enemy creeps is hitting you.
Mass Serpent Ward
Mass Serpent Ward (W)
Summons 8 immobile serpentine wards to attack enemies. The wards last 45 seconds and are immune to magic.
Level 1 - Summons 8 Serpent Wards, which have 39 - 43 (53-59 *) damage.
Level 2 - Summons 8 Serpent Wards, which have 54 - 58 (74-79 *) damage.
Level 3 - Summons 8 Serpent Wards, which have 69 - 73 (94-100 *) damage.
Serpent Wards deal piercing damage.
Serpent Wards have splash damage.
Can be improved by Aghanim's Scepter (* shows the improved values).
Mana Cost: 200/350/600
Cooldown: 110
Comment: Dont waste this ulti. use it when needed. Getting a tower, a herokill, or even better, 2 herokills:)

Skill Build

Early Game:

Start the game buying Robe Of The Magi, increasing your mana regen. Tango should do the job if you got hurt.
Ranged heros should be placed mid, i agree, but if you have 3 ranged heros, ask your team if you can go bottom or top.
Rhasta is no doubt a teamplayer hero, but can also get kills on hes own.
If you dont have an alone lane, harass them. force them to go back and heal.
If placed middle, you shouldnt be that aggessive. Know when to use shackle, (when creeps is hitting, or even better, if your tower is!)
Try to get lasthit on the creeps! Enemy creeps, AND your own creeps! Press the Alt key to see how much HP they all have left, then when they have red bar, press "A" on your keyboard, and click on the creep you hopefully would denie!
By doing that, they wont get as much XP as you, which is an advantage.
Try to get as many creeps kills as posible, dont waste all your time on heros, but if the opportunity comes, grab it!!
*Its hard harassing in middle lane, cause of the hills and shadows! Especially when its night!
Early game, keep yourself alive, earn money, lvl up - and if possible - get one or two herokills! Dont seek heros, dont worry theyll soon feel the power of rhasta!

HINT: place 2 observer wards in the river where the Doubledamage, Illusion, invis etc. items drops.
1) to prevent being ganged if your teammates dosnt say miss.
2) If you need the regen, or the invis for ganging them:)

Someone who plays dota for like 3 months could've written this one. Handy alt+tab guide for absolute noobs (1-4 weeks of play) - though useless to the more experienced players. You should emphasize and accurately work out his role of support in the game.

...or just get a bkb

linkens? Ether shock first, then there goes the 8+ disable

and yeah, PB pretty much messes up ward trap

175 By Jhonny75 2010-05-22

psh, if your facing rhasta its too easy to counter him. Just get:
Phase Boot (can pass serpents)
Linken (blocks voodoo/shackle)

Nothing is banned on the great Rhasta..the only banned item is Dagger on VS and Pudge.

But banning Euls on Rhasta is like banning Butterfly on Trax, or Diffusal on PL. It makes no sense to ban it.

Isn't eul's banned on Rhasta? I mean - "hey u go up in the air" ! -"lalala" - MASS SERPENTS UNDER YOU! - "now you are trappin inside wards and can't get out and in 4 seconds your dead" ---kill--- "lalala"

166 By doophus 2009-10-31

rhasta + juggernaut = deadly lane parteners.
Max out shackles and when a hero pushes too hard vs you, shackle him whilst juggernuat does spinny spinny!
Good for early game killing

165 By BigStackOfBeef 2009-10-24

ou should also add Anti-Mage as worst enemies. His quick attack speed, drains mana, and blink can escape wards if net runs out. Plus, with mass mana his ulti will rape you.

But overall, awesome guide love it

antimage is not his worst enemy because he can make his team kill him fast and he can also kill him solo with tornado, wars or hook and teamate kill before he run away plus you got chiken for a last disable. There is nothing he can do unless all your magic get a cooldown.

I think your skill build is quite wrong..because you focused on shackles instead of forked lightning, because shackles is cancellable so it's not effective to focus your skill points to there. besides, forked lightnin is a good nuke ^^

@ royal_joe because then you can have voodoo, guinso hex, euls cyclone , and shackles... pretty gurd disabler.

161 By royal_joe 2009-09-04

y guinsoo when u have vodoo?

Not a full gameplay guide, but I was a little surprised by the quality of information. Seems really good for a noob starting Rhasta, heck, even flat-out starting DotA.

159 By bobbob247 2009-08-26

Lightning will never get you a kill at level 1, shackles can.

You are missing bottle, rhasta is a ganker, and should take care of that.

This guide is just lacking in gameplay, and a bit on the skillbuild.
