Nice work on details. Although i dont think its wise to get void stone before boots. Also an alternate strategy would be to get necronomicon after guinsoo. Your minions can freely attack them when they are hexed, voodooed and shackled repeatdly.

Nice guide, personally I prefer to max out forked lightning before getting voodoo, and sometimes I get dagon or mekans before euls, but overall this is the way to go for Rhasta. I would also put Doom and Traxex in your list of enemies.

@ silent_yet_deadly - as shadowinks sed he has very expensive items... thats correct,, so why not removing kelens?? if you are in a 5on5 game can you buy all items listed? so i think... sell the KELENS..... shet...

Strongly disagree with not maxing Forked Lightning by level 7. Unless you don't want to harass and control a lane and inevitably the game.

I understand why you get voodoo levels 1 and 2 that early, but wasting mana on level 2 and 3 spells at level 7 and 8 greatly decreases your effectiveness. You seem to rely too much on wards by doing this.

You can easily delay the reliance on wards to 12/13 simply by holding off on the voodoo.

Plus having it maxxed at level 7 allows for easier last hitting with it on creeps while harassing. It just seems like a win - win, no brainer to me.

@_noob28_ even if its 5v5 he/she could at least make it the last item even if he would last he could use it to teleport to stop enemies from destroying the tree/frozen throne >_> para nga may kelens pra maka takas eh >_> pano kung patay lahat ng teammates kaya nga kelens dagger of escape eh >_> anyways again great strat ^_^

hmm... if this games lasts that long and you can buy all the expensive items on your wish list, you still don't need refresher orb because cooldown is very fast. and you don't have any item to regen your small life. not unless if your teammates are so good that they make you look good... no offense
practical build will be boots, euls, mechanism, soul booster, dagger of escape, dagon, upgrade to boots of travel, upgrade to guinsoo, upgrade to aghanims. if opponents are really good, you can change to mechanism for aegis in late game, then upgrade dagon upto 5. just for me bro

A lot of pros get 1 level of voodoo early game to disrupt any kind of channels so they can make their get away. some heroes like CM, Pugna, and Vojin come to mind. it was a good choice by guide author IMO.

i prefer lothars edge instead of kelens, cause i ahve difficulty sometimes clicking on the right spot

Apart from BS,DB,Nortrom,NA, and other caster heroes.
You should watchout for NS!
In case you haven't noticed, NS do have disable which is a solid 5s(correct me if im wrong) silence.
And i doubt any hero would survive that 5s against NS(at night, respectively)

Pardon me, Balanar's silence is actually 8s on lv4, 5s is on lv1.
If you counter played quite well by maxing this before anything else(void, hunter), there will be a huge chance to counter rhasta' wards(and any spell dependant hero that is).

when dropping the cyclone+ward combo, i think its better to use voodoo first then shackles once the enemy hero lands. coz casting voodoo after shackles will allow the enemy to be free for a split second and this will give him a chance to blink or watever it is to disrupt ur combo. doing voodoo then shackles will allow u to cast shackles just before the voodoo ends.

at late levels, your armor will be pretty low

and the hp boost will come in handy too

then do it, so that ur eul's, vodoo and shackles do not be wasted...
wards in late games are for pussing the wowers only...

very nice guide, 9/10, highly recommended guide, but one time i was storm spirit, then rhasta cycloned me, then when i fell back down he shackled me, then placed wards next to me, then after shackles he voodooed me, and i had like 400 hp and i got away, obviously this dude forgot to trap me in the wards after cyclone, then lightning, then shackle, then voodoo so i can't escape or attack. then lightning if i was still alive! then it's gg!

rhasta should give u a good score of about 8-4 each game, which is pretty good, but he is kind of a teamplayer next game, and just shackles and voodoos, while his cyclone effect from sceptre is gone, his lightning is weak, and wards are useless, so all rhasta does in late game is also important, chicken and shackles! :D

And smeagol, you should try to trap hero inside your ward(s), that's a must for Rhasta player ...

Just take lightning after maxing voodoo and shackle.. Rhasta is support hero, not a killer, by maxing Voodoo, Shackle and getting refresher orb, you can disable until 5 HEROEs!!! Trap 2 heroes, voodo 2 heroes, shackle the other, what do you say??

Very nice strategy. Realize rhasta is a low life hero though. Otherwise, nice skill build, you should say how skill build can be altered, depending on enemy heroes and so on.

You have to buy blades of attack(650) and broad sword(1200) from the dwarf dude, then buy the dagon recipe(1350). Usually though, dagon is not recommanded for too many upgrades, not even to level 2, haha. But, if you want to upgrade it, it can be upgraded to lvl 5, once u have Dagon I, in your inventory, with at least one slot which is empty, buy another Dagon Recipe (1350), to upgrade to level II dagon, another one for level 3, and so forth...

Anyways, Shadow Shaman is such an awesome hero, people say its a support hero, but wow, going on 1 on 1, it is also amazing. Too many disable skill for other heroes to handle i guess.
Good job, and will wait for more of your strategy to come out :). I give this guide a 9/10, but it is rated 10/10, just bcuz of all the hardwork and effort it took to create this :).

I have noticed that sometimes i trap my enemies in the wards but i never use euls i just click on the floor then they walk into it. Trapping guarantees 90% of a sure kill

I'd choose to make 1/2 bracer(s) early game to keep him survive, because of his very very little hp and his vulnerability.
Also, the other thing you have to mention is, that beside doing Eul>Wards, if you get enough practice, you will learn how to do Voodoo>Wards.
It is by voodooing the enemy hero, then look where will ur enemy move to, and put the wards with the exact timing surrounding the enemy before the voodoo runs out.

in the section for heroes which will eat Rhasta for lunch, i think Axe(Mogul Khan) must be mentioned. when your Rhasta theres no way to kill him except with a friend. (because his passive helix skill gets triggered by all six of your serpent wards and any creeps with you, plus if he hunger and rage you AND you have wards out its GG)

my favorite strategy is with Vengeful. I wrote it in my guide on Vengeful. Put your snakes on your teammate, Vengeful, and then let her switch with someone. Your shackles and her stun will totally kill any hero.

^will only work is there is some1 dumb enough to stay and not blink/ww away once he sees you do that.

I will seriously disagree with most of u here. Blink dagger is an essential iand i tink many have missed the point about it. For only 2150, it could help u to escape if u r pro and don blink straight but into weird corners and help secure a kill. Blink towards a single enemy, wards behind him, shackles so lets say it wud almost be gg,... ... ubnless its a image.(it happened b4) It wud be a surprise attk cos ppl wont be so stupid to get shackled by a rhasta. As for the skill build, its a nono. Voodoo sucks early gameas its a great waste of mana. At lvl 7, casting all ur spells which require a hefty 600 mana which i doubt u will have. A 2 sec hex is a great waste. I wud rather max shackles to all those out thr whowud rather max fork lightning first. Y?
Cos 4.75 sec wud deal almost 190 damage at level 4. Although fork lightning deals 300... wait. $.75 secs of disable, im pretty sure u can make up the 110 dmg somehow unless u r noob. For eg, when a hero attacks u, ur creeps will attack him, normally experienced players just attack once and run. Stupid noobs will continue. An alert rhasta player wud shaclke the hero when he attacks u so that he will tank creep. Try tanking creeps for 4.75 sec. Confrim more than 110 dmg. Maybe twice more. The additional 0.75 sec s cud make ur wardsa ttack one estra more hit too. Ehich wud be 43 max x 8. Obviouslky more than 110 dmg. Altho many may disagree, i seriouskly beliebive this is the best build. Fork lightning is not needed to harass, just wait for the hero to attk u and he will receive more dmg, if shaclked and tanking creeps. A lothar also wud come in very handy as u wud be aimed easily. This requires great skill to dare attack and score kills. Imagine... 2 enemy heroes farming, 1 keleton king, 1 centaur, they may have great health. Blink aim the one without aoe stun, DUH!, ward immeditaly shackles, lothar. This requires great skill. Y the centaur? Firstly, he has no reincarnation secondly, sk cant stun u as it is a targeted stun. U wud score a kill most probably. However,m many might disagree. Thiis is a worst case scenario with 2 str heros with tankage abilities. Try a veno and a cm. Aim the cm = gg.I dont even tink u nid a fork to finish her off. So this is my opinion. A necro book wud be imba too with this guy. Eul is needed not for killing but to disable andrun. A bot is good. A rhasta items shud not be meant for killing, but im my opinion, versatile playing, a bot, blink and lothar and a eul scepter. It might seem like a escaping build but it pawns. And u can run easily. If ganked, lothar run somewhr save, bot or use blink. Vice versa. U wont be a feeder. A pro rhasta is not one with many kills but one owithout survivability skills and a fair amout of kills or assists. That is my opinion and sorry but i wud rate this 4/10.

Everyone has their preference in building rhasta into their own unique hero, okay, maybe not unique, but you know what i mean. So stop trying to say "omg, this guide sux", because it doens't, there might be flaws, as someone pointed out, learning vodoo so early on, maybe not as good as maxing shackles.
When i was just new to dota, which was like year ago, i used rhasta, i told all my friends "omg, this is a good support hero." but guess what, one year later, the now, even though i don't choose him in particular, but he could become a killing machine. at least thats how i understand it.
Okay, stats or math is what u guys want, ill calculate it out. even without the refresher, if you are good and trapped him inside the ward, this is what the damage would look like. you may first lightning 300 dmg
Vodoo = 4 seconds
Guinsoo = 3 seconds
Bind = 4.75 seconds * 40 = 190 dmg
11.75 seconds, after that, another lightning 300 dmg
790 damage WITHOUT you even attacking, but of course, the 7 seconds they are little animals you wouldn't waste it atking creep would you?, of course atk the enemy. say 7 seconds u do a normal 700 dmg, its fair enough for around lvl 16-20+. 1490 or lets just say 1500.
that is quite some damage, but Oh, don't forget, with A. Scepter, there is 12 snakes atking him : ). 73 * 12 = 876 damage per time the snake attacks. so the 11.75 seconds, lets make it they atk once every 2 seconds, they probably attack faster than that, but doens't matter. 6 * 876 = 5256
add that to 1500 = 6756., wait, but hold on, if the enemy cannot teleport which applies to most heroes anyways, he has to fight his way OUT of the ward, that shall give him another 3-4 hits, but ill just say 3 hits, vodoo's cool down only 13 seconds, another vodoo, so say 5 hits, since 1 or 2 snakes has to be killed for him to get out, okay, 10 snakes, 730 damage * 5 = 3650 + your probably 600 atk, 4250 add 6756 = 11006 damage. okay, tell me how rhasta CANNOT be used as a killing hero. and we are NOT talking about UBER items here, just scepter and guinsoo, thats it!, and all the skills maxed, with refresher, perhaps add another 10,000 damage to that. but of course, you gotta minus the armor reduction in damage. but still, if in the very late game, 20,000 damage is not bad right? Pudge in the very late game with 3 hearts only has around 6,000 health, full equipment, he wouldn't even survive without 60 armor or something. which is impossible with 3 hearts there. so you can imagine even a guy with uber armor of around 40 wouldn't be able to survive. so tell me how this cannot be a killer hero.
But of course, he can be supporter too, with his many hexes. but no, why would anyone use refresher to trap 2 heroes vodoo 2 heroes and bind one, whoever said that.
having said that, I agree this build that this guide gives is of much intelligence. why not, but of course, there is no definite equipment, with different battles against different enemies you buy different items, you can't say for sure that a FEW SPECIFIC item is OMFG good for one, it all depends. remember dota is about playing and coming up with strategy WHILE playing the game and learning the experience, one weird way of playing might be good in one situation and not the other. so PLEASE, don't flame the guide saying its bad, if you can do so much better, why not go make a guide and see what other people rank yours as.
lastly, thank smeagol for making the guide for the people in ds. ill give it a 9/10

Thanks for the strategy but i preffer that you should should do shackles first before placing the ward, not the forked lightning.......

One funny thing that happened to me as Rhasta was that I was near an enemy tower, the tower with full life, three enemy heroes (Traxex, Balanar, Terrorblade) and I selected Mss Serpent Ward. I aciddentaly clicked myself and got trapped inside the wards. The three enemy heroes bore down on me and the tower started shooting like crazy. I ended up with a triple kill and tower kill!!!!!

you NEED boots of speed early because 275 MS is the second lowest MS in the game [ first is goblin techies with 270 ms ] and void stone can wait for after the boots .and if you are waiting for your eul's MS you will easily get ganked at the very early game because th ganker doesn't need a slow you are slow naturally .

2 bracers is very important to rhasta because of low HP and a little more mana & regeneration .

4/10 sorry but you need more XP for a guide writhing.

i think it is a nice guide but maybe add omni knight to enemy list, becouse he cant get hit by spells. but it is a very nice guide and i won using it. good job
