An Intelligent Ogre..

an overall good guide, item build, and skill build. I give it an 7/10. Because it is a little bit short. Need more info.

Finally an ogre magi guide thanks so much nidoking.... Although it may be a bit short, it still does the job, 8/10

abitit's a bit short, try to add some tips on how to kill the heros, personaly, that was what i was looking for this hero. It told me what to get and things like that, but what about escaping or hero killing?

good guide i agree with most of your items u dont need vanguard the ring of health will be enough arcane ring is good. and about killing with this hero i think it is more easier that u thought if u scored multicast with fire blast the target hero will die instantly or lose 50-75% of it is life

to me, playing ogre is all luck. Just hope that you can the multicast for the kills. I dont like the idea of having ogre being a tank, just aggy's and guinsoo and linkens. Aggy's is most important for ogre

ogre magi is amazing at hero killing, which you lacked in this strat. personally, that was waht i was looking for when i read this

Imo Vanguard is total waste...
Or go vanguard after the Scepter, because scepter gives Ogre Magi hero killer sstats. 30% multi-cast is very good, and with 5 time multicast u can basically 1 shot lower hp heroes...
I always, build scepter as fast as i can, all others are not so important...
BoS and RoB too ofc...

great strat, I usually use Magi if against high agi-low hp heroes like bone clinkz Aggys scepter is a must!

don't get vanguard, get scepter as soon as possible. for early game armor, better buy ring of basilius, and aegis for late game. linken sphere(or refresher if you have fast reflex) and guinsoo for spell spamming, power threads combined with bloodlust is deadly. and heart of tarrasque for finishing touch. lot of item option, newbie can be confused. for skill build, get bloodlust in early game, dont worry with mana, since you have RoB and perseverance. and then get ignite, and ultimate. get fireblast after lv6 (after get ulti).using fireblast only for hero killing or you pushed too far. spamming ignite and always active bloodlust in farming. now, you have deadly hero instead of support hero.

Ok, Liking the idea of Stats at the start, only get after u get multi cast, 1 thing im not likeing, Orge is Pretty good intel hero early mid game, end game he is a great melee hero, one of the best! I stoped using this hero because the game became to easy, Dota-allstar is right, lacked the hero killing part of orge, stuff the linkons waht other people are saying get a b fury, hes one dealy melee hero late game, tahts why people suck with orge, they try to use as support and get items like mech, arcane ring is the only support i recommend, Vladmirs is a good idea, Soul booster good, Havent tryied radience but i would prefer to tank him up a bit, Eg, Agies.

Who eva said fire blast after lvl 6 is stuipd, its a great support tool for EKing.

Over all i rate this a 6/10

Since you are suggesting Agies, Linkons and Aghems, He doesnt need a tarrsque, that is tank Enough, Really, if you want the HoT go for a b fury, dont was time on a linkons

yeah,it's great tool, if you have multicast.If you don't have multicast it's useless.275 dmg is too small.In early game I prefer bloodlust and ignite, really help in farming.

fury is nice. but I like heavy tanker (aegis + HoT ) and caster. linken is nice for mana regen, since he need very high amount of mana.

More infromation would be nice but it is a well organized nice clena guide.

I rather get linkens than mekanism. Vanguard can give you enough armor to stay tough, and with ogre having the scepter, he is a monster. I have seen ogre with the scepter only and booths of tarvel being Godlike, no trippin'. I think they have added more power to his multicast, coz it deals a lot of damage.

Don't like the item build and I would prefer not to use stats second...

I Guess an Agies would be a Good idea, B Fury gives him the same mana regen tho..

Nice ideas but the build is slow. I'd go with perseverance and then Ags ASAP. A high level ignite should not be underestimated and is needed to creep early on. Then straight to Sheepstick then refresher for the late game combos.

i always go for skadi with this guy

I like pretty much everything about this strat, but stats level 2??? no.. you need ignite so that you can be gay and spam the hell out of kids

a very nice hero an int type hero that has excellent skills. one of my favorite hero on dota. nice strategy its like the same as my build on this hero but never thought of using radiance and vanguard. but ill try since it has bloodlust which can give him additional att spd and the per sec damage of radiance.

well when i play ogre its all a matter of luck weather you multi cast...well you should rush agahims and not vanguard you dont really need the movement speed yet .....once you get agahims ,you can deal a maxed out laguna blade every 15sec WTF lolz(i assume your multicast is maxed)7/10!!1

lol personally i don't think ogre magi needs a vanguard, it's just a waste of gold, but hey, it does add to his tankability

I think you'll just waste gold if you buy vangaurd.... I suggest you should replace vangaurd with an item that will help raise ogre magi's mana... because more mana means more skill.... and more skill means more kill!!!!

Ignite First before Stats, Ogre is a killing machine - type hero. Just buy him 2 Nulls, Basilius, and Void Stone to solve his low mana pool.

its an alright strat i give you props for being the only one to write a guide cause the rest of us are to lazy too but i would suggest adding a hero killing guide which is quite simple bloodlust yourself throw ignite on them and fire them all those who say multi cast is his killer are partialy correct when you add in his attck speed from bloodlust that makes him a pretty good killer specialy since your going for an intel build besides that i agree that you should try to rush for aggenims maybe refrsher b4

Arcane ring rocks! Plus a chicken, I didn't need to go back home the whole game. Do you know guys how the chicken automatically go back to base once it drops or gave you the item without commanding/controlling it?

Items too expensive for a hero that is not that great at farming.

Item build.. not very suited for this dood. His high STR gain suggests to me that he is a battlecaster so...
BoT, Aghanim, Guinsoo, Buriza is good for me

I was once playing 1 vs 1 Ogre Magi vs Abaddon .There was this one time in the late game when I had bloodlusted on me and he had received 3 ignites while pushing the lane.3/4 th hp after having HoT.At one point I used my FireBlast and with Sceptre it hit 5 times in a row.He was like;Ohhh Make This Stop ;Someone Stop this Plz.Luckily his Borrowed time saved him.I put Ignite on him and started chasing him.ASAP I hit the Fireblast just after its cooldown it again had a Multicast and Abaddon was down this time.
Imagine what wud happen to a low Hp herolike Venomancer if hit by this blast multicast.Great hero after having completed Battlefury and Sceptre!!!!

i have some suggestions on this awesome hero:
1. AGHANIM is a MUST
2. get a battle fury or cranium bashers for a killer ogre, enemies won't get away with the bashers.
3. for a magi ogre, get aghanim and guinzoo or tarrasque.
4. guinzoo hexes your enemy and at that point, its MAGIC DEFENSE is ZERO, note that important point for a clear, no items (hood of defiance, planeswalker) and stats (intelligences)reduction, a clear 275*5 damage!!!!
Guinzoo's price (6000++), and in the newer version, there is an additional 450 gold for eul, will be your consideration though.
5. Last, please do support your team killers with bloodlust, it will give you a title of honorable-ogre-magi. lol.

btw, instead of basillus, euls, maybe empty bottle would be another option in the early-mid game. because basillus won't affect that much in late game, and euls cost too much, save your gold for aghanim.
Empty Bottle = 700 gold, 600hp + 300mp and reloadable everytime you go back to the fountain.

this bulid isnt bad i dont get y u go Vlads offering orge isnt a dps hero he doesnt need lifesteal and wheres the linkens it helps agains taargeting spells not a bad strag either

Well erm... ..i never considered The Big Bad Blue Ogre as support....i just rush in and kill them.^^ simple i first skill i get is Fireblast , then stats ignite fireblast,ignite Multicast[my fav] then just try me luck on kiling weak hp heroes .i fireblast luckily multi kicks in, ignite,fireblast i can whack by this time, then ...DEAD enemy ^^

radiance doesn't suit him!
replace it with aghanims coz multicast is a killer skill. Increase the chance and you'll be unstoppable. We both have the same build but mine I rush the aghanims before anything else..

ok a few suggestions:

arcane ring is key get it first

lust is great for allies that rely ons peed, get it...ie troll!

ignite is amazing early game for finishing off ur opponent and generally harassing, 30hp/sec is key early on, and later for the movement decrease.

toss ignite on them, multicast fireblast, and u can solo heroes too.

ogre is more team based later on, so build around that!

actually ogre's str grow is 3,2 so its better get ignite early for farm and arras and also kill

just rush arcene ring and aghaniam scepter = OWN!!!

I prefer Ogre Magi as a primary spellcaster and not a melee fighter although having a yasha and travel boots would be nice.having the scepter and some +int items is a great thing
Try getting an arcane ring because you will be needing it for Mana regen in case you wanna get away

I found arcane ring on him as a core item until level 20, farming and killing is a breeze

IF your a lucky person, go scepter, unlucky go dmg, melee etc. simple as that.

I think you are completely missing the point of the Ogre Magi by trying to turn a mage unit into a melee tank or support caster.

This guy is neither, he is a hero killer.

A brief guide, and some mistake as well.
I dont think vanguard are proper, coz ogre is not tanker. He made last hit & deny.
I could not prefer radiance too. He only stuns 1.65 seconds. By the time he get close, hero run already and you could top 2-3 maximum hit. Maybe i'll spend that for eye skadi.
Anyway still nice guide, i give 8/10.

It was alright but best for mid-late game and early game harrassing...get arcane ring early and just harass with FB and ignite...make him use his heals and go back to base...so get arcane, then power treads(go from strength to intelligence depending on what you need), then mystic staff, and soul booster, and thats gg...after this just simply depend on on the opponents. (ex i played lion, and got spell reduction) keep up with other players until you get staff and then its gg for you

Hmm, definitely a different ogre magi approach than my own. I find getting a perseverance after a null talisman lets me stay in the fight longer and even spam some painful spells (early ignite hurts a lot in a combo). I'm not a big fan of BoT either as he is a melee hero and needs the extra damage/aspd from treads, the movement can be made up for by a combo of bloodlust and ignite easily. Go for guinsoo's first because you can break the perseverance apart to build it, then get megacast scepter

My build would be:

-Treads (cause he has high damage)
-Aghanim (cause his ult rocks)
-Dagon (cause it can multicast)
-Linken's Sphere (cause nobody will stop you from chasing your enemy)
-Shiva's Guard (again cause the enemy won't escape)
-and maybe Malevolence or Guinsoo (for disabling)

huh radiance? i think it more better if you go for mkb rather than radiance but it is still usefull but i will prefer more to mkb...and i think if u will go tank try not to go for a vanguard aim more for HoT i will be more useful

Ah, I luv ogre magi - he's very easy to use, it's a nuker with nice STR gain and his lvl 3 Ulti has 20% (or 30%) chance for an Eclipse , which cooldowns only 6 seconds ^^. Strategy is really nice and clear, but its kinda too short. Apart from it - good job nidoking.
