Okay first of all, Skill Build. Max Gush and Anchor smash, Case Closed. Second of all, No Hearts!!!??! Oh man you will get totally screwed later in the game if you have no Hearts. And 2 Battle Furys is better than a S&Y and Loathars, Plus Refresher is Kinda worthless because after you ulti once then you can gush to slow rathar than wasting all that mana and likely not being able to cast gush.

well i understand your despute guys. Its my first time to make this strat. i respect every comments that you make. HONESTLY this is my build but if you guys say so im going to include HoT. . sigh..

wrong skill build and item build, kraken shell will only be gotten once just to prevent negative buffs, plus maxing out gush, and anchor smash is your priority, refresher would really be useless, you wont even have the mana for a second gush, getting a heart instead of a refresher would be better, another is that lothars wouldnt be good , a kelen would be better, blinking in then ravage would be better than walking in, you don't even know if your enemy got wards, no SnY , you wouldn't have the atkspeed to activate maim, gush is already good along with ravage to kill 1 hero, 21k is the total cost of your item build if it would be complete, item build is too expensive, highest gold output in a 5 vs 5 game would be 15k, and thats hard to achieve,

why you guys get battlefury if this guy has such a good farming skill: anchor smash?
with battlefury even if you spin around an anchor smash doesn't always occur.
furthermore, you are not a dps hero but a tank, so heart is a must.

Man Vanguard and HoT are the greatest items cause stucked with your Kraken Shell it will reduce up to 50 damage.And if you wanna be killing machine make desolator.

I can't believe SOOO many people get Anchor Smash before Kraken Shell. He doesn't have the ASPD to trigger it early game anyway. *shakes head* Though I concur that you item build lacks. Heart and Blink are must-haves for him. I don't really recommend refresher.. Better get Boots of travel and mask of madness. Though I have to say you defended your build pretty well in your strat. And I'm 90% sure that the people above me didn't bother to read the whole strat. They just looked at the skill and item build. Mattaku..

Don't take it personally if someone hates your strat. Happens to everyone, even the drew like me (heh). I would never buy a refresher orb for this guy. After Battle Fury, I'd go for HoT, then something for damage, probably a Buriza. Then Ancient Tango.

To others i dont really care it's MY build anyway so do whatever you want. I haven't been beaten using my build yet so go figure. and yukino yes i sometimes use refresher but usually it doesnt take that game that long for me to buy one. but thanks for the great comment.

Uhhm.. The Refresher Orb build is ok. No problem with that, But what if you change Battle Fury to Guinsoo's Scythe Of Vyse, since you already have Sange and Yasha, attack speed and attack power wont be a problem. Plus, Tidehunter need more mana points, the Scythe gives more mana and a quicker mana recovery. Just a suggestion tol. SUMMARY : 7 / 10

No prob karuma. I just think that it's unfair if people don't read your strat [happened on my Luna guide.. I posted screenies that Skadi works with her but still people said that it doesn't]. And also, why not try the guide first right? It might work. *shrug*

i usually go with ravage, hit 1-2 times, then gush and chase
it usually works
even mid game
and yes i also disagree with kraken shell early game
preventing 20 damage issnt a lot, and buying a battlefury will more than compensate for it
anchor smash is a must for farming and killing
20 dmg prevented is not as good as 200 damage AOE

i go for battle fury , HOT and then satanic and end up with Hyper stone.

i sometimes like to max out kraken shell. at lvl 4 (you'll be at level 8 or so) you can take car of any neutral creeps, seeing as that it reduces thier attack damage to 1-6. very nice for farming early game

Why get kraken shell at level one? Theres nto gonna be any ganking levels 1-5.

I can see this strategy making sense... just because tide is traditionally a tank doesn't mean you have to play him that way. With the sheepstick rather than S&Y, you have sheep, 2xgush, and 2x ravage (2xsheep? idk) which should be plenty to turn tide into a powerful hero killer. I'm not so sure about the lothar's, but I haven't given it a fair shot either. My instinct would be to use kelen's. In any case, this build seems like a plausible hero killer tidehunter build. Does anyone have any objections that don't amount to denouncing a non-tank build for not being a tank build?

This looks like a good Shadow Fiend build, minus the battlefury and refresher. Maybe you should try playing with him instead...

Kraken Shell is very important to this guy, with it you wont need to worry if your enemy lineup includes venomancer and doom, plus it works like a vanguard(minus the hp regen) and refresher is useful for this hero, ravage + gush + 2 attacks+ ravage will surely hurt nice guide 8/10

basically my skill build is same as yours
our difference is the item i use items like aegis, vanguard, and HoT...

This guide's good!!!!! At least someone knows how the Leviathan skill build works. I usually pick first gush, kraken shell, when your lv 6 ravage, if you maxed out gush and kraken get the anchor smash. I agree with yukino says, since TH doesn't have that fast atkspd at early game, why get it?? Dude its really not that good to get the refresher, but the sheepstick is way better than SnY... 7.9/10

I wouldn't get buriza, I really think MkB is better than Buriza - especially with A N C H O R S M A S H !

You covered most of what to encounter in a game, giving practical hero synergies(aka. combos) is a pretty nice idea. Don't worry too much about the "my build pwns yours" mentality some might display. People, remember there are more ways to play a hero than your way. Personally, I'd get a blink dagger over lothats, cheaper and offers the same functionality(and not countered by gem/wards)

Good guide. Though i really don't include refresher in my build. i always get kracken first than anchor since that would make TH almost invulnerable to creeps (try it out + vanguard) also it removes buffs even doom which can save you from dying (at times). Besides, the 20% chance of anchor added the slow attacj speed of TH aren't a match at all. It's your build anyway and it's good. as what Steve-O said post some screenies so those who don't read the guide (using the akill and item build for basis only) would UNDERSTAND better. Good Job!

i like getting bf treads and hyper on levi, it makes him so much more dangerous and makes it so easy to farm too. the last three items i buy depend on who im playing against but generally i get a hot, aegis, or butterfly.

.... lemme just say this first I am probaly one of the best leviathan players in the game if not the best. u dont buy a agility item with a tank lothars? HAHAHAHAHAH and refresher orb id rather have a radiance.sang and yasha ok i guess i really dont though unless i need some speed and i usually dont. the only items u need are these 3 items 2 rad and a battlefury. thnik im noob try it out i get beyond godlikes doing that all the time and if u have the money buy a burzia or a heart depending on the situation. last game i only bought the qst three items solod all 5 of there heros. so all i can say about this strat is

No need for 2 ravages since you always have your teammates with their combos to help. Also, this hero doesn't solo so often in mid-late game.

for everyone who says to get two cranium bashers for laviathan it is completely useless as the effectiveness of the bash is completely overpowered by gush. What is the point on being able to stun an enemy with bash if they are going to die any way. It's a waste fo gold rather you should focus on increasing damage and only damage with battlefury buriza radiance heart (for extra health as well) and treads for ms adn attack speed. If you want to increase stats get a hero that needs them or buy a divine rapier as once your damage is that high you WON'T be dying any time soon and use the extra spaces to get more hearts. Karuma i think the idea of getting lothars is intresting purely for the windwalk as everything else it gives is negligable for tidehunter i might try it out. Your style is different to mine but it has merit and with a few adjustments could do well. Good try though.

also this hero is an awesome base destroyer late game. If YOUR base is being attacked by heaps of enemy heroes i just leave my team mates to defend and run through the forest to their base and the towers and buildings die so quickly that buy the time they noticed what was happening and tried to come back their entire base was gone. also hyperstone is a good item to get late game.

Well,ummm it's honestly kinda weird when i saw the refresher item but when i read the strat it seems ok...alsoumm i think it is kinda better if you add more hp boosting items instead of the lothars..i mean your an str your built to last also i agree max out kraken first before anchor smash TH has too slow atkspd... 6/10

Ur strat is quite good... Levi is surely one my most fave hero in DotA... I usually buy a vanguard or power treads and then sange yasha first since I use this guy as a tank, power treads shall give me more speed to flee or chasing enemies, as well as raising the frequencies of anchor smash (hmm... more attack speed means greater chance to anchor smash, right?)... In the mid-late game, I'd prefer a HoT or Aegis, depends on the situation...

Good effort on the strategy, but the skill build and the item build is rather awkward.
You must max anchor smash and Gush or Kraken ASAP otherwise farming will be a difficult affair. And BAttleFury is not a good choice. IT may seem like he's attacking like the anchor smash but theres really no difference. ITs just in the animation. UNless you are buying it for mana regen or the damage increase. Refresher orb is a waste of money. Blink dagger is a sensible choice though. Good effort

Ok This strat isnt really good becuase y the fuck u need a guisinoos and lothar? They cost a lot, and you can get better items for less the price (ie:Hearts) And y the fuck would u farm late game? thats really gay..... the skill build isnt even correct.... 1st max gush, then anchor smash then do whatever you want....

i mean sure he has high life and damage but he sure swings kinda slow...how do i fix this?

another thing...his combos and strikes hurt a lot but i can't seem to land a finishing blow as the enemy's too fast for me to chase..and i can't seem to get a lot of hits around only 2 hits per 1 sec stun...

I like this Strat. I am going to disagree with most of you and say that you do not need HoT with Tidehunter. Whenever I use him, I get Vlad, SnY, Hyperstone, Tread, n twin bashers. With Vlad, you do not need HoT, which is expensive to farm anyways.

I would like to add Radiance in his inventory..
After battle fury plus Treads plus radiance he will become good farmer
and will buy item more fast ..

ok... all i have to say is that you and i play tide hunter very very differently.

allow me to give my comments regarding the items you picked and the skill build as well.

first the skill build. my opinion is that you should only get 1 point of kraken shell if the enemy can give you unwanted buffs like shadowstrike and some other nasty things. otherwise, do not get it early game. why?


first is that it does not help against harassment. early game, the major source of harassment are spells not physical attacks and kraken shell can do nothing against it. if someone argues that normal attacks do hurt, i'll tell that person that you buy your ring of regen for those kinds of "harassments".

i am aware that yukino_silvermaine argued that you should not get anchor smash early game because of the lack of attack speed to trigger it. my opinion is that you get anchor smash early game because it hurts when it triggers. what im saying is that tidehunter has an advantage early game because of his high hp hence you should build up his offense rather than defense. if someone still argues that anchor smash is bad early game, then you should just go gush stats as the extra int is really needed.

oh and i choose damage over invulnerability to creeps early game since you should not tank creeps early game.

next is the choice of items. blink dagger is a must have (not optional) for this hero so you can initiate battle with blink ravage. battlefury is not needed. in my opinion, radiance is soooo much better. ive tried battlefury and radiance countless of times and in my opinion radiance is really better bacause the sparkle pwns. also additional proof that radiance > battlefury is that radiance has been nerfed over and over while battlefury gets buffed to make battlefury on par with radiance.

and instead of burixa, i think assault is much better since it both increases survivability and damage not only to you, but to your whole team.

remove guinsoo, an int hero is much more suitable to have one since practically, you will be paying 5175 gold for 6 cyclone(assuming you've used all charges before making guinsoo), hex and 35 damage. its not worth it.

oh.. and as you've said, its your guide and i cant do a thing about it. all i want to do is share my views

why most of you prefer levi CASTER?

my usual build is
- treads
- hood of defiance (2x) *
- assault cuirass
- linken's sphere
- hyperstone

i'm sure 18k is fair enough

*i don't know if it stacks, but at least the HP regeneration works great!

For my Stat points for levi:
1.Gush
2.Kraken Shell
3.Anchor Smash
4.Ravage
5.Stats
(I go for invulnerability for creeps, very hard to kill for heroes and gush user for harassing opponent)

My Item build for levi:
1.Power Treads (not optional)
2.Vanguard (combination of Kraken Shell. The enemy hero will find difficulties to kill you)
3.Battle Fury (I usually dont use Sword of Radiance. Battle Fury gives me 150% mana regen for gush harass and 6hp per sec. From now on your hp regen will be 10hp per second.)
4.Assault Cuirras (Gives you addittional armor and reduce armor for enemy and specially speed. Your opponents defense will reduced more by using gush. Now its not hard for you to kill a hero)
5.Sange and Yasha (also it adds hp, defense, speed and your enemy has a low chance of escaping)
6.My last item will be on an optional. This is my optional Items according to its situation:

-Blade Mail for melee enemy heroes. Vladimir's Offering for an enemy hero that has a Blade Mail. Cranium Basher for Ranged enemy heroes so that they have a very low chance of escaping and counter attack. Heart of Tarasque for additional damage, life and regen for tanking and for just hard to kill you. Buriza if you want more damage. And finally Hood of Defiance for skill users. For 2vs2 up to 5vs5 play, I prefer to use Heart of Tarasque.

-I know that my items is so expensive. But if you manage to make Battle Fury in lvl 11 to 13, you can buy this items as fast as you could.

-Like me i can make a battle fury in that lvl on 5vs5 play. I defeated a hero that has a Divine Rapier. This is my favorite char on melee.

strongly advise to max gush and anchor smash before getting kraken shell. gush dmg + anchor smash dmg on reduced armor is something that cant be overlooked. Also kraken shell is very usefull at team battles not at lane controls unless your opps at lanes are ranged with disables or stuns or slow then get kraken before anchor. secondary lothars and refresher is a no no for tide with little exceptions (4 strngth heroes with no disables so you have to use levi as an intell hero). Instead try assault cuirass and HoT. Respond if you find something wrong.

tideuhnter is a great hero for a team.
i use Battle Fury, Boots of Travel (390 plus you can help teammates easily even if the tidehunter is pushing), Mask of Madness, Another Battle Fury or Midas.

That is right, Max Gush and Anchor Smash. By that time you already have Battle Fury and see the Leviathan's attack. He's always jumping. Add Mask of Madness and you get a crazy guy doing jumping ropes.

terrible guide man, no flaming intended. to those that read it and check the comments, please refer to eyefury's comments for how to play this hero, especially players new to levi. unrealistic and what i would consider a "fun" build only accomplished in an EM game filled with unskilled players(who will most likely leave and ruin the game anyway by the time u make a build like that. a poorly written guide man, sorry to say.

Ok....you need battle fury; 2 hearts; Sange and Yash(for the movement and attack speed); and boots of travel... although this is alot of money this is what would be a great and unstoppable build!!...also max gush and anchor smash before you get the shell because late game is when you need shell.

All you haters should shut up and stop posting, this is a G-U-I-D-E. It doesn't tell you to do everything exactly as it is written, there are 80+ heroes in DoTA and you should be flexible enough to know if this guide fits or not.

If your enemies has a Gem then get dagger instead of Lothar. It's that simple.

This is a good guide, it has fresh ideas but it doesn't work on all situations same as all other guides - other wise if it did then what's the use of playing anyway...

I hate your strategy.Make leviathan fighter with lots of Hp and you have a very hard hero to face with.With your item build it is enough to make a simple BKB and they will own you.I prefer make Radiance,HoT,Satanik and Monkey and Dager(optional) if your team play with lots of gangs.

I have used this straegy, and many times when I used gush on the enemies they run and escape, so I think thath Travel Boots its a nice item for this Hero.

dont bother wit vanguard all kraken is good enough. my item build is:
-null and bracer
-treads or boots ( depends on how going early)
-battle fury
-assault curass
Curass should be bought asap so that when ravaging enemy heors can be fatally dmaaged.
Gush and kraken should be maxxed early with maybe 1 anchor smash at lvl 4 or 5 instead of kraken

Thanks for the strategy dude. I haven't tried buying lothars, and I don't think I feel like doing that myself. The other things worked fine, liked to refresh my ulti. Could be a bit of mana problem for me sometimes though.
