Unkn0wn's entry for Dotastrategy's contest...The old raijin thunderkeg has been praised by a lot of players and used by a lot to win their matches...But when the new raijin came, he was hated by a lot of people...which is sad. But people only started to see his potential when he was used by pros in the tournaments...So now, I will try to help you in using raijin thunderkeg in your matches..From a late game DPS carry now truned into a ganking, spamming, late game chasing carry, I present you...my guide to RAIJIN THUNDERKEG (and hopefully my first and successful guide ^_^)

Raijin Thunderkeg

Raijin Thunderkeg - Storm Spirit


Range: 500 | Move Speed: 295
Primary: INT
Str: 17 + 1.5 | Agi: 22 + 1.8 | Int: 26 + 2.6
Damage: 45 - 55 | HP: 473 | Mana: 299
HP Regen: 0.76 | Mana Regen: 1.05
Attack Speed: 0.72 | Armor: 5
Static Remnant Static Remnant (R)
Raijin creates a remnant of himself containg his essence. The Static Remnant will release its stored energy whenever an enemy unit comes near it. Lasts 12 seconds.
Level 1 - 140 Damage.
Level 2 - 180 Damage.
Level 3 - 220 Damage.
Level 4 - 260 Damage.
• Damage type: magical
• Static Remnants take 1 second to materialize after this spell is cast.
• Remnants have flying vision and can see over cliffs and trees.
• The explosion actually hits units in a 260 AOE, but will only be triggered by units within 235 AOE.
• Area of Effect: 235
Mana Cost: 70/80/90/100
Cooldown: 4
Comment: Raijin's spammable skill...4 seconds cooldown is nothing to laugh about...you can stack up to 3 of these maximum It takes 1 second to cast...It's not channeling...just time delayed T_T and it also has a 700 unit range vision...and it has a detection aoe of 235 and an explosion aoe of 260...this means that the enemy must be near you so it can hit him/her...this skill is not a targeted skill...once you click it, raijin instantly plants his remnant to the place where he stands...

Electric Vortex Electric Vortex (E)
Storm focuses his energy to rip open vortex drawing an enemy to it. This process slows the Storm Spirit down for a brief period.
Level 1 - Pulls 100 units over 1 second.
Level 2 - Pulls 150 units over 1.5 seconds.
Level 3 - Pulls 200 units over 2 seconds.
Level 4 - Pulls 250 units over 2.5 seconds.
• This ability slows the Storm Spirit by 50% for 3 seconds.
• This skill is blocked by Linken's Sphere and can't target magic immune units.
• Casting range: 300
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 20
Comment: You can use this to pull an enemy near you to trigger the remnant's explosion (if you planted one near you) OR to let your allies beat the pulp out of that perma-bashing monster T_T This is a channeling spell and it slows your movespeed by 50% for 3 seconds...this is blocked by linkens sphere...
Overload Overload (V)
Storm Spirit becomes overloaded with electrical energy whenever he casts a spell. The charge is released on his next attack as an electrical burst, dealing damage and slowing nearby units.
Level 1 - 30 damage.
Level 2 - 45 damage.
Level 3 - 60 damage.
Level 4 - 75 damage.
• Damage type: magical
• Overload slows all affected units' movement speed by 80% and attack speed by 50% for 0.6 seconds.
• Using items does not trigger Overload.
• Area of Effect: 300
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Comment: This skill occurs whenever you use any skill...the bonus damage aint that bad ^_^ you can use this to last hit creeps and to slow enemy heroes down...
Ball Lightning Ball Lightning (G)
Storm Spirit becomes enveloped with energy, losing his physical form, and travels until he depletes his mana or reaches his target. While in this form, he deals damage to nearby units based on how far his electrical form has traversed. Damage, speed and area of effect improves per level.
Level 1 - Moves the Storm Spirit to the targeted location doing 8 damage per 100 units traveled at 1250 movespeed.
Level 2 - Moves the Storm Spirit to the targeted location doing 12 damage per 100 units traveled at 1875 movespeed.
Level 3 - Moves the Storm Spirit to the targeted location doing 16 damage per 100 units traveled at 2500 movespeed.
• Damage type: magical
• If the Storm Spirit runs out of mana while traveling he will stop immediately.
• Initial mana cost: 15 + 7% of total mana pool.
• Mana cost per 100 units traveled: 10 + 1% of total mana pool.
• Instant cast abilities can be used while traveling.
• While using this ability, the Storm Spirit is invulnerable.
• This ability destroys trees.
• Area of Effect: 150/225/300
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Comment: Raijin's most famous ulti!!! He rolls, He pwns!!! You can use this to chase enemy heroes but it takes up a lot of mana. You can also use this to initiate ganks and kills. The manacost that it takes up depends on how far you travel... (15 + 7% of total manabase) + mana based on distance traveled (10+1% per 100 units)

Do you think that Guinsoo or Orchid is better on Storm? Because Storm could use the extra dmg/as from Orchid, but Guinoo's hex is just straight imba. Some may even say that Shivia is the best...so plz relpy so i don't suck anymore

gr8 guide. i used ur dagon build and got beyond godlike : 11/0/7. but i started getting kills only after lvl 17. is there any way to make SS a mid-game ganker?

One fact about Eye of Skadi : provides most mana pool among all dota items, blood stone gives u 400, shiva 390, orchid even less, but skadi gives whole 475 + nice regen boost, even u dont need a slow it still replaces well HoT - 25 str gain gives u much HP :) So my buid is (since farming with storm is rly easy) : Bloodstone, guinsoo, Skadi, Bot, Shiva, and u won't propably reach ur 6th

my skill build if you are playing with a tank, stunner or somene with a follow move like juggernaut is
remnant,vortex,overload,vortex,vortex,ball,vortex and then the rest is up to you

Vortex is crucial early because it allows you and your ally free hits on the target which could lead to a lot of eearly kills, heck, you might even get a FIRST BLOOD
