VERY important. also some spiritbreaker users tend to buy 1 S&Y with an additional yasha for movement and attack speed. ( as for spiritbreaker, it increases his attack damage too)

Well, my build for this hero is
1) threads
2) SnY(main item)
3) hyperstone
4) Heart
with these items, you can kill almost every hero

act2uaLLy, it's good...but i prefer putting him with these items : threads, perse, hyperstone, S & Y, then Assault Cuiriass...then the last 2 items, depends on the enemy heroes...but overall, 810..nice job..

Travel is > threads on Spirit breaker
Spirit Breaker needs the movespeed bonus to deal more damage with haste. Mkb isn't also the best choice as a damage item since it'll mess up your bash and the mini stun does magic damage if your melee, I would reccomend either Buriza or Radiance as your damage item.

As for your skillbuild:
Charge of darkness isn't good early game since your job early game is to farm, Bash and Haste early gaem helps you farm with their bonus damage which can help you last hit.

Not really my type of build although sb is one of my top 3 heros... for me its a must to max out greather bash and empowering haste ASAP it will help for last hiting and harassing enemies..sb can kill early game easy in my opinient even on your "beware range heros" drow and prophet can be easily killed. harass them with normal attacks when your level 6-8 wait until theres a greater bash hit keep hitting and nether strike=dead heres my iteam build

I agree with several of the commenters. SnY is essential for SB as this gives him attack-speed (for the bash) Str (for hp) and ms (for empowering haste and more dmg). Though I would build my SB like this:

BoT is not as essential for sb as ppl think, power treads and S&Y are all SB needs

Surprised you didn't mention BKB as an optional item and also very surprised that you don't get S&Y. As the game goes on, Charge + Ult will become less and less able to kill people so you need a way of slowing them and making sure you can get your hits through.

Anyway I agree with maxing Charge of Darkness cos I like killing people at level 7 and maxing Haste or Bash isn't going to help anyway if you're being harrassed by a ranged hero.

Finally MKB is a nono as other have said, it cancels previous bashes.

Swap the treads for Boots of travel with barathrums movespeed and his aura boots of travel shine with him. And you already have hyperstone as an item, no need for treads.

No need to convert your hyperstone to assault if you already have HoT. I prefer SnY, Hyper, BoT, Buryza, HoTx2. I luv Neither strike but it is funny/buggy though. I've experienced it twice. I once chasing an enemy then he suddenly attempted to teleport to his base, I Nether Strike him for the final kill and boom!! I'm dead meat hahaha!! coz I've been teleported as well to his base and SB just melted down like an icecream LOLz. Next day I played again and used SB. I tried to Nether Strike the teleporting hero coz I was thinking that the first time it happened, it was just a coincidence but it did the same thing, SB is a dead meat with his soul flying on the base of the enemy saying "oh crap, you never learned ur lesson dickhead!! haha!!

uh, just to say something i usually don't charge from a distance because since whenver you charge someone, they can see it on their status icon, the longer the distance, the more time it allows them to notice and react accordingly. since you still get the zero collision i prefer charging from like out of the fog of war. invisibility won't really matter that much.

I agree with u Transfat!! I don't charge from base because of that shittin pink icon that keeps on blinkin on the enemy's end, not unless if you are charging a noob he won't notice it. About the Bot vs. Threads, it's ur own build. Just remember, if you have Hyperstone included on your items, convert your threads to BoT. Hyperstone+BoT is like Super Power Threads of Travel hahaha!! Whew!! I think they should include that as a new item on the new map LOLz!!!

After Travel and SnY, it becomes easier to kill and farm. You'll have no problem dishing out the other items.

You should buy Sange & Yasha and BoT to improve his ms. Coz its 2nd skill 16 percent of ms convert to damage

first you do not have any justifications in your skill and item builds. you use an unconventional build so it needs lots of justifications. now to explain why the conventional build is superior: haste and bash is definitely needed early game for last hitting. do you know that haste deals separate damage other than your attack? so basically SB has two attacks: one from his normal hit and one from haste. therefore more speed means more damage for SB. thats why travel and SnY are the core items for this hero. also, being a str hero, sb is somewhat forced to be a tank. however, being a tank doesnt mean you cant deal massive dmg. actually, the best tanks are those that can deal great damage to force your enemies to hit you instead of your allies.
if you dont want to change your item and skill builds, you should at least justify it.

Um Travel gives alot more damage than threads with empowering haste and it allows you to defend and attack unlike thread's measly 35% attackspeed.

I was shocked to read this . Most SpiritBreaker users would get S&Y for their major item. Threads 60ms i think! travel 90Ms. look at the gap 30 ms! extra ms = xtra dmg. Early charges you would not like to get to a pile of heroes early since you dont have s&y for xtra hp!

what he's basically sayings is that he likes the extra attack speed then the 25 extra movement speed. also said taht charge can substitute for teleportation.Breaker already has two chasing skills and one sorta chasing passive skill (bash) so IMO extra movemtn speed NOT needed. I agree with guide author. And I calculated the actual damage B.o.T would give you and its really not taht much over treads.

BoT is better on like every hero than treads, its just that on SB the difference between them is not so great. Sure you great more damage from BoT but there is DSP is better on Treads. I think there is a disscussion on some SB guide, i think Lawyer's, about the two different boots so go see for yourself. The real great difference is the teleport on BoT, thats it.

Anyway on the guide SnY over MBK and upgrade your hyperstone to an ac later.

Hmm... I would agree on transfat. I think treads over BoT. BoT is much more expensive and you'll be needing aspeed at early game. Treads is roughly 1000g less cheaper than BoT. I would choose +35% aspeed over an extra +25 ms for the greater bash skill just to be efficient with the skills.

Not many items can give you movespeed, and please you can easily get more attackspeed elsewhere.

why do people always insist on putting in what items they will use just becuase they think its better. This comments is meant for people to say what they think about the stratergy guide not as something for those to post on cause they are too lazy to write their own. The items will work well as explained through the guide and if u think otherwise write your own damn guide or piss off. Good guide.

Hyperstone or Mask of Madness isn't that hard to farm for early game, I rush relic on some heroes so Hyperstone won't be too much of a problem. The problem is does Barathrum really need the attack speed to own early game? Most of the time he'll only need to use netherstrike and it's GG. It's only late game when he needs the permabash like attack speed.

Btw he forgot that Nether strike negates certain skills like Pandas primal split

You know what you're doing but have left out some points... and the itembuild is a wee bit questionable. Mmm, theres no problem with this guide but there are in fact better ones existing... I reckon 9/10 still.

The guide is very good. I guess this is his build because of the enemy. Sometimes, you need to change your build depending on your opponent's ability and skills. In some cases, threads is cheap to buy but destructive. Other instances need a BoT. Thus, your build depends on you on how to counter your enemies ability. Overall, you have a nice guide though.

Ok. For sb, with max empoweing haste + sny + bot = roughly 451.44 ms. With empowering haste bonus to attack, tat gives about 73 damage. Hell, its a free relic...

With ur build, treads with no sny, u get
about 383.4 ms. With the cauculation as above, u hav roughly 61 extra attack. Hey a 12 damage bonus after buying roughly..5-6k gold of extra stuff.

With treads with sny, u hav roughly 421 ms. like that, u hav an extra 67 damage.

Now, with ur build, u just nerfed sb. First u say his one of the fastest strength heroes with empowering haste. THen u give him a build that gives him 383.4 ms. Dude, several int and strength heroes hav higher ms than him with onli a bot.

Therefore, it is best to buy bot and sny, despite sny's small chance to maim, it still is worth it with extra 10% ms. Of course, a tread with sny will be just as good, as its just another 30 ms, u'll still be one of the fastest strength heroes AND u get extra 35% attk speed. How cool is that!

Although I like the teleport in bot...

SnY and BoT are the main items of sb. Heart must also be bought because it is essential for most sof str heroes. I would prefer desolator in late games because charge and ns can't kill a hero that easily in late games. Deso means more damage easily because of charge and bash.

this is a good guide, for me i usually start a battle with charge of darkness, lets say from another lane or form your base. then only finish a battle with nether strike if opponents get away..

Hmmm, very interesting comments i've read about the discussion on SB's item on MS... well, i dun really care much bout to get BOT or threads. With threads u can save like 1k and have atk spd. With BOT u can rush to a location(building) when enemy's pushing, and still have ur charge ready to kill. It all depends. Conversly, threads are like gd 4 hero killing at short distances + bad in farming 20 creeps along ur lane + bad running away from ganks + 1k gold. BOT is gd 4 hero killing at longer distance + bad farming 20 creeps along ur lane + beta (not 100%) 4 running away from ganks.
In my view, if u keep getting ganked and ur opp have gd teamwork, u beta get something to fly away...

Well, at low lvs (1-6) u oni need lv 1 greater bash because--> 1. u need the skills points for other skills. 2. the extra skills points are better off on other skills. 3. other skills are of better use to the skill points.
hahas, that was stupid. Anyways, to add in, u need the skill point for charge of darkness. Y? Since charge of darkness cost 120mana at lv1, 120 mana at lv2, 120 mana at lv3 and 120 mana at lv 4, and e stun duration increases duh!

Of course, any combination of strength and speed is. -- if i may comment being in the top of the list is subjective as u have said; u gave it a try and there u realised he's a killer... any hero in the list can/may be on top depending on how effective one utilizes the skills --even kardel can be a killer!

This strategy seems to be made for pub-level play. I think it is better than some random items that a beginner might buy so it is probably helpful for some.

I do however disagree with some points in this build.

Massing charge early isn't so effective. Sure it is a pretty nice skill, but early on you won't be doing much killing unless you play noobs. You have to recognize this isn't a early game hero, try compare it to tinker or maiden or something. Instead you should focus on farming early game, for that purpose haste is important!

I see where you are going with threads and hyperstone trying to make moust of the bash skill and get some dps. However getting travs is even more powerful. With most heroes, even with no synergy to travels, skilled players want to pick them over treads anyway. It adds to your teamplay ability, escaping, chasing and farming. In games with skillfull players, travs do have a much more dramatic effect than casual pubs. So if people pick travs even with no skills supporting them, you should definately get them for barathrum. You get even more movement speed than u normally do from travs. Also you get a sweet damage bonus. Generally the more skillfull people get the less they use treads, this isn't a good hero for treads either.

As you are a str hero you should be working as a tank for the team beside doing damage, I believe HoT is excellent direction to go to with your build. I must agree with previous posters though that SnY is really good on the breaker. Every thing SnY gives you is useful. You get more life, even more movement speed, some attack speed and the nice maim along with damage. With SnY in addition to doing badass damage you start getting to higher hp amounts and you become a badass ganker. It will be difficult to escape from you now!! Dont under estimate your opponents, they can escapefrom you with the SnY on you, so they damn sure can do so when you don't have it. Good players are agein alot better at escaping than pubbies, so maybe this is another reason you don't recommend SnY for people.

So my recommendation build is (some early regen items like tangos) 2 bracers [travs SnY] [hot/satan/hood] cuirass/hot

meaning that you can get str items of SnY before you complete travs if you feel like it.

I recommend you give this build a try and perhaps comment on it as it is a commonly used SB build and commenting/including it would be good for this guide

Oh and you could also mix radi in there too after the SnY somewhere depending on game.

best item for this guy is SnY. easy to farm for and fits great on him -,- ALWAYS get SnY for spirit!!

so here goes.. i go to this particular cafe to play dota like everyday..so often that i became friends with the owner of that place... he comes behind me once inawhile and tell me to do that instead of this and bla bla bla... i didnt listen to him... till one day.. he said care for a friendly one on one ? i said , why not.. thinking i could take on him... he was using spiritbreaker.. he said.. let me show you whats a super killer he quoted.. i couldnt care less rite.. but to my amazement... he killed me in 4 seconds. ' A 4 SECOND KILLER '... i was built.... and he could that 4 second kill ? i thought he was cheating or something... so here i am.. asking anyone here for help... how do you make spirit breaker ... a 4 second killer ?

Depending on your enemy. SnY is good for Bara. Sometimes I include battlefury if we've been pushed for cleaving and slaying creeps all together and for easy money. I always buy lothars/dagger.

ey nice strat, it will do but i think haste and bash should be levelled up first than charge because you need to farm alot in the early game. maybe you could get till level 2 only until you get your items and thats the time you level this up till level 4.
i think if you really want to have a radiance in the slots you should get it late early or at mid game, cause buying radiance at late game is not advisable anymore... i mean usually the main reason sumbody buys a radiance is to help them farm alot and in late game your not farming anymore and that damage you get from radiance in late game is just nothing... you radiance is usually bought first if you really need it but if you cant afford buying radiance in early game then dont buy it anymore. and yah s&y is good for this guy and i prefer BoT rather than treads. you get your plus damage on movement speed not on attack speed. but still a nice strat. 8/10.

1 biggest mistake from this guide i think barathrum is not supposed to buy Hyperstone. With same amount of gold you can prefer Mask of Madness which more deadly in assasinating since you gain movement speed boost also beside atk speed.

And the last its just my preference that I'm not buying buriza or mkb but Sange Yasha. Why? Boost your HP and maim target so this hero is very owning

Its very pointless. He is much better off getting attack speed e.g. hyperstone/butterfly (if its very late game) so he can permanently bash them.

He does not need bashers to keep an enemy stunned, and he has charge/ulti also. There is no need for bashers at all on this hero.

This a really great guide, but i agree with some of the comments, as the SY is an incredible item for Barathrum.I usually do a Vanguard and two bashers for him, maybe a HoT. Anyway,nice strategy,for 1st time.

I've been reading the comments on the Threads VS Bot debate, personnaly, I try to max speed on this guy. I usually get BoT + S&Y + Yasha, that gives you the max speed on any hero. For me the debate isnt on move speed vs attack speed, its about getting anywhere on map ASAP.

I find getting that kick ass speed + the teleport allows you to go finish off heroes anywhere, or rescue allies anywhere. With that build, you can cross the map on a charge in no time, to either get a kill or save ally

Well, nobody post here since a little while, so I will. You should have put a Sange and Yasha, 'cause it would raise your speed, so, your damage with Empowering Haste. You should get 2 or only 1 basher, to increase you stun chances, the MKB's ministun would stop his real stun, it'd be bad, and maybe a vladimir, for lifesteal.....

Battle Fury is good if u want to farm more gold.... nice guide anyway

i really suggest MoM in the early phases in addition to PT.. nothing beats enemies sliding TO and FRO.. very nice to look at..

i would however recommend MoM as your orb of choice (over SnY and Satanic) its cheaper and can get early game, need aspd more than the ms
