Nice strategy I think.
The most hated thing about his ulti is that it cannot kill anything just itself.There are always 2 hp on heros.I wish it could be improved by making the Aghanim's Specter instead of increasing damage.

good guide a lil more indepth on the hero kills. The one and only thing i didnt like about ur guide are the wards. I spam the wards early game beacuse
1. low mana cost
and 2. they are another creep.
they help you push your lane and help your tower survive longer and even kill the enemy tower early game which gives your team a great advantage. 8/10

Don't agree on the item build. Need Lothars or else very easy to kill. Aghamins is for Inte heroes not dmg-dealers better of with MKB/Buriza.

this guide is really great for venomancer beginners. well, you've described it in your introduction and made a good job introducing veno. i'll give a 10/10.

I love Veno, he's so awesome. Note to all, Nova will not kill, it will weaken so the Dagger kills. So many times I've seen a noob with Veno go 'He's dead, I Nova'd him' and then I just wait for them to complain that they lived... Your skill build more or less matches mine, same priorities etc, as with the item build. I find I don't need the Sceptre or Blink Dagger, though - Lothars instead of the Dagger, and the Ult upgrade is only about another 200 damage, getting a Butterfly (more Butterflies is always fun ^^) in that slot is more cost effective. Regen and Treads early, SnY and Butterfly and you're set. You obviously know what you're doing, 9/10.

Just one question, on the farming on early game part, what if your not used to last hiting, what should you do??

Wards are early game or nothing. They don't really help at raxxing because the damage is piercing and nor they are that good in destroying multiple creeps... any ally with AoE does it better. And I'm not a bif fan of S&Y, i use it only on morphling (skadi costs so much to buid in a normal non-em game), and I don't think you need it that much... You have a soul booster already for the HP, which is one of the reasons why the s&y is bought...

Poison Sting2 is a orb effect and does not stack with sange and yasha? If this is the case why level it at all?

If the sting is really an orb effect, the only thing you are cancelling out is the "maim". You already have poison sting...so it doesn't really matter.

My recollection is that maim and poison sting stacks, but oddly, skadi doesn't work. theoretically, 2 similar buff placers in 1 attack, priority on skill.

I dont think Syllabear would be a tough opponent...coz' he wont stand he the poison combo of Veno....hekhek

Lol @ 'stuff a blink dagger', I can generally agree with this one. Umm, everyone, mainly the SnY debate, SnY overrides other orbs on the 10% chance but otherwise its not there. So you get the passive until the maim shows up. Then back to passive. Besides, you don't have SnY at lvl10! (Usually) You need the slow until you get it and after.

Instead of that sange and yasha make a malestrom that makes more sense.

Maelstrom is if you have to farm. SnY is a killer weapon. SnY is awesome...

This guide is very good, you described the ulti/SS combo very well. My skill build is very different: just one skill point Shadow strike, and then max poison attack and stats. You get a VERY meaty veno, and the shadowstrike ulti combo still works with SS at level 1. Oh, and no aghanim. I replace that with MKB or Buriza. But, this is not my guide.

I think the Lothars edge should come before the butterfly! Windwalking is cool. Don't take my word for it though.

i suffered a great sorrow whe i met traxex..you kow why??she can attack my veno with frost arrows, and creeps wouldn't attack her back..but if i want to attack that traxex, her creeps is sttscking me back..so, what's your conclusion bout this problem?

I have a lot of experience playing against a drow ranger with Veno but when that happens i am usually in the lane with my allies(all mid). What i do is try to appear behind her or on the side of her before her creeps arrive and do the SS/Nova combo and because of her low hp there is hardly a need to use my ulti, just SS her by suprise and continue attacking her and as she escapes she would die in the fog.

I think you've missed veno's most important weapon - Lothars. Much more suitable than the dagger. Good guide anyways.

Um i don't agree with the part where u have a bloodstone and a perseverance because when u get bloodstone u need soul booster and perseverance so u would be much better off with a different item

Excellent guide. Venom is a nuker, killer and a dam dealer. However, if the opponent has a Manta Style, he can get away from your ulti immediately. Beware!!!

if you go on the same lane with Ulfsaar in early game, you can force him back to base with poison, owning the lane

now i dont see why you need the blink dagger, a lothars edge would do better. the only reason why i see you get blink dagger is activate lothar's edge, run into the middle of the battle and activate your nova, then blink out, but overall i think its a good item build. 7/10

Nice guide, but I think it worth to mension that Lothars early in game, is a very good option playing games; 1vs1 2vs2 3vs3. You just make the venomancer combo on a hero with 100% hp, then windwalk, let 'em bleed and then track him/her down. =easy kill
Btw, Lothars is all so for ecapeing.

Blink is cheaper and more helpful than lothars all game.

i hate veno specialy when his my opponent...his poison really stink...

@thenoob: Aghanims is to improve ulti... Otherwwise if they increase their Hp, it loses effectiveness, meaning you'll have to fight/chase more before shadowStrike/Poison nova combo...
(remember, ulti cant kill a unit...)

Too bad Venos wards arent SMART like Rhastas wards... Rhatas go for last hits but Venos just attack...

An alternative strat is to max shadowstrike and wards (Or as close as possible to maxing) by Lv7... Go behind, place abt 3-4 lv4 wards and shadowStrike(Use ulti if you have it) your enemy... If he runs back, he'll have to get past your wards... They'll lower his HP and your Ulti/ShadowStrike will finish him... FIRST BLOOD!

venomancer is a good hero but every time my opponent uses veno i always uses linken sphere!. what will i do if my opponent uses linken?

hmmmm, my build is a little different i would perfer a mek instead of the perseverence, it can help you alot because you can run in, ult and then mek, or if your chasing use mek if you get low on health, besides that good guide XD

If your opponent is using linken then let one of your allies cancel it with one of their spells that may be useless/low mana cost/fast cooldown. But if u are playin 1v1 then when in the lane with the opponent cancel it with a shadow strike and when it cools down kill him while his linkens is cooling down. Be sure to have enough mana for 2 SS.

this guide doesnt focus on venomancer's poison damage, i prefer that you activate poison nova immediately before getting in a shadow strike, this is to ensure an instant kill, and you did not mention that poison nova DOES NOT KILL. it only reduces the opponent's hp to 1..

Have tried aghanim's on veno. Works great man. Don't you just love it when you rush in and splash Poison Nova in a 5v5 game....

I really think the spell build is not that good. I would rather prefer Plague Ward for the first skill, and Poison Sting for the second one. After you get lvl 4 on both, (including your ulti) its time for Shadow Strike. Plague Wards helps you a lot on farming, and on getting the tower gold, plus enemies won't come near you, even if they are 2. You can even solo Roshan at level 9 with these skills. I've done it... Just let Roshan hit the Wards.

Venomancer and Bane went down against Razor and Balanar today
I was Bane and tried Steve's Purple
strat of Necrominicon.Didn't work very well
on Balanar but Razor cudn't even stand b4 us.
Duo owned it.Balanar using CFear on Bane regularly and void was often killing even Venomancer.
Any nice suggestion to get Balanar????

The main thing when facing balanar is to try and avoid him as much as possible
in the night(unless u are powerful enough) and seek him out in the day. You can also force him to waste his ulti in the day by targeting him and when he activates it you can blink(kelens) up a hill or just teleport away(scroll) and when darkness goes away go and kill him as much as possible(only target him) so that you will have the upper hand and be able to kill him even in the night.

Be careful if he buys bashers.

i think its better get ward asap, hav a very low mana cost and coldown and helps a lot to farm, push and harras.

with this u can solo a lane without problems.

Worthless guide. you have no idea what you are talking about You have not added -50 seconds cd on nova lvl 4. you say viper is good with veno? but their poisons doestn stack. sange and yasha is buillshit. pt is bullshit. and your starting build is bullsiht. Listen dude, other than ur item-build i used to do da same stuff, but then found out tht i always have too less mana for ss+nova at lvl 6. then i started using even my wards. u can kill ppl without nova if you have ss+sting+ward at lvl6/7.
i'd suggest nova at lvl7/8. item build: treads, dagger, MJLLONIR!!,linken(spell negation is amazing for soloing and 1v1's,2v2's,3v3's). now you've written one AMAZING guide, i've become good enough following this stuff, but i kindly would like to know why not mjllonir? it seems to be working(though it says orb effect).... please do reply

Veno/Viper poison doesn't stack i'm afraid.

As for Aghanims on agility/strength heros (Veno,Luna, Lucifer etc) is a big waste imo. You have a great dps hero, why waste all those money for the mystic staff(accepting that the hp boost from soul booster is always welcome) instead of an eaglehorn? Besides, you re not gonna be smaller than at least level 15-20 by the time you ll have completed aghanims (after SnY in Veno's case) and then your ulti won't be that much of a hurt anyway. Your ultimate is great already, leave it as it is, make him a dps player, use your ulti to ensure your victory. You'll also need 1 null talisman to have enough mp to pull off a nova/strike combo at level 6.

Arcane ring? No no no. Too expensive. You're just fine with 2 talismans mp wise and you get bonus str+agi too. Let the support heros buy arcane rings. You're the team's killer.

Linken's sphere against Slardar and Gondar? When they both have spammable ulties with a puny 50 mp cost? Bad call there. Linken's passive skill is only worth it against Lina imo.

Also Faceless Void isn't "everyone's ally". I'd dare to say he's NOONE'S ally. There are far better heros to disable/immobilise an enemy, without disabling you too by accident and without an 120 sec cooldown. Rhasta and Lion come to mind.

Finally I would prefer leveling wards before stats. They only have a 20 mp cost, they are super spammable, with piercing damage, they ll kill Roshan for you, they ll give you last hits, they ll ensure kills and even help you escape. Great at defending too. Stats on the other hand, are not a must. Not to mention you already have a SnY which is a very nice stat booster.

Maybe try sny (get all lvl one items at once then gradually build up) then travel, butterfly for consistent but strong build throughout game. buy instant re-spawn for more farming, which will quickly get more cash than if you waited. I LOVE KILLIN ROSHAN with this hero, the plague wards are perfect skill for distraction at lvl 12. Btw my skill build : ward strike ward strike etc poison nova when possible...i never really care if he dies i instant regen then back to farming...worth the time and money

BoT+ SS can ensure u a kill even without activating ulti...all it needs is gd timing.

Btw, I'm too lazy to even formulate item builds, I just go 2 butterfly+ BoT and it's GG.[Just make sure 1st Bfly is completed within 25min range]

Nice strategy to get someone started, however, as pointed out correctly by desapher, u may want to make some adjustments to it.

The items you mentioned to get at mid-game, i'd say it's gg already if someone has got them at mid game. What i mean is for mid game, these items seem a bit too expensive? Sometimes you just have leavers/nubs on your team (which happens almost 1/2 pub games) so need to consider that too.

But oh well, i'm still trying the Ward Spam before level 6, i remember how i got 2800 gold doing that once without trying to do last hit on creeps, i think the Ward Spam is better for beginners on this hero.

LOL! this must be the most noobish guide ever!! maxing out shadow strike at lvl 7 is just sad, this skill has one purpose, slowing opponents, the dmg from this skill is harmless. Furthermore, Scepter on Veno is such a waste of money, your ulti dmg improves with 27 dmg, but in late game (when u can afford this item) the 27 extra dmg points will be reduced heavily by other heros high armor.... NOOOOOB!

i think they changed the sting to 7 seconds poison lol 140 dmg a shot+regular damage

Just one thing...... mix up the wards. Since your guide focuses on mainly hero killing..... you forgot to tell them how to farm. Farm with the wards. I dont get the poison. Wards are better. Example you do 40 damage in 2 secs with poison sting. At the cost of only 60 mp you could summon 3 wards in 15 secs to easily do last hits and still get the gold.But i'd go with sting if there are 2 heros or more in lane. Anyways nice strat. 9/10.

I am no pro, but i found my favorite build is PW PS PW SS PW PN PS PW & so on, great for getting last hit. Items: i like (Courier)Boots, Perseverence then Loathors(veno's best friend), upgrade boots, Sange(no Yasha), Butterfly, Buz, Hyper. Thanks for all the tips, they helped lots. I get alot of assist & some kills too now.

Personally i prefer imba push with the Wards in start plus the auto Sting...and when i get around 7-8 i start taking the Shadow Strike, but good guide if thats the way you wanna go

i have a question, why cant poison nova kill anyone? since at max level it is 81dmg x 12s = 972 dmg?? it is nearly like doom without the silence right???
