You don't have any mana at early game when using Voodoo.. mana drain and impale first.. and i think you should not buy RoR on int heroes as your first item and BoT is much useful that powertreads and yes Refresher is not that useful and also Butterfly.. try buying Euls/Guinsoo, Linken sphere and EoS... anyways nice try.. 6/10

This strat lacks some info....

Treads should not be taken. You are not using your auto attack that much. BoT teleport and MS will help you to give you mobility.
Attackspeed doesn't really help in last hitting.
Voodoo rank 1 is next to useless that
early. 110 mana for a 1 sec disable.
If you are going to harass with mana drain, take atleast rank 2, it's much better like that.
Butterfly just sucks for lion. You should not be using your auto-attack that much.
Voodoo'd targets have no magic resistance. Use your finger when you have it on him.
But.... it's your guide, your way.

OMG butterfly? and treads? lion has no skill neither the stats to become a battle type. early-mid game = lion rocks. late game = lion disables, and should not be a DPS hero.

Erm, juz 1 thing... range creeps have 200 mana points. Dont learn ur mana drain above lv3, u'll be draining 150mana at this skill. The extra skill points should go to other skills or stats ya, cuz hard to lv up at higher lvs.
Erm, anyways, its an ok strat. And btw i dun understand how u can spam ur stun and voodoo twice in an encounter? Even with guinsoo, ur skills will still be in cd. I dun think any hero would allow u to get spam...hahah, there's that 3 secs of spare time for the enemies (considering u do lv4 impale, lv4 voodoo, guinsoo hex--> 2 + 4 + 3 = 9s) 3secs more b4 impale again...hahas, juz saying

Treads for BoT, Butterfly for Assault Cuirass. I don't agree with getting all three skills early, max two asap for nearly everyone, especially nukers/disablers (cough, Lion?).
Lothars works fine as long as you can make it work.
Doom is ALWAYS a pain.
Guide... well, I don't use Lion much so I can't tell. Probably a 7-8/10. More comments.

I think not just doombringer but anyone with a silence skill can kill this guy... I think BOT is more effective than treads...

Your strategy is mostly ok, but the items need a serious reworking. Why in the world would you get Treads and Butterfly on Lion? You should be going support with Euls/Guinsoos as a main and not an optional item. Necronomicon is also not a bad idea. You should try out more items and see how they work with Lion.

getting voodoo is such a bad idea IMO Your mana is not suffice enough for voodoo much better if you get this late. Or you may get this early but not use it at all. I pref Empale stats. Item build i pref Trvels for mobility. refresher u using to much mana. Needs more info.

Power treads, refresher orb, and butterfly is too much and not advisable for Lion. Try forming Guinso for mana and additional hex or/then Dagon for additional damage. Then go for the Aghanim's scepter for more damage. Then upgrade to boots of travel. Mana drain should not be learned since it becomes completely useless starting midgame, so just go with voidstone for mana til Guinso.

I rate at 5/10

If i play in 5 on 5 in early games i buy dagon immediately
If u try killing a hero its makes sure that u got a sure kill with dagon.
And can be a good KS if its ok

lion's FoD is not that strong...when ur enemy got 2 hoods... that's a 60% damage reduction and much like 500 + damage with aganims...but nice start.

2 hoods of defiance dont stack. only the regen does. natural hero spell reduction, which is 25%, adds with HoD's spell reduction but it stacks diminishingly. 47.5% is the total spell reduction you can have w/ HoD.

rushing dagon is a NO NO. that leaves you with no HP items. that means you are food early game. if you try to rush dagon, get at least level 2 voodoo, if there are more than 1 enemy chasing you, you can consider yourself dead..

My God, Oh well here's what I say about your skill build.

Mana Drain isn't only bad it's horrible, stats will help you much more than mana drain.

Rushing treads is a bad idea on any hero, you need mana and hp early not attack speed.

Agnahims is a poor choice, it only lowers it's cooldown by 5 seconds and it gives a measly 200 damage bonus, get a dagon if you want more nuking power.

Refreasher is only good if you are planning on wasting all your mana to deal 2k worth of damage on 1 hero. After that you'll be left with 0 mana and will be useless for the rest of the battle.

Hmmm, Aghamim sceptor, do u think its a must for him?
It increases the dmg from 850->1050. Compared to lina's ulti 1250 with sceptor, i dun think that 200 dmg diff is compensated with 5sec decrease cd...lolx
Well, getting aghamim increases ur hp and mana... blah blah blah...early game, rather getting a point booster. Y not staff of wizardary. Den instead of getting pointless mana and hp, get sword of atk and bracers man!
I believe that getting aghamim scep is a waste of money (wrt to all pro-aghamim ppl), especially on lion, its veri wasted. According to the build, it is like only gotten at end of mid game--> every1 is like lv 16 le... using the stun, hex and ulti combo oni averagely reduces opp hp by like 2/5, after acounting the magic dmg reduction and noobness of both players... Whereas dagon can be gotten a the end of early game, its additional 400dmg is much beta den the increase in 200dmg the sceptor gives... u guys follow? And u can like "split" the dmg, like dagon 1 and finger the other. Gives more dmg management to lion.

Nice strat. as an ally, rahsta is a good teamate. immagine at mid gmae, both of you have voodoo and quinsoo, THAT IS 16 SECONDS of NON STOP critter. I tried your strat with my friend. 2 v 4, it was chaos.

Power Treads on Lion is not a very good idea..BoT would be better for a mage like Lion who relies more on his skills for damage..Lion isnt a DPS hero.

This strat isn't anything special, and treads are of no use to Lion. IMO Lion is more of a support/disabler late game, even with refresher he could be chewed up in large scale team battles. 6/10

I disagree with how you say don't kill steal, because heroes like lion rely on the items they get. I say Killsteal Killsteal Killsteal!

scepter is a no-no
refresher is a seriously bad choice
guinsoo is a MUST
heart is almost a must
butterfly is a big JOKE
and so is treads

my advice is that you should never rely on spells as an end game option since
1. you mostly have single target spells, so best case scenario for you is to kill one hero(RARELY HAPPENS END GAME)
2. lion's true power lies in his disables. so to maximize his power means adding more disables, hence euls and guinsoo.
3. also, with more disables, you can let your teammates do BIG TIME damage to enemies.

that's all.

an okay guide 6/10 as well. i once tried to use lion a differetn way to normal adn that was to get close to an enemy hero 1v1 voodoo and mana drain him as much as possible early on. This was 1v1 versus tiny and he got really pissed of cause even though he didn't lose much health he always wsas running out of mana and so had no spells whilst i always had mana so he couldn't beat me, when you next play if ur good at lcikcing heaps and are against a nuker/disabler try it and they will get real pissed off cause they have no mana. lol

you wont get that many hits all the time

This was an Ok guide, not bad for a first time. I think that you should switch treads for travels, as people have suggested. I also only see you needing butterfly in a 1v1 match, when you have to be a somewhat battle type. All in all, not a bad guide 7/10.

1.why butterfly?you have 2 nukes! that'll be all you will ever need.evasion?just get hp+ items...
2. why mana drain? get stats
3. no guinsoo? think voodoo is enough dont ya?why not try fightning in a team game for once...
4.refresher?aghanims?again, play a team game...
5.any idea how much your item build costs?why not check.
6.if i was your opponent then i wouldve gone BKB and owned you...put that in your mouth and chew it...

ow... i think there's a better strat wen playing this hero... you said mana drain must not be use to a hero, right there is already wrong, you might think twice in using it on range hero but with a melee you'll burn up alot of their mana.. and this would really hurt a melee hero especially leoric... mana drain has quite a long range for that matter and just 10 mana cost you could really spam it, even if it will only last a second you still get +5 mana at level one of this...

refresher orb on this hero for me is unnecessary. first of all refresh cost a lot of mana and secondly your ulti,s coold down at level 3 wont even take a minute... try another item. i suggest an escape item you're comfortable with

Nice advise though im a different lion player, I usually dont use voodoo but rather sticks on mana (mana drain) for more kill.. I also discovered that a lion with crystalys is a good basher in the face..

Not really usefull guide as i can see it. vodoo on lower lvls suck. Dont use mana drain on heroes? its the perfect harrasing spell as most heroes have mana problems in early/midgame. Butterfly? Treads? It's a big nono. Guinsoo is probably the core item for any lion build... Apart from that... ok strat...

4 attribute bonus juz for mana drain?
Early game his max hp is soooo small!
Yet he needs more maximum mana to cast the skills.
And u can only use the mana drain when there's no enemy in ur lane!
And whats wif the butterfly n the refresher?
Cmon, he isnt a battle nor agi hero.Yet his finger's cooldown is pretty fast that u wont need it. Also it costs so much mana to cast 2x fingers and refresher at a time.

First you might now have enough mana to cast your ulti twice. See 325 from refresher orb, 650+650=1300+325=1625 that's alot of mana and plus your voodoo another 200 and impale about 120. that's around 1945 mana use . So i usually would get guinsoo, scepter, BOT, dagon. that it then game ends.

Ring regen, boots, then goes soul booster, then dagon 1, finish aggys, up dagon to 3, refresher, then squeez in dagon 5 with a bloodstone, ultimate tankge plus killer spell with refresher thats like 5k damage only every ablity used once. so best reguards

A good nuke in the middle of the game would be: impale, dagon then finger of death. use mana drain on ranged creeps to restore mana for this nuke.

Not much need for refresher actually... A dagon is alot better than a refresher in terms of mp usage. Another thing, I dunno how you lost to rhasta? Your disabling skills are one of the best. If not, the best. The only one who you'll lose to is either doombringer or anti mage. Anyway, like I said, try coming up with something new for lion.

BoT, 2 platemails(upgrade 2 shiva, or ac, although lion is no good ac-carrier..? :0), DoE(NINJA FTW), Dagon and scepter. Heart, HoD, aegis(ofc) and EUL/GUINSOO

you will hate to use him in late game..i played a 5v5..where the opponent have earthshaker,gondar,yurnero,rikimaru.. i when they come i am the first to be dead..earthshaker stuns.. i know dead is near.. i run when gondar yurnero chases me they caught up when i want to impale..i was silenced by riki.. i ran out of the smoke.. only saw yurnero jumping here n there n iam dead..accept it he is weak late game..but he decides the game in 5v5 as he absolutely owns in early stages..but after that.boohoo

Bad try.. Although you admitted you'r a n00b.. , please learn to use the hero before you post smthing like this. lvl 1 voodoo is a waste of mana.. You cast it and its over, Mana drain + impale r fine, Mana Draining heros close is pretty good especially if theyre mana dependant like ES or Tiny. Later its pretty much battle mage.. No Refresher or Dagon < - 2 of the sukkyest items on Lion. Youd be better off with a MKB n Crit.

i dont know why i keep reading but ultimate with scepter deals 1025 damage . also mana drain is improved and rocks gainst heroes.

instead of getting bfly, why not make dagon 5? so u can stun, hit hit voodoo, hit hit dagon finger. surely even str type heroes will collapse with his power!
