Umm lol? Ok I have a couple of this to say about you guide first things first I'm surprised that you said to get boots as a first item, Storm bolt should be a good enough gank at level 1. Aura's early game is a no no since it pushes the creeps towards the enemy tower making last hitting harder for your part(Storm bolt + stats is the way to go). I'm stunned to hear that you included items such as butterfly and Refresher into your build. Butterfly is = too much attackspeed without any damage, Refresher = no mana for stormbolts which is very necessary to help your team, and Hp is always better than armour since it protects you from nukes and physical damage alike. I'm in a good mood today so I'm giving you a chance to improve before I rate your guide.♥

He didn't get the butterfly for damage, he mainly got it for the 30% evasion. 30% evasion owns but it's fairly expensive. I would personally go with the first build and throw in a hood just to have an all around great defense.

Well I assumed that since buttefly is the best item to get if you want attack-speed. I suggest Radiance, it'll help your team more.

refresher is a no no cause you will need mana for your storm bolt. i think it will be better if your skill build will be stormbolt,stat,stormbolt, or stormbolt,critical,stormbolt. Life steal aura is not very efficient early game cause you still have low damage. i suggest buy first regen item rather than choosing lifesteal aura very early.

for the first build i would lose the plate and get a hood, EoS, and vanguard

I like the fact that you used the assult cuirass, but i wouldn't use the extra plate, it could be replaced by a better damage item such as MKB so that way you can increase attack speed as well. also in the build order for your items you don't say when u get the HoT, that really can be situational, but you didn't even include it in the items list. Boo to that. I like how you kept it realistic in the item build, but also you should have included radiance for a tanking build.
Overall i give it a 7/10

ummmm i prefer vlads to satanic its good and easier and if u want reduction use hood of Cunning and Blademail is great on SK arcane ring is a must 4 his low mana and instant reinc. Assult is ok but it goes really well with SK 's criticals and lifesteals get Divine and an aegis from Roshan (i think i posted this on the actual hero before hmm) Divine gives +250 damage with Sk critical thats like almost 750 damage and with vlads 36% lifesteal thats about 200 damage gained back with Vampiric aura and with a 15% chance to hit this happens once every 6 atks and quicker w/ atkspeed items and u have aegos and ur normal reinc. to protect it o.O wow thts gonna hurrrrrrt!

skill build:
first, i advice not to get level 2 reincarnation until level 15 or when you've used it up. sk has a reaally low mana pool and you cant afford the increased mana cost. by level 11, sk has 377 mana without any items or points in stats. with this mana pool you can do one bolt and have enough for a level2 ulti (290 mana total, 87 mana left). however, with only one level of ulti, you can do 2 bolts (380 mana but it will only take less than 5 seconds to regen 3 mana).
also, if your not dying, why would you decrease the cooldown of the spell?

vampiric aura is good to have early game. being a melee hero, sk will be harassed so the lifesteal will help. about creeps pushing: not really. creeps have low damage so they would be healing about 1 hp per hit.

item build:

i like the assault cuirass. sk needs evry part of it. however, i dont like the idea of getting this as your first item. mid game, nukes still dominate physical attacks so increasing your armor wont really help in tanking. i suggest getting +hp items first or a defiance if there are lots of nukers. also i think another platemail is an overkill. with the armor from cuirass, adding more hp will increase your EHP more than adding armor.

how about arcane ring? a friend told me its good for sk, i tried it and the results are wonderful. you can now "spam" bolt without fear of having not enough mana for ulti.

how about radiance? sk is a tank, so he will stay in battle longer, more time to burn enemies with immolation. also, with the +dmg from radiance, crit will be deadly.

how about sny? sange is a cheap source of hp and damage, yasha helps in procuring more crits.also, sk has average ms so the +ms from sny will really help in chasing. the maim is not that great but still good to have.

like what the other posters said, refresher is a no no. chances are you'll end up getting killed three times in a row instead of two.

That's only good provided that you auto attack which will lead you to getting denied. Stats are a better option. The problem with this guide is that he focuses too much on survivability to the point it's overkill. Arcane and clarities are so so item on Leoric but it doesn't help as much as a bottle. Leoric helps his team by doing life risking Ganks that no other hero would normally risk himself to do. Bottle does that since you can heal fast and pick up a rune every time you switch lanes to gank. Personally I find every opportunity to suicide (while doing something productive like killing a tower) whenever Resurrection is cooleddown so I can resume ganking and farming with full hp.

sorry, this is noobish, but how do you attain lumber points, if someone wants to lifesteal, you need initially one lumber. Dont really understand how you get this. :S

Well... not good tlaga itong guide ah.. What about Radiance? Sange and Yasha? and how about bringing Clarity Potions in the starting game? Ring of Basilius is also needed since you need mana all the time for your stormbolt and in order for you to revive - Reincarnation needs mana right? so you know what I mean... then later Ring of Basilius can be made to Vladimir's Offering which grants you more life steal not only to you but to your allies, Naix would be a wonderful ally.. and the rest it's up to the person's strategy... it's up for then to discover... Assault Cuirass is also good.. but your items arre locking... thanks

Solid SK build

travel, cuirass, skadi and heart and bf as key items

possible 6th slot: hood of defiance, another heart, another bf, blademail, gem, divine :)

Play Skeleton King like Sven, easy. Get attack and movement speed and/or a slow, and pulverise them with huge lifesteal and crits. Regen is essential I find. Crits/Lifesteal/Stats early game is always debatable, I prefer the lifesteal because it gives you more survivability... max Storm Bolt asap. Always. 1/3/5/7 or else (I will have to eat you). Item build I don't like. AC? I'm sorry... Damage items and tank items and Mask of Madness/SnY or something.

This guide was going well until I got to the item build. Then it died.

"Skeleton King is an amazing tank, STUNNER, and HERO KILLER" because Storm Bolt is "your hero ganking/killng skill" because it has an 8s cd meaning you can use it more than once in a gank. Well you WOULD be able to if you got clarities, circlets/nulls, Empty Bottle, Arcane Ring, RoB (to a lesser extent). Unfortunately you don't and that's why you can't spam Storm Bolt and can't kill a low health enemy by yourself (It's EASY to kill a low health enemy by yourself, you just have to have MORE THAN ONE storm bolt). That's pretty much most of what's wrong with this guide. I dunno, maybe you're just one of those people that buy two boots cos he's got two feet right? So once SK's thrown his hammer he can't throw another one right? Cos DUH! HE JUST THREW HIS ONLY HAMMER!

And very finally my apologies to those who do not understand my twisted sense of sarcasm and irony. DotA is just a game and I myself have not bothered to get off my lazy butt and write a guide so kudos to ProShowEnt for doing so. This doesn't stop this guide from being the second worst SK guide I've ever seen, but I do hope people can read my comments in a humorous light and have a laugh.

Just realised my comment on the Refresher was so oblique as to be ambiguous. I was inferring that in a build like this, the Refresher would have a purely decorative role.

I suggest gettin vampiric offerings. As vampirics aura is not an orb effect, the lifesteal from the offering will STACK I REPEAT IT WILL STACK WITH VAMPRIC AURA !!! which is imba during late game especially if you have heros in your team like phantom assasin and rk they can save their cash on santanic or MoM lolz. I totally agree with the assualt cuirass and sk needs all of it. I would rather it as a second or third iteam maybe u can get sny bfore it . heres my build: ^^

what SK needs isnt damage..the top priority is to be a tanker and therefore, you should get items that increases HP. Refresher Orb is definitely a bad item for SK because you will not have MP problems..SK isnt really a team hero so the least you could do is be a good tanker..the core build for SK should be Power Treads, HoT, 2 Nulls Talisman, MKB and maybe Radiance..

2 Hearts - Self Explanatory

If you Got Satanic I Would Suggest Activating It Before Going for a Kill To Easily Tank All Those Tower Hits By Getting HP From About 3-5 Heroes .

Battlefury = It Might Be Possible for a 1 on 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 With this But Only Go For 1 on 5 If :
They Are Agi / Int Heroes , If You Got Satanic.
Overall A Poor Guide That Needs To Be Updated
I Suggest Reading A Lot of Comments Such As : Transfat's Or Fwii~'s

As for the Skill Build : Disagree , ALOT

....wow, the normal problem with most people is indeed the early game skill build, but generally the trouble is which to choose : Crit or Vamp.

You could... buy a mask of death, max out storm bolt and crit, then reincarnation of course @6,11,16 then max out vamp after storm bolt and crit. Then get stats afterwards.

The only point in getting stats early, is if you're a complete noob and you cannot stop yourself from auto-attacking by hitting the "H" key and or just sitting and taking damage from an enemy while not attacking him....

Only auto attack noobs learn Vamp and Crit early so they can auto attack to take full advantage of it. Seriously what's the use of Vamp aura if you last hit?

Ok, I'm gonna give this guy a break.

ProShowEnt, kudos, this guide was a good read, and I totally agree with most of the logic in the guide. As a guide on how to play the game, it more or less hits on the spots that anyone can learn to improve their DOTA game with any character.

But, it looks like most people have hit the weakness of this guide right on the dot - ITEMS specific to SK. Early game, you need Bracers to throw more hammers, or Clarity potions like someone else mentioned.

Assault is great, but you need damage to go with it, and Butterfly or HoT simply doesn't provide enough. Now a MKB...perfect.

As it stands, 6/10, will wait to rate to see change in item build.

ROFL @ kAEm comment 22. Two things that severely own SK (specifically, not counting someone who always owns or got fed): Antimage and Silencer. MANABURN. CURSE OF THE SILENT. You start, unless you got Nulls/Null bits, with less than 200 mana. Manaburn will thrash you, and Curse will either make you waste your stun, OR make you lose all of your mana and make it IMPOSSIBLE to stun.
I completely agree with silent_yet_deadly, stack a bunch of tanker-killer items (including at least two HoT/Satanic - not two satanic obviously, two hearts or one of each or two hearts and satanic... or more. ooo more, more is good...)

actually mana burners are a good counter but the thing is thats only going to work in early game cause if skeleton king have eye of skadi and a refreaher orb he have enogh mana to beat magina silencer any mana burners and maginas life is so low and the huge life of sk its pretty hard for a low life character to beat him

Battlefury is another bad item on Leoric, I would have gave him a lower score if he placed it in there.

I think Assault Cuirass is the last item you'll get on one Hero. Assault Cuirass could not be a core item for a Hero like SK.

Make ur Assualt Cuirras 3 or 4th item
and wh getting another plate mail if u have already cuirras tanker?change to defiance becuase if the use maginc ur armor wont reduct the magic spells try getting hood of cunning and try getting Monkey King Bar its will boost ur damge, ASP,more life steal.

And dont get refresher orb becuase it takes a great mana to refresh cooldowning skills 387 mana I think

I disagree with the items man. Needs improvement. No damage items, it seems you are a defensive type of player. SK has plenty of life mid to late so dont have to worry for nukers and gank.

I think its a good strategy, it is intended for 5 v 5 clan wars so its an support build (no damage item).

I also like the idea making assault currias the main item, its very creative.

i think battlefury is a popular choice for critters because of the idea of splash-crit. however, one on one, you wont need to spash crit. in teams battles, you pick any 100-radius circle, you'll only find at most two heroes inside. what im saying is that, the splash crit really deals a buttload of damage, however, in teams battles, heroes are scattered so your splashed crits will hit nothing.

therefore, battlefury is a bad item for leoric. please stop recommending this item. radiance is soo much better.

I agree that stats are the better option since it gives you mana, hp, (survivability and for storm bolt reasons), and damage (which helps in deny and farm. But I also see Capwn33 point of view. Crit actually can help in last hitting as many times i find myself hitting a creep and if i didnt have crit it would have a sliver of health left and my other creep would destroy it but with crit it does tend to make it a lil bit easier. it also gives you another powerful harrassing tool early game. This makes you less reliant on Storm Bolt (assuming you go for treads) and more balanced with critical strike. Crit can do a lot of damage in all stages of the game. Even early game where Leoric's base damage is not that impressive, but at the same time your enemy's hp is also relatively low.

Being reliant on storm bolt isn't a bad thing since Leoric should have a lane partner.

lets see, skeliton's king Mana Pool is SO LOW, by reincarnating + refresher orb = no more mana to reincarnate, if you want to add refresher orb, get an arcane's ring, you will need it

At the start of the game, with that 500 odd gold, what do u think is the best inventory to get? Clarity, aiming for nulls, void/perseverence, arcane for mana? Hmmm, come to think of it, RoB sounds gd for 1st item since its effect is imba to its price. Then afterwards i guess arcane and vald would follow, obviously vald would be like in a later part
I seriously think tt SK has the potential to be a SUPER pusher with arcane (due to RoB and for recarination), vald, bf, BOT/threads with 2 tp scrolls. It juz bring the house down, i mean towers.

Refresher on SK? Hmm... that basically increases his hp by 50% and some more mana for bolting (assuming you have enough for reincarnation after refreshing =.=;;)

About the mana pool being low i just get an arcane ring like any other person with low mana and a big stun.

when i was just beginning to play dota, sk was one of my favorites, i mean who wouldnt like his ulti and if i can still remember, you dont need mana for your reincarnation before in earlier versions.
but anyways, i think its better if you put in stats first in early game, like bolts den stats, critical strike and aura wont do much in the early game, plus stats will help you boost your insufficient mana pool. and usually if i could afford it, i go for radiance early to help me farm, plus it gives you increase dps,ias and evasion. and after that its either skadi or tarrasque. skadi is good for this guy because it compensates sk weaknesses, the low mana pool and the slow attack speed. and after that ac will do the icing. i rate you 7/10

Hi guys. Ten minutes ago i played Leoric so i decided to check what some people wear with him and compare it with my build. What do i see here is not much similiar to mine. First i want to say mi score was 12:3 and there were no feeders or lame players anyway. This may realy distort a finnaly result of playing and then it may looks great strategy though there were many feeders or good players beside you. So lets focus on my strategy. I simply purchased ring of bassilus and null talisman to have some mana. Its not bad early game when you can use 3 bolts in a line ;) Then i bought power treads and helm of domination. This does quite good tank of Skeleton cause his good lifesteal and some armor from bassilus and helmet. Now becames a part of kiling and saving gold to radiance. Radiance is realy needed for him i thing especially in this build cause you are slow moving and when you chase an enemy and frequently stun him an effect of radiance realy helps you. You also can use SaY to being faster (its realy good strategy too,but i prefer being stronger in draining and dmg ). The next thing you should purchase after this is cuirass! I thing realy great item almost for all heroes,especially for strong type. This is the main part (this build i had when game become over) so then you may use what you like. A hero hits you and has an attack damage of 100 damage. If you have no damage reduction he will hit you for 100 damage. If you have 66% damage reduction he will hit you for approx 33 damage.
100-66=34 not 33 you ...

One of the most unrealistic and non-needed built I've seen on a skeleton king. Butterfly=/= damage. Refresher Orb= Mana drained. I would recommend bashers or EOS and Vladmirs offering.

Why Vampiric auro on first skill? Stormbolt+Stats+Stormbolt+Stats+Stormbolt+Stats+Stormbolt and so on :) U can spamm stormbolt early and get more kills

hm firs i play skeleton quite often and he is one of my favorite heroes and i don't agree with u in skill built and item built, i mean vampiric aura as first.......no way u should get it mid game when u max out crit and stun.....when we talk about items i mean buterlfly..wtf?? why will he need it i say in most games with him u just buy satanic and hyperstone and u will have 45% lifesteal and that's siiiiiic with your crit omg and eith it u get dmg, hp an lifesteal all that this hero needs....

well, i tried SK for couple of days and found that Storm Bolt in the early game is useless as it's damage is 100 and lasts for 2 seconds !

i had focused on both Vampiric Aura and Critical Strike early game development, and with a boot of speed and ring of regeneration . . . early game was so smooth.

still experimenting this hero . . .

evasions dont stuck (except void of course) but buriza I'm quite sure that it does stack with your Critical Strike Skil.

petaloudas criticals dont stack u have your critical and buriza critical and they will do just fine but if they trigger in one same attack u wont get two criticals but just buriza one so if hero has critical dont ever buy buriza

This is an ultra conservative build. Not to mention, a little naive since I haven't seen a single player (noob or not) hang around for you to reincarnate. On the contrary, if you've been ganked to the point you need reincarnation once, you're probably as good as dead anyway as they will be like vultures picking off dead flesh.

Buff either his damage or attack speed (or both if you can afford it). SK as anything less than a KILLING TANK is a serious waste. Not to mention he's incredibly easy to play with only one hot-key, that it almost gets boring at times.

dude consider battle fury with HoT for hp and farming purposes with assault cuirass...

vangaurd will work giiving SK +250 health,+4 regen, 30 damage blocked so this will make upset, also if you want SK to spam stun make the bottle costing 600 it will give him health+mana. this will make him invincible and do not forget to add radince it will make the opponet to not get near Sk especially those with invisibility or windwalk

I think after treads GO STRAIGHT TO BF, BF is good for farming cause of his critts and MANA REGEN this is crucial to ensure that he still has mana for Reincarnation incase he gets GANKED !

this build is uber.. ive tried it 3 times and been overpowerd everytime.. even tho it might get hard to follow the guide on 5on5 cuss ure money goes slow up. I rly liked it 9/10
