Why not get eye of skadi!?!? The reason I’ve opted for an Eye of Skadi is that it boosts HP/Mana/and Attack speed, complementing Thunderkeg's all-rounded stats pretty well, while giving you a slowing orb effect that goes really well with your crazy attack speed and Overload, to keep at least one hero out of commission. sry but i wasn't very satisfied with your guide

Skadi IS NOT an orb effect for range.... but again, i never get it with him. And remember to ADD DAGON, why? Simple, Raijin is like silencer, he has NO finisher whatsoever and need it for early-game mid-game and beginning late-game.

to win you need : power threads, skadi, assauult cuirass, Mjolnir, HoT, any dmg item like Desolator to stack with cuirass to down -11 armor O.o

This guide really needs work, (as every1 said already). Skadi is made for this hero and it will stack with the mojjolnir but its a good start 4 one the new heroes.

Hi, congrats on writing a guide out (its not easy) especially since its your first guide and this is a new hero.

here are a few comments i haev for your guide :

1) i like the way you presented it (seems rather similiar to my OD guide ) , clear and the reader can browse through it without getting eyes bleed

2) lack of hp
Although his str gain per level is pretty cool, his below-average-base-hp just makes him a open target for ganks and mass-fire . u need bracers (altho in ur guide u said he doesnt need them) - in my opinion

3) lack of mana regen
I dont know if you have tried this build out yourself for at least 15 straight games, but from my own tests of a couple of games, this hero needs mana regen to maintain his 15 mana/sec demand and barrier + ulti. thats not just theory craft btw - couple of ppl commented and also my own tests.

And you pretty much listed out how to play him going the IAS way (which btw he has no lack of) .

Just a note, there are other ways to play him

Strictly just talking about IAS for this guy (as ur guide guides) , its cool . just a few issues i thought could be improved.

I think that you need to reaserch about items before you say no to them....skadi ranged is not an orb effect so ti will stack.....

man,, you dont have hp boosting items such as regen!! you must consider that items in 5vs5 game bcoz u wil be the "apple of the eye" of your foes since you have small amount of hp!! and as they told.. Frost attack effect in EoS is NOT an orb effect for range heroes.. 5/10

scadi only orb's in melee character and not in range, try mixing scadi and mjolnir its my favorite: a slow and a 200 damage lighting effect with a static charge buffs + the bonus stats from each item. whooooo!!! what can i say, an expensive but wonderful item combination one of the best!!

I believe getting Guinsoo is very important. Guinsoo + EOS = 300% Mana Regen. You wouldn't even to turn of Electric Rave anymore and the +25 int will add to your damage.

Dont get HoM , thats what his first skill is for and his 3rd skill farms so u dont need the transmute

HoM it depends on the person. Likewise with Treads vs BoT. AND likewise with the chosen Orb effect. But Mjollnir, Skadi, Guinsoo, and Deso all work very well. Storm is like Dazzle - high stat gains and very versatile. Issues to address are definitely Mana Regen and a disable or finisher of some sort, and possibly damage.

In terms of THIS guide. The above build probably works fine, but you've said things based on your own opinions without considering everything.

Specifically, Mjollnir 'is the best orb effect for this guy' - its not even your third core item, and its not specificly used to pulverise people.

And also, your allies and enemies - you've only said the ones that YOU specifically think are the most helpful or dangerous to you for ANYONE in ANY situation. Ursa and Sven - you'll only die if you're stupid enough to sit there and let them kill you; Storm has high base movespeed, he can probably outrun Ursa with Boots in early game with no Boots (that is, to live - Ursa will get some hits off) and definitely Sven. If YOU have Boots early, they'll be hard-pressed to catch you. Not overly dangerous. A nasty disabler will be more trouble, especially in early game.

In terms of ALLIES. Consider the things you can do with Grapple: Everyones in one spot. What do you use then, when all your ENEMIES are in one spot? AOE of course. So your allies should include a bunch of AOE people for a start - Sand King, Magnus, Leshrac, the usual suspects (examples only, lots more). Back to your faves - they are ones good for chasing. There are OTHERS good for chasing and dishing out more damage - Ogre Magi's Bloodlust, Magnus' Empower, Vengeful and Drow and Luna's auras.

And you have done nothing to describe the things you can use Barrier for in terms of support - you could team with Sand King or someone, cast Barrier on him and let him combo someone without taking spell damage. Nearly BKB for him. Not counting the already-described Grapple + AOE.

All in all, theres a bunch you've left out but what you have is pretty good. I'm going to rate after a response or more comments.

@ ALL = Raijin appears to be quite flexible in terms of items, none of your own 'pro builds' are the ONLY build, but maybe deserve a mention at least. All this 'THIS GUY NEEDS THIS ITEM OR YOUR GUIDE SUCKS' stuff is nearly as bad as flaming. Ok I know nobody said that; all the things along the same lines are nearly as bad as flaming, then.

Note, I can not play Raijin for sh!t but I can still comment.

Sheesh. Little Raijin probably has no need for Radiance, he needs Guinsoo so much not just for the int bonuses, but for the hex.

He has no nuke of his own, and only a Guinsoo will suffice to give him a hex.

Skadi and Mjollnir does stack only if you're ranged, but I don't prefer giving him a Mjollnir for some good reasons...

Why dagon? Do you get dagon to KS? Because I dont like to kS.... and the 3000 gold would be much better spent on Maelstrom...

+ THIS HERO DOES NOT NEED DAGON!!! leave that to the nukers... you need high DPS, thats why i recommend radiance and Butterfly...

Couple comments:

1) Why Ring of Basilius early? It gives less mana regen than a sobi mask at level 5 for you. Most INT heroes don't even expend most of their mana until level 5 anyway, and this guy is no different.

2) Why get Rave early? Do you use Rave at level 7-10? The way I see it, levels 7-11 are completely dominated by heroes with nuke combos (earthshaker, nerubian assassin, lina, lion, tinker, etc). Going up against them with a measly 80% IAS skill and a very slight dmg boost seems crazy, they can take you down alot quicker. With Barrier you could either survive their gank with ease, or give it to an ally so they can fight w/o fear of getting nuked (i.e. barrier on pudge and he can rot without taking damage). Barrier can also be used to save allies with low HP from being nuked as they flee, can absorb doom, epicenter, etc. I'd have to say barrier can be a lot more useful early game than electric rave...

3) Mjollnir and bfly are both dmg/ias items, so your build consists of 60% (bfly) + 35% (mjollnir) + 55% (hyperstone) + 80% (electric rave) + 30-50% (base agi) = ~270% IAS! Keeping a balance of IAS and dmg is important, so you may consider getting a buriza/mkb/deso instead of mjollnir. I love mjollnir but its a very very expensive item for little dmg on non-agi due to its 35 agi bonus.

4) Totally agree on the bracer/null/wraith issue, this hero definately does not need earlygame boosts to stats.

5) The truth about overload: At first glance it seems like a cool ability, but mathematically it isn't really that cool! Early game its great to harass with (fire 4 shots at creeps, 5th at hero for bonus dmg, etc), but late game its only good for the purge. The Math: Every 5 attacks yields +75 damage, so thus every attack averages only +15 dmg. Level 4 overload is (damage wise) between the level 1 and 2 ability of searing arrows/soul assumption. This definately does not conclude that maxing IAS is a top priority for the hero. Damage is, because he has IAS already.

Skadi is not an orb for ranged. I would def. get skadi on raijin.

Well you can get skadi and mjolnir? Skadi can work with other orbs(if its a range hero). If you dont believe me look at the item on this website.Sheep stick is good too. The overpower slow only last about .5 sec after every 5 atks. In that time they can escape(even with electric rave.) Its VERY HARD to trap heros with creeps when you grapple for 2 reasons. Number one, its gonna be hard to surround the hero unless he is in the middle of about 10ish creeps. Another, your creeps dont just attack the hero instantly,it usually only attack heros if they are the closest enemy, but there could be other creeps and if there wasnt who would just stand there?. They also only attacks hero if that hero attacks it or another hero. Grapple usually take about 1.5 sec to get to their destination. In that time ther hero cant run. Blink or lothars are good with this guy. Blink or lothar next to him then grapple him to your tower/teamates for an easy kill. You have to look at the items and understand them fully and consider the fact that your enemys ARENT noobs (unless the are then gg for the enemy)

To explain what eyefury is saying. We all know orb affects dont stack(Skadi isnt an orb effec.) Deso and sny are the only items that dont stack with skadi. An explanation of what he means about buff placer. Each attack can only put 1 buff placer. Buffs last for a period of timeit is a buff affect if you can see the little icon under the unit's picture and stats.A buff may include positive buffs like bloodlust, vampire aura, berserk, etc, a negative buff consist of maim, weave, frost damage, poisen, etc. You can only put one buff at a time FROM A ATTACK ATTACKING excluding spells or auras.
Oh and if you switch the items around it doesnt work too, the first one gets canceled by the second. The example of venoms poisen sting means that if he maims a person who is poisen the poisen gets cancelled out by maim.

In conclusion Skadi works with lifesteal items like MoM and satanic, chain lighting, and mana burn because they arent buffs, they are orb effects.They dont work with orb affects that give a negative buff. And dont get attacks and spells mixed up. Weeve, shadow strike, slow, and etc's buff still works with skadi.

I have tried him using a few builds, but I find the deso + assualt + Buriza best against fat ass opponents, let alone measly agi and intel heroes. The reason being mjollinir doesnt fire more even when your attack speed increases, but you get ready -6 for deso. Try using lothar's edge for escape and assualt. Lotahr to opponets back, fire a few shots and grapple into the creeps. Pretty fatal if you can master it.

i still think that deso and bruzia are good for him

Nobody has suggested manta...provided you time the attacks right, you get sooo much overload, they can't do anything. Plus mana burn means no annoying blinking away.

lol got milk, dagon is a really shit item on most heroes, you can hero kills before hand with help. Oh and all you noobs saying shit about ranged eye of skadi stacking with orbs, you're wrong. Check the tables. It doesn't stack with feedback or corruption, and doesn't work when lightening or maim trigger.

And btw, 1 thing is you said to get Hyperstone... Dude... this guy attacks fast enough as it already is! why don't you just save up for Mjollnir??? Another thing i wondered is you said about Dark Seer "His second skill, ion shell really goes well with your radiance, which mean that anyone who goes near you takes 110 dps and his third skill, surge makes your movespeed 522 for 6.5 seconds, which makes you be able to chase without using your ulti." Now i agree with this but, Any seer stupid enough to not get radiance himself is a retard. He should have Radiance way b4 u because reason number 1: Storm panda is not good at farming early to mid-game because he has no farming skill.
and 2: Dark seer is probably one of the best early-game hero-killers and farmers. Radiance don't stack, so if you have Dark Seer on you're team, leave it up to him to get radiance.

purge-like effect has been removed, how are you going to keep up with your opponent without skadi?
there's something wrong with your skill build. early game is when nukes dominate, yet you did not get barrier early game. rave is useless early game: it does not help you farm, and you should not aim for early game kills(you dont have skills to do that).

for its cost mkb deals more damage than radiance, although radiance makes farming easier. but if youre getting maelstrom, why need the radiance?

building damage, not building attack speed should be the priority. you lready have rave which gives you the attck speed right.

you get bkb not only for the nukes, but also for the disables. barrier cant protect you from disables.

guinsoo is a good optional item if your team needs another disable.

i agree that you dont need much regen. but we have different builds. i dont get regen because early game, you only use grapple and barrier on certain occasions, clarities should be more than enough for this purposes. mid to late game, you should only be using rave in team battles. however, a voidstone will help if you like to have rave for longer aounts of time.

i just realized my post on orb effects is a bit confusing.

orbs dont stack, only one buff per attack.

skadi ranged is not orb but buff placer, every orb except satanic are buff placers. hence satanic stacks with ranged skadi

triggered orbs like maim and c. lightning will stack with skadi, but you cant have both orbs in one attack. so when maim/c. lightning activates, no frost in attack.

Not a bad strategy at all. For those of you wondering why you should choose Electric Rave before Barrier, it's actually the more sensible build. Builds change when your opponent's lineup changes as well. Keep in mind, if you're going against a couple of casters, then go for Barrier then Electric Rave. If not, and especially if you're going against Str-based heroes, then go vice-versa.

I was just wondering why take Maelstrom late in the game. It's a very good farming and killing tool for Raijin. It's just my opinion.

by the time u get dagon u can get mjollnir yes... but dagon can be better. it gives u int and an energy burst. faceless void doesnt have a finisher, but he has bash, time walk, and 6 second disable. clinkz has no finisher but has wind walk which can sneak up on heroes and chase. u cant really criticize a build with a hero that hasnt been out that long though can u? haha

Threads/Travel then malestorm then go for skudi as it is NOT AN ORB EFFECT on a range hero after skudi go for mjoner followed with butterfly ...slow + chain =GG

I like your guide, good to finally see one for a new hero.

Your skill build is good, I used to max 1st skill primarily but now I see you need to max 3rd skill first.

However, I disagree with your item build. Usually I go Elven Boots, Mithril Hammer and Maelstrom right off the bat. This makes for UBER farming. Then I go Crysalis -> Buriza for damage, turn Maelstrom into Mjolnir and go for MKB if it goes that far. With this setup you have insane farming, you don't need Radiance you can kill entire creep waves in seconds.

Hmm..this strategy is fantastic...but your raijin really lack of hp.When engage in team battle,your Raijin will surely die in couple of seconds,try to get some hp boosting items,like a soul booster can help you well.

So...You must be the best player on earth, if you think your going to get halfway through this build in a decent game. That only way your going to get these items is if your lvl 20 and your whole team leaves, and you farm off the lvl 15s on the other team. your weapon build is kinda great..but it seems to be lacing a mana regen...even though its an agi type of int...stil yu'll need mana regen to stay in the line...

The build that i use on Rajin is much cheaper that all that crap you guys talk about and much more effective. I use treads hyperstone Buriza and he owns and if you think it doesnt own try it for yourself.

I think you guys have never felt the potential of lothars have you. It's quite a deadly combo. Lothar to opponent's back, fire 3 shots, grapple to creeps and keep on firing. The creeps will be sucked into your grapple destination. When he is so stucked, you'll own. Depending on situations, really try either the deso or EOS build, but in both cases use cuirass and buriza. Deso is used when there are more agi and int heroes while EOS is used for fat ass Str heroes.

I like this build because enemies get -11 armor, i get +15 armor, my damage is around +200, and my attack speed is insane with treads, assault and electric rave (+170% to be exact). Overall, i think this is a good all around build, but please send feedback.

he has decent hp and recieves hardly any dmg from spells so its best to max dps
skadi/moljour should be the core item and hyperstone rather than assult is enough

Mm.. Pretty good guid.. But.. Needs some work. If you have only basilius to regen youre mana. Leave on Electric rave permanently? youll be out of mana in like 20 sec if you use ulti + barrier.. Hyperstone? o.o .. If you have E-rave on. HS will only give you about 20% IAS .. With Butterfly's Aggi boost even less. Get Guinsoo or Aganims even is better lol. And someone sead Skadi on, i agree with skadi. It will make this hero ultra imba. Making people quit! -.-''

good guide,but my item build is treads,mjolnir,guinsoos,dagon,radiance and assault cuirass...i sometimes build diffusal/manta...it depends anyway on what kind of enemy...

waaiit a second, mjollnir used to be pretty good for me but now, not so much, i prefer getting skadi or deso instead, skadi slows ur enemy like hell, use rave attack a few times, he tries to run away, attack couple more times, run in front of him, attack, run in front attack, with skadi no one should be able to escape you

Ok first off, MoM is key with this hero. Its an instant 75% attack speed plus what you already have. IMO its way better then a chain lightning here and there. Also Skadi is a MUST.

I buy to this hero Crystalis .. with that Attack Speed Maybe criticals can be needed :D

I prefer making mjollnir earlier, yet i haven't played wid this hero a lot maybe u would have, radiance is a good idea, Thnx.

why would you need skadi if you could have a desolator? it has minus armor plus your super fast movement speed.. note: dont use desolator if you cant get it at level 11 or 12..

I think thats kinda expensive so you will not get all of it (because leavers -.- hate those) so i usually getting PT,MKB and guinso with those items i getting about godlike .

Start the game off with 3 potions and a ring of regen and a tango 3 postions cover that mana persecond so you can spam your 3rd and first skill. the tango is when your weak from a battle stacked with the ring you can stay in your lane forever. then you wanna get maelstrom which then money just rolls in then youll build your ob staff then a sheep stick (this is awsome for all of the heros you just listed as threats it takes them out for a while while you work your magic youll kill any hero if you farmed and leveled right. then you just add on b-fly and upgrade you maelstrom boom godlike gg your guide isnt amazing but its not bad so id give you a 6/10

very nice guide, I followed it, tho I also made guynsoo. only thing was that when I made maelstorm cgain lightning didnt seem to cast, although I had no other orb skills

Wat about orchid...it adds 40% AS and makes use of ur sobimask. Decent damage and ability to soul burn them. Increase mana and mana regen just comes with the territory.

ahaha sry man, ur guide jus doesn't cut it for me , i think you've underestimated him against a few heroes, early game, he can own ursa and sven, as long as u keep gankin them and not letting them farm, they won't be able to handle storm late game.

Good try for your first guide. I have also written a guide for storm.

Firstly, I definitely agree you dont need a dagon. Huge waste of money.

However, you also dont need butterfly AND hyperstone (overkill).

Skadi AND Maelstrom is a must. I also like buriza/mkb. Guinsoo is also good depending on enemies.

The most important thing about storm is making sure you do not die early. If you die more than once in the first 7-8 minutes then your in trouble.

Also avoid tussling with late game tanks. Storm cannot kill a late game axe under any circumstances. so dont be over confident.

I also get treds instead of bot.

The armour reduction and damage reduction are good and it gives you a hish DPS but it is an orb effect, and mjolnir is the best orb effect for Raijin.

Not too bad, BoT is great, Mjolinir is great, but radiance isnt right for him. I also disagree about not getting the scythe, its really perfect for him. Great mana regen, good damage, and hex is always a good skill. Hex + overload and electric rave really hurts. Also Orchid works really well too if your not farming well. Attack speed, damage and mana regen.

I think you don't need hyperstone. Butterfly should be enough. Dagon could be useful though.

I dont think I like the item build. Storm has soo much potential for dmg dealing that people don't realizel. Thats not just you, but alot of people are fine to use him as a support hero, but he can farm REALLY well with mael:

Cool, but you should mention that if you face a lane with nukers (i.e Zeus or SF) you might want to get Overload and Barrier.

Radiance...hmm fine but there are better carriers because if you attack a hero at distance they won't get immolation damage

ill give u a 5/10, the item build is all wrong. you get BoT, maelstrom, guinsoo, skadi, shivas guard and orchid maloevance. or you could get desolator and assault cuirass and MKB, which adds more damage. Still needs a lot of work
