The Demon Witch releases his demonic magics into the ground in order to thrust solidified rock spikes along a straight path. This sends all his enemies into the air, only to take damage on their painful impact with the ground.
Level 1 - 60 damage, lasts 0.5 second.
Level 2 - 130 damage, lasts 1 second.
Level 3 - 200 damage, lasts 1.5 seconds.
Level 4 - 260 damage, lasts 2 seconds.
• Damage type: magical
• Hit units will fly for 0.52 seconds before the real stun is applied.
• Distance traveled is 700.
• Casting range: 500
• Area of Effect: 150
Mana Cost: 100/120/145/170
Comment: This is what makes Lion a great disabler. 4 seconds of pain, you and your teammates can do a lot of things in 4 seconds. But look at that mana cost! It is very high even for Lion early game, so don’t use it at levels 1 and 2 unless you absolutely have to. The only problem I have with hex is that it is so hard to click on a critter… but oh well a great skill nonetheless.
Transforms an enemy unit into a random critter, disabling special abilities.
Level 1 - Lasts 1.25 seconds.
Level 2 - Lasts 2 seconds.
Level 3 - Lasts 2.75 seconds.
Level 4 - Lasts 3.5 seconds.
• If the target is an illusion, it will be instantly destroyed.
• The hexed target will have a base movespeed of 100.
• Hex disables damage block and evasion.
• Casting range: 500
Mana Cost: 110/140/170/200
Comment: As unoriginal this spell is, you will be using this a lot in the game. This is your stun, and it can affect multiple enemies if aimed right. Late game you will have enough mana to spam this on creeps. This can be useful in team battles as well. With two disables at your disposal, expect your teammates to depend on you a lot in team battles. One more thing, I recommend clicking on the hero instead of the ground while aiming this, it gives you more accuracy. Thing is, if you aim it on the hero and he has Linkens, Linkens will block it. But if you aim it on the ground, Linkens will not block it. But to lag and other matters, refrain yourself from aiming at the ground unless that hero has Linkens.
Absorbs the magical energies of a target enemy unit by taking mana from it every second. Lasts 4 seconds.
Level 1 - 20 mana drained per second.
Level 2 - 40 mana drained per second.
Level 3 - 60 mana drained per second.
Level 4 - 100 mana drained per second.
• Illusions which are being Mana Drained will be destroyed after 1 second.
• Can continue to drain as long as the target is within 800 range from Lion.
• Casting range: 600/650/700/750
Mana Cost: 10
Cooldown: 25/20/15/10 seconds
Comment: No, no, no. Don’t ever get this skill. It steals very little mana, and what bugs me the most is that it is a channeling spell. It is not worth learning, it does not harass as effectively as NA’s mana burn. If you use it on the ranged creep, the melee creeps will leave you vulnerable. Bottom line, don’t ever get this skill, mana regen items are better. Besides, it will just delay hex and stats, which are far more useful than Mana Drain.
Instantly rips at a target, attempting to turn it inside-out. Deals massive damage.
Level 1 - Deals 500 (600*) damage.
Level 2 - Deals 650 (800*) damage.
Level 3 - Deals 850 (1025*) damage.
• Damage type: magical
• Casting range: 700
• Can be improved by Aghanim's Scepter (* shows the improved values).
Mana Cost: 200/420/650(625)
Comment: This skill is often used as a finisher. I’ve already put the actual damage to the hero above. The damage will even be lower if they have Aegis and especially on Anti-Mage. Be sure to estimate the hp of the hero before using this skill. Late game it will not be that effective anymore so start hunting at level 6 because this skill is best used at early to mid game. One more thing, don’t ever used this to kill steal unless your teammates says so. It pisses them off, you know.

First and foremost, this is a pubbie build. This is meant to be used in pubs, where there are no means of teamwork. This build is for you to kill people early game with Dagon, and to support your allies late game. But you can still take out Agi and Int heroes late game with this build, even hurt Str heroes, hence the Refresher Orb.
Aghanims is there not for the added bonus in Finger of Death, but because it gives Lion much needed HP early to mid game. Ring of Basilius for early game mana regen, and Dagon for surefire early game kills. I agree that this is not the best build for Lion, but if you want to KILL, then this is the build for you.
Remember in this build, hero killing is your TOP priority. I will provide the combos you need to do with in this build in the strategy section.
Buy the necessary starting items and head out to your lane. Solo or with a partner is fine, because Lion really shines with a teammate. I prefer not going mid, as the mid leaves you vulnerable to be ganked at two sides. Besides, if you are going mid you will probably face a nuker like Lich or Zeus, and Lion isn’t just strong enough early game to face this bitches. Once you get to your lane do the usual last hit creeping. Since you are a ranged hero, you can use this to your advantage by harassing melee heroes that are in your lane. Just make sure you also kill a lot of creeps during your harassing. If you face a nuker, play it safe and only attack the creeps if it’s the last hit.
Do not yet cast Impale level 1; you can start using it at level 3. If you are with an ally, then tell him to attack the impaled hero. This works even better if you are paired with ranged heroes, preferably heroes like Clinkz. This is great for early game harassing, and will probably piss your opponents. Now just farm and harass your way until level 6, where you should attempt for first blood if it hasn’t been done yet. If you think that your impale+finger combo will kill your opponent instantly, then go for the kill. If you are not confident, then try softening first your opponent with an Impale and a few hits.
This is what you should do early game: Kill. When you get your Dagon (if you are playing the Power Nuker Lion, killing will be much easier. Note the damage you can dish out when you already have Dagon. So your early game combo would be:... Voodoo + hit, hit (about 140 or so damage) + Impale (195 damage) + hit, hit (about 140 or so damage) + Dagon (400 damage) + Finger (375 damage) = 1250 damage! This combo costs 570 mana. I would normally get my Dagon at about level 10 or so… the attack damage I took from the damage that Lion has at Level 10 with a Dagon and Ring of Basilius in his inventory. 1250 damage at level 10 or so? That is very formidable, and most heroes you can take down with it.
Remember not to cast Voodoo at levels 1 and 2, its not worth the mana. Every time you have enough mana, you should be scouting the map for easy kills. Remember that Lion is a very strong hero killer early game,.
