Hey, this is great! Even mine dosen't match up with yours..........but there is one thing.The screenshots you give aren't that clear, in fact they are confusing. I feel my strat is better in the tactics part. Nice conclusion, way better than mine. Sry for my lack of modesty!

I only gave the main items for Jakiro to make a good combo on his skills. The optional items like Skadi or Radiance or others are up to you, it depends on what enemy you're facing, for example a melee hero, you'll be needing some Blademails etc. Get it??

This is one awesome guide. I like the skill build, and though the item build only focused on the main things you would get, it's quite easy to fill in the blanks, like Boots of Travel, Eye of Skadi, etc. The screenies are very very helpful. Though one still needs to practice a lot to get Ice Path and Macropyre right. Great job, Steve-O!

Wow! A strategy of a pro. Goodwork! Noobs can learn from this. This is the type of strategies that has to be posted here. Jakiro is a competetive type of a hero is is effective from 2v2 up to 5v5. He's a great support hero with 1 disable and one stunner. Plus the dual breath is great in countering creep pushes and is a consistent damage dealing ability. Eul's then guinsoo is ok. Bracers can be used if the game is tight. Guys, this is a strategy made by a PRO.

Guide summons extremely powerful (I mean in terms of damage) but slow moving and attacking twinhead.In my opinion,Jakiro strictly needs power treads.If you don't boost your attack speed,give stats before Auto Fire because it works only with high attack speed.

Main advantage of twinhead is its moving speed(305 at the beginning) but on the other hand is it has a very low range(400) which means you will have trouble with normal ranged heroes (550 in average) and must turn back generally to save hp.

If the enemy is close to you, or whenever you think you can pull it off, I recommend casting Ice Path before Macropyre, but one right after the other, with the hotkeys of course. So you Dual Breath them, then T-click-R-click in the same spot. That way they'll spend the full stun time of Ice Path in the Macropyre. The only times this might not work are against opponents with fast MS, or with quick reflexes. Just a suggestion.

crazy strategy....but it takes certain times to practise to use this hero to be good...i try the 1st time use jakiro...the ice path n the ulti takes time for channeling...

just wondering steve-o what do u do late game when all ur enemies are pros... Those items wont do much and this hero becomes useless....

really nice guide but i disagree with one thing.. i never get autofire due to the following reasons:
1. dual breath is more than enough as a farming tool
2. jakiro has bad agi growth
3. jakiro mainly spams in team battles.. it seldom attacks. damage from autofire in team battles is negligible since you can easily get out of its aoe

well i agree with everything you said but two things. instead of rob mechanism for support becsaue that is mainly what you're i kno rob for harras and more db, but i still think mech.
another thing is i never get autoatttack till you have to. farming is easy enough with db and a euls.
other than that that is about it. coulda put more pictures on how to save friends becasue he will many many times if you are on hte ball

What if your enemy has a Hood of Defiance? They have a chance of survivability of your combos.

Real tough to play this one. The icepath-macro combo hardly ever works.. the target can easily get away during the LOOONG cast time for macro. But given the following circumstances...

1. jakiro was close to the target upon firing the icepath
2. his icepath is at lev4 and ulti is at lev3 (longer range then)
3. the target is stupid enough to move along the entire length of the macro.

then the macro just might make a kill.. or shave half the target's hp.. well if not then at least you get the gold from the creeps.

how about saving the macro to go after cycloned targets? after the first engagement, cyc...wait a couple of seconds then fire the macro on the ground so he lands on it, then dualbreath to slow him down enough for the macro to deal good damage then start the chase. the icepath should still be on cooldown from the first engagement.

Nice Steve! These are my build for Jakiro:

1. Boots of Travel = for extra movement speed by 90.

2. Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse = for mana regeneration, damage(because Jakiro is an Int. type hero) and its disabling ability(Hex Ability).

3. Heart of Tarrasque = for extra HP points.

4. The Butterfly = for increased attack speed, armor, and its 25% Evasion.(Jakiro is a slow hero in terms of attacking).

5. Radiance = for its 8% Evasion for the radius of 550.

6. Linken's Sphere = for extra stats' points.

Well, what I saw someone do once, he owned his lane, dominating at lvl12 when we're lvl9's, (or something, this was ages ago), and hes got basically no items. 5 mins later, he comes back out in the open, and SUDDENLY, theres THREE OF HIM. He went and got a MANTA STYLE. Slow, freeze, images clobber the target. And it worked REALLY well. *Shrug*
Did I mention Steve-O rocks? I musta done somewhere...

I'm sorry, I have a diferent perception when it comes to Jakiro... I mostly cheked out the item build... guinsoo is not compulsory for this hero in my op... but hey it's a clasiic :P ;) I can make up many item builds for him in which I don't use guinsoo, nice picz tough :) :P anywayz I played Steve-O a few times on DL I think...he is quite good from what I've seen :P this guide doese't say much about his style of playing...

Good guide, i like the screen pictures but there is not really a late game strategy. In my last game where i randomed Jakiro and i bought Guinsoo by level 15, then i just went with refresher orb as it is a good Int item. 7/10 because your late game strategy is not that great!

Jakiro is really a good hero. It is easy to get a DK with this guy. and nice guide Steve-O. I've tried to experiment on him, rather than adding 2 bracers, I just have 1 and put a deso on Jakiro not bad.

Too bad this guide doesen't say how to pawn someone with Eul's cyclone.


Simply, you cyclone an hero. Then you wait about 2 sec, then you cast icepath and then immedietly macropyre. What happends now is that you cast macropyre just when the ice barrier explodes, trapping the hero and at the same time he will feel the great power of macropyre! Then you must cast dual breath fast, so the enemy is slowed and wont be able to get off the burning ground that fast.

i dont like how macropyre's cooldown rises with level..., though still short

The boots are of youre choice. IT depends on the situation of the game. I've only placed the main items on the item build. The extra items like boots, linker, defiance or whatever depends on the status of the game.

good guide! funniest thing happened the other day. While my ally Darchrow was using darkhole I was Jakiro and i macropyred Pudge, Tiny, Viper, and Axe while Juggernaut omnislashed them and Lich did chain frost Goblin techies got a triple kill tho...set off like 20 mines I killed Tiny tho peace...

yeah i learned that spectre was dangerous the hard way. tried soloing him and got pawned. great strat, especially about ice path which i was having trouble with. i tried different item build with him though like the new items like shiva's guard and orchid malevolence. the situation called for it and it looked cool

I just tried Shiva's Guard on Jakiro and its awesome with some items like guinsoo, RoB, radiance and a heart of tarrasque but I forgot to upgrade boots of speed to travel but I'm rank 1 in the game and also to the guide, thanks Steve-O.

wy not autofire you said yourself that the 200damage is good for creeping dont you need money fast? and the 200damage works hard on the little bastards who think your food like balanar and bloodskeer.... you will pown their ass[works on all other heros to except centaur]yust try it cause i say you depend 2 much on ult

SOME THINGS WRONG IN THE STRATEGY
*Its best to cast macropyre THEN freeze,at the same time, after each other. This way you will HOLD the enemy in your MACRO.

This is the ultimate killer combo.
HEX-->MAcro-->freeze-->double

Honestly, this guide is not bad and all but the thing that u focus on too much is the killing part, even as the name of u guide says. jakiro isnt a killer seriously, getting good sprees wif him = not allowing ur friends to get the spree itself, he is more of a nuker and a support hero. Ur guide also did not specify on how he can control lanes wif his dual breath and his ice path. Also, in clan games and competitive matches, auto fire is not really added so u shud have added and alternative build. DotA isnt about kills so u shud focus on how this hero shud be played not on killingm and that's the mistake ppl make. Another item u missed out is his necro book. that wud seriously help ur teammates. In one game, a hero wif a necro book cud help the team a lot u kno, think about combo-ing his skills w/o items and ur guide wud be near perfect =).But overall this guide is not too bad but lacked fundamental stuff.

I like your guide... I finish your item build and i get shiva's guard for the added armour and artic blast, but... I just keep getting killed in no time at all!! Must've been my team mates... Opposite team was owning but I got the highest score and ended with 8k gold lols

Superb guide, I won't think anyone in a lifetime can make a better strat of jakiro then you did

This itembuild will own every hero if you have some experience using Jakiro:

1. BoT
2. Sheepstick
3. Skadi
4. Shiva's Guard
5. Heart

A rather expencieve build, but as i mentioned before you need to have some experience using him, because it requires a lot of precisio and timing.

Pudge + Jakiro are I think the hardest to use heroes in DotA.

DAgger of escape is good for him. Jakiro is poor at escaping and dual breath doesnt have a far range.

add assault cuirass + heart of tarrasque and jakiro will be invinsible

when my friends tried to gank, i guinsooed the tank. ice path then macropyre then dual breath i owned so badly

autofire is a good fire tool and early on it can really be good at harassing, getting it during mid game is a bad idea. its not like you will have herds of enemmy heroes escaping from you at level 5 so you might as well get auto fire

I really like, just like everyone else, your detailed explanation and pics.
But with 6.51 guinsoo changed too much.
True enough it gives more stamina with th str bonus but it's just ain't enough
(it didn't give anything for stamina anyway). PLus it's a bit more expensive.
Just for the record, I prefer shiva's guard.....cheaper, gives 15 armor(jakiro has the lowest armor in the game, he starts with 0 for god's sake)
And the slow effect is even greater..plus another 200dmg to help ugetthekill

But why get Eul's when you already have Guinsoo's? For the mana I guess? Guinsoo already has a Hex ability which means the enemy can't do much. While Eul's will cyclone the enemy. I guess for the mana.

I'd have SnY with Jakiro, for faster aspd which means more damage and auto fire. Auto Fire can be very useful when used on a very soft hero.

Other than that, you gave him a very thorough explanation on his skills, his weakness and strengths. I'd give this a 10/10.
