I finally came up with a build for this character after using him and trying out different items build for him. This is my first time creating a strategy for him,any comments are accepted
Nevermore

Nevermore - The Shadow Fiend

Range: | Move Speed: 300
Primary: AGI
Str: 15 + 2 | Agi: 20 + 2.4 | Int: 18 + 2
Damage: 35 41 | HP: 435 | Mana: 234
HP Regen: 0.70 | Mana Regen: 0.73
Attack Speed: 0.71 | Armor: 2
Shadowraze
Shadowraze (Z)
Gives the Shadow Fiend the power to desecrate regions in front of him at varying distances.
Level 1 - 75 damage.
Level 2 - 150 damage.
Level 3 - 225 damage.
Level 4 - 300 damage.
Damage type: magical
When Shadow Raze is learned, three independent skills will be given to Nevermore, each one generating a Shadow Raze at a specific distance in front of him.
Casting range Z: 200
Casting range X: 450
Casting range C: 700
Area of Effect: 275
Mana Cost: 75
Cooldown: 10
Comment: A good damageing skill provided if you know how to aim it.cause it is not a target skill.it only blast the area in front of you,in three different distance.

Necromastery
Necromastery (N)
Whenever the Shadow Fiend kills a unit (both allies or enemies), he stores the unfortunate soul inside of him. For each stored soul he gains 2 bonus damage until his own death releases half of them from bondage.
Level 1 - 16 damage limit.
Level 2 - 30 damage limit.
Level 3 - 46 damage limit.
Level 4 - 60 damage limit.
Heroes, denies and neutral creeps also provide Bonus damage through Necromastery.
The more souls Nevermore has, the more powerful Requiem of Souls will be.
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Comment: His must have skill, causes his attack to greatly increase
Presence of the Dark Lord
Presence of the Dark Lord (P)
The presence of such a horrible creature terrifies nearby enemies, reducing their armor.
Level 1 - 2 armor reduction.
Level 2 - 3 armor reduction.
Level 3 - 4 armor reduction.
Level 4 - 5 armor reduction.
Fully stacks with other armor reduction abilities and auras.
Area of Effect: 900
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Comment: A very good skill which causes the enemy to have their armor reduced, with your Necromastery, its going to be painful for the enemy.
Requiem of Souls
Requiem of Souls (R)
Summons evil spirits around you dealing damage to units in the area. Number of spirits is related to the number of souls stored. Lowers movement speed and damage of nearby units. The closer the units are the greater the effect.
Level 1 - 80 damage for each line, 15% reduction, lasts 5 seconds.
Level 2 - 120 damage for each line, 20% reduction, lasts 5 seconds.
Level 3 - 160 damage for each line, 25% reduction, lasts 5 seconds.
Damage type: magical
The amount of damage dealt is related to the number of souls captured with Necromastery.
Requiem of Souls generates damaging lines around Nevermore, 1 per 2 souls stored, for a maximum of 15 lines.
The closer the targeted unit is, the bigger the amount of lines affecting him.
Reduces both movement speed and attack damage of units in a 700 AoE.
This skill breaks invisibility a short time before it's released.
This skill has a 1 second cast time
Area of Effect: 1300/1325/1350
Mana Cost: 150/175/200
Cooldown: 120/110/100
Comment: Nevermore strongest skill, one sec casting time. The nearer the enemy the higher the damage, try not to use it against a stunner.

Skill Build

Early Game:

Buy a ring of regeneration and a flask of sapphire water. if you are in scourge, go to the top lane. if sentinels go to the bottom lane. try to solo a lane if possible cause of nevermore necromastery, you will want more damage by killing creeps and not have your ally to kill them.

Try to kill and deny creeps with the last hit in order to earn bonus damage, experience too and harrass the enemy hero of your lane as much as possible in order for him to waste his pots or force him back to base, with your bonus damage dealing harrassing the opponent should be simple.

this guide is so expensive !!

your 6th item is aegis so by then you should be around lvl 10-13, ok like how the hell would you kill roshan then? this guide isnt very clear and too expesive and dependant on damage items. i would start with SnY then Butetrfly before even thinking about skadi.

Desolator is very usefull for this hero

89 By reaperox 2008-03-08

in my view the best item build is

BoT
Lothar
EoS
Buriza
Butterfly
Mkb/Satanic

i like the style of James which is at 1st empty bottle a crowwww! oooooooooha?

87 By onil_yo 2008-01-11

fyi: EoS is not an orb effect w/ long range heroes

86 By papota 2008-01-06

if your gonna buy eye and satanic, youll mess it up all, since both are orb effects and one will cancel the other

85 By snipe_off 2008-01-05

OMG!!! no lothar

84 By genzki_dk 2008-01-05

Try putting a bloodstone on him.. regen+life+mana and its cheap! also, lothars helps him make good use of his ulti.. try building this 2 items first then pm me for comments.. promise its really good!

I really enjoyed using this as a basic template for my own build. It was quite handy but for the matchs I've played (while I am FAR from professional as a casual player) I didn't find a need for many of those items. Buriza and the ultimate orbs for example and in turn the eye of Skadi. While I do recognize how amazing of items these truly are I did not find a need for them, what I found lacking was Mana.

Would anyone be willing to suggest a change or two to my build (has worked fairly well in the matchs i've played)

My build consisted of Treads, Ring of regen. Followed by Mithril hammers for Desolator (to compliment the aura) then I swapped out the ring of regen for perserverance (I tend to use a lot of mana playing any hero so that recharge seemed like a good idea.. any suggestions on that?). Once I had the better HP and Mana regen I was going smoothly but I then followed up with a hyperstone. Then a soul booster (which combined to a bloodstone which I wasn't going to complain about lol) and I finally got an eagle horn when the game near ended. And I had a penguin (eventually changed into crow) to deliver and combine it for me as I ran back to collect.

I'll take any suggestions (and yes I know the courier isn't that wise of an idea but I am very careful with it)

Also, with everypoint of agi raising your attack speed by 1% according to in game menu. is there a max or is it an unending rise? In theory a base 77agi with a +65 giving 142% speed increase with a hyperstone 55% could increase to 197? This has always been something that has confused me so I appologize if it is a stupid question.

... not very good item build, in a 5v5 game you wouldnt have to worry about slow since you have teammates with that (most of the time) you are dps you are supposed to do as much freaking damage as possible

My item build:
BoT Blink Dagger Bottle Desolator and Butter

Nice build, congrats much better then the other one. His has the wrong build

79 By kyojin018 2007-12-22

satanic and lothars for me is the best items to have since he has a powerful damge and the life steal will help him survive and the lothars to avoid ganks rather than aegis..you can also gain agility from lothars..what do you think?

78 By leddy 2007-12-22

There's no running away with low hp from a Nevermore with level 4 Shadowraze..so without needing an item to chase with; Lothar's defeats blink dagger in terms of usefulness for using Requiem.
