The Super-Fast/Super Deadly Phantom

Your itembuild is atrocious, but your strategy is good. Buriza and her ult crits don't stack. The reality is, you get the 2.2x crit instead of the 4x crit. If you would read some of the technical things on dota-allstars.com you would know that. Also, insulting someone in the beginning of your guide, not the best idea. ajjirl's strategy works amazingly and I've used both of yours...(minus the stupid items), and you say that people save for expensive items like butterfly? Skadi costs 300 gold less than a rapier. Not expensive? Have you added your item totals lately to say that your items aren't expensive? 30700 Gold for your entire build ((including MKB which you stated in your strategy.)) All and all, pretty slacking. Also, you underestimate the power of stats on mortred early game, and got no regen item when running out to your lane, if you lane against a nuker or harasser, you'll be running back to base at level 1.

Youve got this TOTALLY WRONG!!! For one, Shadow Strike's duration damage is for 2 seconds!!! AT LEVEL 4, IT DOES 200 DAMAGE!! Second, S and Y's maim will not stack with the frost from Skadi. Also, Buriza's crit will not stack with Mortred's. Both numbers will show up sometimes, but only Buriza's will do damage. Also, I HIGHLY doubt that you will be able to farm that much money. Realistically, you will get up to the battle fury and stop there. The Skadi in late game is wayyy to hard to farm to, when ganks are occuring left and right. Also, Boots as a first item is a noob choice, because it does not help you to farm or to stay in the lane longer, which is what you should focus on. Morty has very low starting HP, so I prefer getting bracers instead of wraith bands. And why would you get one level of blur??? 7% dodge is not likely to do anything but waste a skill point. Either max it out or forget it. Morty's first priority should be damage to boost her crits. And finally, its not ajjirl. its either me or aboardboy, dont insult our strats if you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

i created a morted guild myself called aboardboy's morted actually i thought bourtiza stacks with coup de grace until yukino_silvermain told me anyways you might want to add a santanic to your build.Over al good statergy!!!

Meh, not much explanation on item build. And during Mid Game you said, "But don't concentrate on killing enemy heroes just yet, you still have to pile up gold for more powerful items." WTF? This is where Mortred shines! The late game isn't advisable for her as enemy heroes' HP goes way beyond the reach of Coup de Grace. And also, allowing your enemies to live until the end game means they have much time to but powerful items. The best thing to do is to keep on killing enemy heroes in the Mid Game to prevent enemy heroes from having powerful items so that you can win even before the Late game comes.

Oh and one more thing, you're better off with Hyperstone than S&Y. You don't need movement speed, you have Blink Strike for that!

You are correct, garfield! except, mortred gets exponentially better as the game progresses. she owns in late game too.. Hyperstone is great, but personally i usually go for hand of midas midgame. starting with a random gloves(after treads).

U dont need Shadow Strike in the begining wat u need is Blink Stike imagine of 120 bonus dmg (Dmg+BlinkStrike x critical=Godlike

have you even TRIED this strat in a real game??? you would know that SS cannot kill a hero with 300 hp.... and if you were owning with these items..well if you even got to buying these items your opponents must have been extreme feeders lol.

yeah linkens sphere is a pretty nice item and works well in mortred if there are many intel. heroes....battle fury is a good choice anyway as it helps you farm better and faster, its life and mana reg helps a lot and its damage cant be underestimated. I would rather get a MKB for the high dmg and increased attack speed. you can also get satanic which would definitely hekp you in 1v1 combat.

I guess I got careless about the skadi thing, I'm gonna change that. But why don't you at least try my strategy (minus the skadi). I've tried yours (I have to admit that they rock). Plus, using a new strategy would easily catch an enemy off guard (think Alexander the Great).

I have been playing DotA for quite a while now (2 years) and, don't wish to brag or anything but, I've never lost a game once I complete the items (minus the skadi). But frankly, I never knew that even though both critical numbers show up, only buriza's damage is dealt (I'm wondering how you guys found that out).

But I have to admit that I SELDOM use Mortred. I play AllRandom games and my chances in getting Mortred is, let's say, 1 out of 79? This is the first strategy guide I made and I don't care if you guys say that my strategy sucks, all I care about is that it WORKS (again, minus the skadi) and I'm gonna stick to it.

i strongly suggest 2 build linken sphere early in the game to avoid the ultimate of heroes... aside from linken, u should build MKB, Power treads,a couple of plate mail, HoM & Battle fury...

You need Satanic for life steal. And you should put the last 3 skills of Shadow Strike in the end and put the first skill of Shadow Strike in lvl1 to harrass the agi or int range.

my best item build would be a power threads, Battle Fury, SnY, Butterfly, Aegis then Divine R.. I would recommend to prioritize the battle fury after the threads, you will have a hard time building it but once it is completed, buying for the others is a piece of cake, and i also recommend to have only lvl 1 shadow strike and lvl bling strke and the stats should come first until your lvl 18 (not to mention blur).. well that's just me

yours item build...hmmm. I don't know what to say. This is my build which i sprefer, SnY happens to stack with deso, i don't know why, but thats the fact. My build is SnY, Butterfly, deso , power treads and perhaps a heart for tanking UNSTOPPABLE. i tried , just get SnY deso treads and a few tangos u can go roshan with ONE teamate and its yours, save money for DR after that trust me i tried , and a over 2000criticali have the replay

i wanted to create another strategy for mortred but i cant locate mortred's name when im about to create it... the names are arranged alphabetically though... oh well guess they don't want me to share my stuff... hehehe lol Here's the Best set of items for mortred that i have tried so far...
Early Game:
RoR, Ogre Gauntlets, Flasks.
Mid Game:
Treads, Bashers, Quarter Staff.
Late Game:
Treads, Bashers, Butterfly.

*if you still manage to get more gold(course from super ownage)get Assault Cuirass or Bloodstone for additional crunchyness to her life points...

Tip for a perfect Phantom Kill:
Stalk your Hero, Blink(let the blink's damage appear first) then Shadow strike for easy chase (basher + speed on treads + speed on butterfly = good Perma Bash = perfect kill ) that should help a bit... dunno why i cant make strats for mortred... aaaqqq

Just save the slot for Butterfly.

And you should also save up for battle fury first.
It can help you save money faster...earlier.

And try learning only 1vl.1shadow strike. Save your skill points for blur for a sneek attack.

Your strategy is good enough,I think.
But you miss two of the most item to make her survive on the lane(in the early game of course).
The item I usually use are mask of madness and vanguard,it of course can absorb some light Hp on every attack and can creep(making gold better) those also very useable when there is a hero with low Hp(avoiding your prey killed by another hero).
In the late game she can buy hyperstone,berserk stack with hyperstone,double precentage critical can make her absolutly very quick with unbearable damage(over 1000).

(it stacks) and 2 burizas (does not stack the critical but the chances are good)..
2 butterflies = 60% evasion + 28% (blur)= 88%!!!!very high!!!
- it will also increase ur damage attack speed (get more crits) and agi (overall)
dont judge the 2 burizas directly..
with 2 burizas, ur crit will be over 1000 every hit!!and chances are very high!!!

overall: ur crit ir crazy..make u a killer,ur evasion is near 100% which makes u harder to hit...

In my opinion, Mortred's play is, you must kill them before they see you. Boost attack spd and damage.

The play strategy I believe, is good except that letting Mortred "shine" only in late game. The key, as with almost all late gamers is to survive and farm aptly in the early game and grab control during the mid game. The item buidl truly and I am sorry, does not make much sense due to the combinations. This should be pretty obvious to most experienced players. Also, do not downplay other's strategies - just cite them and give them recognition.

warchief...you're wrong concerning buriza...It does NOT replace the 4x crit of the ulti....It only gives a new crit of 2.2x...there are 2 criticals...so the chance of doing one grows...you can also make both crits at the same time...and that's a hell of a lot dmg...

Your build is bad because you have no lifesteal and no stats so how does she not die right away to every nuker? asdfjjj's method allows mort to start killing by mid game and keep killing as she goes. The bulk of the farming should be killing heros and whatever creeps are there.

Since you say that late game is when Mortred starts to shine, you should focus survivability during early and mid game, and to farm as much as possible. So, the best skill for her in early/mid game is blur and blinkstrike and only level 1 shadowstrike. For your item build, sny and battlefury are understandable, but eye of skadi and buriza is totally wrong. You have three killing skills: Shadow strike, blink strike and the critical. Furthermore, sny and melee eos cannot stack. You say that the chances of critical increases if you get buriza. Yes, that's true. But the chances increases because theres also 2.2x critical strike. 5/10

then either Linkens,BKB or buriza
No buriza does not stack with grace BUT both of them have a chance of going off. some times u hit buriza for round 900(after skill build complete) and then grace for 1800 youll get a crit like every 2 seconds. not much will last long in a 1v1 or 1v2 or 1v3

to all of you noobs out there skadi and s&y DO stack because skadi is a constant orb. s&y are a chance orb so when u get the chance skadi disengages and it does maim but when its not maiming skadi does its job....

I don't want to said this but whoever made this guide, you've it all wrong.
First of all, S&Y and Skadi are both orbs so no stacking.
Second, have you ever learn that getting burriza for a hero that atually have crit strike is NOT worth it.
Thirdly, instead of wraithband i prefer bracers. but i really don't think you need any of those.

Overall, the only thing i agree with you strongly is the use of battlefury. But everything else, i think you should reconsider.

read dota-allstar first before you right a strategy.....lvl 1 shadow strike is enough early game..go for the stat instead leveling you shadow strike.

Its nice BUT the skadi makes the assasin too much "visible"

After SnY, U must immediately build BDK 4 kill...
Then, if u feel ur enemy can see ur blur, buy a vladimir... Although u'll be visible, it's okay if ur opponent can se u even u with a blur without any aura... With vladimir, Mortred will be harder to be killed...

MKB isnt good for her and evasion does not stack so y buy butterfly? 100bonus dmg from MKB does not work with the critical.

-PowerTread (agi)
-Wraith bands + bracer
-Ring of Regen at first
-Helm of the dominator (lifesteal+dmg)
-Armlet (dmg+hp)
-Radiance (because she needs to chase over a long distance)

Dude... This strat well sorry for the term but it totally is bogus.. I mean come on... Skadi stacks with S&Y? And why take S&Y when you could rush to battlefury instead... With the battlefury it is xur dominance and yes I agree with others saying shadow strike for mortred isn't just her priority although it helps slowing down enemy heroes... It is just like her to have it killed by poison... And early in the game you dont have enough mana to spam blinkstrikes and shadowstrikes... Sorry man..1/10

@170 I actually go for helm of dominator early in the game after i get perseverance, then later upgrade it to a satanic imagine being low on life then suddenly you critcal hit... instant kill and regen... But anyway it's your build^^

Hmm... on the contrary... the buriza with the Coup' de Grace stacks... in an oppurtunity that the Coup' de Grace kicks in then the buriza goes over it:

Simple Mathematics really
For Example:

100-116 x 4 = 400-464 x 2.2 = 880 - 1020.8


so the dammage effectance will be 400-464 + 880-1020.8

THE TOTAL DAMAGE IF THE BURIZA STACKS OVER THE COUP'DE GRACE WILL BE:

1280 - 1484.8 (SEE THE DAMAGE?)

go for these items in this order
ring of health
treads
bfury
bfly first or helm of dominator first(whichever fits your style.
then finish off with satanic.
mos games only lasts after you make bfly or helm of dominator but if its really long i usually make MKB or divine.

they are both orb effects.. they won't stack.. and still, no item that will regen your life or enlarge your life capacity!??

Won't talk to much dude but your strat sux Sorry about that oh btw ... ur shadow strike thing (Shifting daggers) don't do dot (Damage over time ) it only do 80 damage last rank to enemy heroes so no need to do it full at the begining but taking the blur thing at the begin is better so blink blur ... till u finish it and buriza doesn't stack but give u more chance to crit or sometimes do 2 crits at same time one from ur char and one from buriza thats it...

oh btw dude ... why Skadi ? Why Battle Fury? Why S&Y? i prefer Helm of Dominator than S&Y and try to farm on Netural creeps till u get enough Money for Butterfly which will make u almost immune to be hitten by normal attacks also getting crystalys will help a bit so i think
2 wraith bands , Helm of dominator , 1 bracer at begin then farm for crystalys , then farm for butterfly when u get it get buriza and thanks ,, btw u should kill anyone if u got those already done 1700 damage 2 fast

with out the Buriza-do Kyanon, you can crit over 1k. power tread, butterfly, battle fury are enough to get you up there.

Really? How come when I put Buriza on Motred I get around 1.2k - 1.5k crit on her? My build was helm of dominator, pthreads, butterfly and MKB (sometimes).

I managed to dash out crazy crits and very fast killing but my lack of HP makes me easy to die but usually I managed to kill 1 - 2 heroes before I die.

So why is my crit reach 1.5k usually with HoD, Pthread, Butter, MKB?

why not try 2 battle fury???

i dont see why you dont have b fly in the item build, it's her best item lol. you'd have 58% dodge, nobody would hit you. lol i have no idea why you wouldnt have that in there. as for skadi, its ok, but im sure you have easily enough chasing abilities (ie. blink and nuke) to have no problem keeping up with them.
i guess this build is ok..but all the item you have cost alot, you can cut out so much. i was thinking that maybe lothars might be cool, they wont notice you for a bit, and you save bli

and maybe you could try rads for the lolz, i guess it gives 8% dodge. i wouldnt get it in a serious match, but it would be fun to see 66% dodge.

well, i just think that best item for her is buriza, butterfly, S&Y is ok if you wont allow it to reach late game when you already have to replace S&Y with EoS since you'll defintely be that rich if in mid-game,you're already eating your oponents alive.hyperstone, Boots of travel.its up to you whatever you want on the 6th box.blur should be maxed out as it will help you evade attacks in the early-midgame-lategame.add it with butterfly and no one would dare face you 1v1 even 2v1.

jz to add, if you can make your hyperstone turn into an assault kiras, well, with adequate support from your teamates, there is NO reason at all why you could lose a match.S&Y is impt when you are already taking kills on mid-game as your blinkstrike isnt dat maxed out yet so maim is definitely usable.once level 4 of blur is attained, that's the start of her playing her real role which is an ASSASSIN.if you dont use that, you wont achieve her max potential.thanks for reading!

ok,leave out the eye of skadi & buriza. instead put butterfly and hyperstone. butterfly increases ur dodge rate and hyperstone makes u hit more creeps and thanks to the critical makes u deal more damage to other creeps. and also boots of travel is optional

if mortred got skadi they will see the orb going around mortred the blur of mortred will be seen because around mortred has a orb they will see orb they know mortred is near but if you put radiance if mortred is near they will take damage the blick stricke your enemy if she or he live use shadow strike then your enemy is dead

In my proffesional opinion, this guide sucks. Firstly, getting boots is a complete waste since most lanes will have atleast 1 ranged hero, making farming with PA virtually impossible. Secondly, getting SnY is useless since PA has both blink strike (5 second cd) and stifling dagger, both of which are to prevent heroes from escaping. Third, why the hell do you need skadi when with 2 battle furies (much easier) you can crit way over 1.3k at 16. Also, buriza is considered a luxury item (too expensiv
